Bali Trip Cost for a Couple from India: The Full 2026 Budget
What two people actually spend on a Bali holiday – the air tickets, the villa, the driver, the Nusa Penida boat, the visa and levy, dinners and SIM cards – added up line by line in rupees.
The short answer: the Bali trip cost for a couple from India is about ₹1.06 to 1.47 lakh for two for a careful 5-night trip, ₹1.5 to 2.3 lakh for the private-pool-villa honeymoon most couples picture, and ₹2.6 lakh upward for five-star resorts and full-service flights. Those totals include return economy flights, the visa on arrival, the Bali tourist levy, stays with breakfast, a private car and driver, the main sightseeing and boat trip, meals, a SIM and travel insurance. Shopping is not counted.
Online, Bali prices are confusing because most "from ₹X" figures are land-only, per person, for the cheapest room in the lowest week, and leave out flights entirely. This guide does the opposite. It lists every cost line for two people, gives ranges you can check yourself, shows how the total moves when you add a sixth or seventh night, and points out where couples overspend without noticing. Rupiah figures are converted at about 190 IDR to ₹1, the rate in early November 2026; visa and levy information is as of November 2026 – rules and fees change, and we check them again before you book. If you want ready-made trips instead, our Bali tour packages show live land prices.

Bali couple budget at a glance (5 nights)
Totals for two people, 5 nights and 6 days, outside the Christmas–New Year fortnight, with flights booked six to eight weeks ahead from a major Indian city.
| Style | What you get | Total for the couple | Per person |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | One-stop flights with bags, 3-star hotel or villa with a shared pool, driver on three days, shared Nusa Penida tour, warung lunches and one Indian dinner a day | ₹1,06,000 – 1,47,000 | ₹53,000 – 74,000 |
| Mid-range (honeymoon favourite) | Better connections, one-bedroom private pool villas in Ubud and by the beach, private car every day, private Nusa Penida boat day, floating breakfast, one spa and one candle-light dinner | ₹1,52,000 – 2,29,000 | ₹76,000 – 1,15,000 |
| Premium | Non-stop or full-service flights, five-star resort or luxury villa with butler, chauffeur-style car, private tours, fine dining, photoshoot | ₹2,56,000 – 4,70,000 | ₹1,28,000 – 2,35,000 |
Two lines explain most of the gap between a cheap and an expensive Bali trip: the airfare from your city on your dates (₹50,000 to ₹1,10,000 for two) and what kind of room you sleep in (₹15,000 to ₹1,75,000 for five nights). Everything else – driver, tickets, food – moves by tens of thousands, not lakhs.
Flight cost to Bali from Indian cities
Return economy fares per person, booked six to eight weeks ahead outside peak weeks, as seen in November 2026. Double them for a couple. All Bali flights land at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar (DPS); Bali is 2½ hours ahead of India.
| From | How you get there (November 2026) | Return fare per person |
|---|---|---|
| Delhi | Air India non-stop on several days a week; IndiGo daily with a stop at Bhubaneswar, which IndiGo plans to fly non-stop from January 2027; one-stops via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok | ₹28,000 – 45,000 one-stop; about ₹35,000 – 55,000 non-stop |
| Bengaluru | IndiGo daily non-stop, overnight, about 7 hours | ₹26,000 – 42,000 |
| Mumbai | IndiGo daily, currently with a stop in Chennai on the same aircraft; one-stops via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok | ₹28,000 – 45,000 |
| Chennai | Boards the IndiGo Mumbai–Bali flight, about 6 hours to Bali; one-stops via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur | ₹24,000 – 40,000 |
| Hyderabad | No non-stop; via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Bengaluru | ₹30,000 – 48,000 |
| Kolkata | No non-stop; via Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Singapore, about 8½–12 hours | ₹28,000 – 45,000 |
| Ahmedabad | No non-stop; via Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or an Indian hub | ₹28,000 – 42,000 |
| Pune | No non-stop; via Mumbai, Bengaluru, Delhi or Bangkok | ₹32,000 – 50,000 from Pune, or Mumbai fares plus the drive |
Peak dates – Diwali week, 20 December to 5 January and the April–June school holidays – usually take every row to ₹40,000 – 65,000 per person. Bags: AirAsia, Batik Air, Scoot and Thai AirAsia often sell checked baggage separately; adding 20 kg each way costs roughly ₹2,500 – 5,000 per person, which can erase the saving on a "cheap" fare. Each city page explains its own routings in detail: Bali from Delhi, from Bengaluru, from Chennai, from Hyderabad, from Kolkata, from Pune and from Ahmedabad.
Visa on arrival, Bali levy and arrival card: the fixed entry cost
| Item (as of November 2026) | Per person | For a couple |
|---|---|---|
| e-VOA or visa on arrival, 30 days, extendable once | IDR 500,000 (about ₹2,650) | about ₹5,300 |
| Bali tourist levy, once per trip | IDR 150,000 (about ₹800) | about ₹1,600 |
| All Indonesia arrival card (customs and health declaration) | Free | Free |
| Total entry cost | about ₹3,450 | about ₹6,900 |
- A fee increase has been announced, not applied. On 12 August 2026 Indonesia's immigration chief presented a plan to raise the fee to IDR 750,000 for an e-VOA bought online and IDR 1,000,000 for a visa bought at the airport counter. As of early November 2026 the official fee we see is still IDR 500,000 and no start date has been confirmed. If the change comes in, a couple's entry cost would rise to about ₹9,500 with an e-VOA, or about ₹12,200 if bought on arrival – one more reason to apply online.
- Use only official sites: the e-VOA on the Indonesian immigration portal (evisa.imigrasi.go.id), the levy on the Bali government's Love Bali portal (a .go.id address), and the arrival card on the All Indonesia system. Look-alike sites charge service fees of ₹2,000 or more for the same forms.
- We prepare and submit the e-VOA as part of a package; approval is at the discretion of Indonesian immigration. Every step is explained on our Bali visa guide for Indians.
Stay costs: hotel, pool villa or resort
Per room per night for two adults, with breakfast, including Bali's 10% government tax and the usual service charge, outside 20 December – 5 January. Most couples split the trip between Ubud and a beach area.
| Tier | Typical room | Ubud | Seminyak / Uluwatu / Jimbaran | Kuta / Sanur | Nusa Dua |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | 3-star hotel or villa sharing a pool | ₹2,500 – 4,500 | ₹3,500 – 5,500 | ₹2,500 – 4,500 | Few options |
| Mid-range | 4-star or one-bedroom villa with its own pool | ₹5,500 – 11,000 | ₹6,500 – 12,000 | ₹5,000 – 9,000 | ₹8,000 – 13,000 (resort) |
| Premium | 5-star resort, luxury jungle or cliff villa | ₹16,000 – 35,000+ | ₹15,000 – 35,000+ | ₹12,000 – 20,000 | ₹14,000 – 30,000 |
- Five nights for two therefore costs about ₹15,000 – 25,000 in the budget tier, ₹32,000 – 55,000 mid-range and ₹80,000 – 1,75,000 premium.
- "Pool villa" is not always a private pool. Many listings mean a room opening onto a shared lagoon. A genuine private pool usually adds ₹1,500 – 3,000 a night in the same area.
- Check the "++". Some Bali properties quote rates plus 21% tax and service. A ₹6,000 villa quoted "++" is really about ₹7,260.
- Honeymoon extras that villas sell: floating breakfast IDR 300,000 – 500,000 (₹1,600 – 2,600) per couple, flower bath or bed decoration IDR 250,000 – 600,000, a private in-villa dinner ₹4,000 – 9,000.
Transport costs: driver, transfers and boats
Bali has almost no public transport that visitors can rely on, so a private car with a driver is the normal way to sightsee. Scooters are cheap but are behind most tourist injuries, and most Indian driving licences are not valid for them.
| Item | Price in Bali | In rupees |
|---|---|---|
| Airport to Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran or Nusa Dua (private car) | IDR 250,000 – 400,000 | ₹1,300 – 2,100 |
| Airport to Ubud (about 1½ hours) | IDR 350,000 – 500,000 | ₹1,850 – 2,650 |
| Car with English-speaking driver, up to about 10 hours, fuel included | IDR 600,000 – 900,000 per day | ₹3,200 – 4,700 |
| Fast boat Sanur – Nusa Penida, return | IDR 300,000 – 500,000 per person | ₹1,600 – 2,650 |
| Nusa Penida day trip with boat, island car, lunch (shared group) | IDR 900,000 – 1,400,000 per person | ₹4,700 – 7,400 |
| Nusa Penida day trip, private car on the island | IDR 1,300,000 – 2,000,000 per person | ₹6,800 – 10,500 |
| Grab or Gojek car, short trips in the south | IDR 40,000 – 150,000 | ₹200 – 800 |
A typical 5-night couple plan uses two airport or transfer drives, three or four full driver days and one Nusa Penida day: about ₹12,000 – 18,000 for two on a budget, ₹16,000 – 24,000 with a private car every day and a private island tour. Tip the driver IDR 50,000 – 100,000 a day if you are happy with him; it is customary, not compulsory.
Sightseeing tickets and activity prices
Adult prices per person as of November 2026; most temples include sarong hire or lend one at the gate.
| Sight or activity | Price | About in ₹ |
|---|---|---|
| Uluwatu Temple entry | IDR 50,000 | ₹260 |
| Kecak fire dance at Uluwatu | IDR 150,000 | ₹800 |
| Tanah Lot, Tirta Empul, Monkey Forest (each) | IDR 50,000 – 100,000 | ₹260 – 530 |
| Tegalalang rice terraces (entry and farmer donations) | IDR 25,000 – 50,000 | ₹130 – 260 |
| Bali swing with photos | IDR 200,000 – 500,000 | ₹1,050 – 2,650 |
| Mount Batur sunrise trek with guide and breakfast | IDR 600,000 – 900,000 | ₹3,200 – 4,700 |
| Ayung river rafting with lunch | IDR 450,000 – 800,000 | ₹2,400 – 4,200 |
| Balinese massage, 60 minutes | IDR 150,000 (local spa) – 1,200,000 (resort) | ₹800 – 6,300 |
| Couple photoshoot, 1–2 hours | IDR 1,500,000 – 3,000,000 per couple | ₹8,000 – 16,000 |
| Jimbaran beach candle-light dinner | IDR 1,000,000 – 1,800,000 per couple | ₹5,300 – 9,500 |
| Beach club day bed or minimum spend | IDR 500,000 – 2,000,000 per couple | ₹2,600 – 10,500 |
The classic first-trip list for a couple – Uluwatu with Kecak, Tanah Lot, the Ubud temples and terraces, one swing session and a couple massage – comes to about ₹8,000 – 14,000 for two. Add the photoshoot, a candle-light dinner, a resort spa and a beach club, and it becomes ₹25,000 – 45,000. Decide which extras matter before you go; they are where Bali budgets quietly double.
Food and drink costs for two
- Warungs (local eateries): nasi campur, mie goreng or gado-gado for IDR 30,000 – 70,000 (₹160 – 370) a plate. Vegetarians should ask for no terasi (shrimp paste) and no fish sauce.
- Cafés in Ubud, Canggu and Seminyak: IDR 90,000 – 180,000 (₹470 – 950) a dish before tax.
- Indian restaurants in Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Nusa Dua and Ubud: about ₹800 – 1,500 per person for a full vegetarian meal. Jain meals are possible mainly at Indian restaurants or through a villa cook briefed in advance.
- Tax and service: sit-down restaurants usually add 15 – 21% to the menu price; check the bottom of the menu.
- Drinks: water and fresh juices are cheap; imported wine and spirits are heavily taxed, so a bottle of wine in a restaurant often costs ₹4,000 – 8,000. Local Bintang beer is the economical choice.
Daily food budget for a couple, breakfast already included at the hotel: about ₹2,000 – 3,000 eating at warungs with one Indian meal, ₹3,500 – 6,000 at cafés and Indian restaurants, and ₹7,000 – 14,000 with resort dining and drinks. For five days that is ₹10,000 – 15,000, ₹18,000 – 30,000 and ₹35,000 – 70,000.
SIM, insurance, forex and tax on your payment
- Mobile data: an eSIM bought in India before you fly costs about ₹500 – 1,500 per person for a week; a Telkomsel tourist SIM at the airport is IDR 150,000 – 300,000. Indian roaming packs are usually dearer.
- Travel insurance: about ₹600 – 1,500 per person for a 7-day trip, more for travellers over 60. It covers medical treatment, which is expensive at private hospitals in Bali, and missed connections on one-stop routes.
- Exchange rate: roughly 190 rupiah to the rupee in November 2026, so IDR 100,000 is about ₹525. A quick way to convert: drop the last three zeros and multiply by five, then add a little.
- Cash: carry about IDR 1,000,000 – 2,000,000 (₹5,300 – 10,500) per couple for temple tickets, markets, tips and small warungs; use a forex or credit card elsewhere. Change money only at authorised changers or bank ATMs.
- TCS: when you buy an overseas tour package in India, Tax Collected at Source of 2% is collected; you get it back by adjusting it against your income tax when you file your return. GST at 5% applies to the package invoice. Forex for your own travel attracts no TCS up to ₹10 lakh in a financial year.
For a couple, SIM and insurance together add about ₹2,500 – 5,000.
Line-by-line budget: Bali for a couple, 5 nights
Example route: Ubud 2 nights and a beach area 3 nights, with a Nusa Penida day. All figures are for two people together.
| Cost line | Budget | Mid-range | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Return flights for two | ₹52,000 – 64,000 | ₹60,000 – 80,000 | ₹75,000 – 1,10,000 |
| Visa on arrival and levy | ₹6,900 | ₹6,900 | ₹6,900 |
| Stays, 5 nights with breakfast | ₹15,000 – 25,000 | ₹32,500 – 55,000 | ₹80,000 – 1,75,000 |
| Transfers, driver and boat | ₹12,000 – 18,000 | ₹16,000 – 24,000 | ₹24,000 – 40,000 |
| Tickets and activities | ₹8,000 – 14,000 | ₹15,000 – 28,000 | ₹30,000 – 60,000 |
| Lunches and dinners | ₹10,000 – 15,000 | ₹18,000 – 30,000 | ₹35,000 – 70,000 |
| SIM, insurance, tips | ₹2,500 – 4,000 | ₹3,000 – 5,000 | ₹5,000 – 8,000 |
| Total for two | ₹1,06,400 – 1,46,900 | ₹1,51,400 – 2,28,900 | ₹2,55,900 – 4,69,900 |
The premium column can go well past ₹5 lakh with butler villas or a business-class fare; the range shows a sensible five-star trip, not the ceiling.
5, 6 or 7 nights: how the total changes
Flights and entry fees do not grow with extra nights, so each additional night costs only the room, a day of food, and possibly a driver day or one more activity.
| Trip length (couple, flights included) | Budget | Mid-range | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 nights / 6 days | ₹1,06,000 – 1,47,000 | ₹1,51,000 – 2,29,000 | ₹2,56,000 – 4,70,000 |
| 6 nights / 7 days | ₹1,13,000 – 1,56,000 | ₹1,64,000 – 2,48,000 | ₹2,88,000 – 5,25,000 |
| 7 nights / 8 days | ₹1,20,000 – 1,65,000 | ₹1,77,000 – 2,67,000 | ₹3,20,000 – 5,80,000 |
| Each extra night adds about | ₹7,000 – 9,000 | ₹13,000 – 19,000 | ₹32,000 – 55,000 |
Because the airfare is fixed, the cost per night falls as the trip gets longer: a mid-range 7-night trip costs only about 17% more than a 5-night one. From cities without a non-stop – Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune – the journey eats a large part of the first and last days, so a sixth night is usually better value than it looks. For a day-by-day plan that uses a week well, see our 7-day Bali trip plan from India.
Package or do it yourself: what actually differs
A couple can book Bali themselves; many do. A package is not automatically cheaper or dearer – the difference is in specific lines.
- Villas: agents with Bali ground partners usually get contracted villa rates below the public price in high season, and can swap a villa that does not match its photos. In low season, public deals are often just as good.
- Driver and Nusa Penida: package drivers are vetted and the boat day is moved if the sea is rough; booking on the spot can be cheaper but you take the risk of a no-show.
- Flights: no agent can make the fare itself much lower. What a good agent adds is choosing connections of 2 – 5 hours rather than the cheapest 12-hour layover, with bags included.
- Paperwork: doing the e-VOA, levy and arrival card yourself on the official sites costs nothing extra. If you use a package, check that these appear as line items rather than being hidden.
- Problems on the ground: the real value of a package is one number to call when a flight is rescheduled or a villa overbooks.
Whichever route you choose, compare like with like: the same villa names, private or shared transfers, and whether the boat trip is shared or private.
Twelve ways to bring a Bali trip cost down
- Pick May, June or September. They are dry-season months with lower villa rates than July and August.
- Avoid 20 December – 5 January and Diwali week, when both fares and villas jump.
- Consider November to March if you are flexible. It is the wet season, usually an afternoon storm rather than all-day rain, and villa rates outside the New Year fortnight fall noticeably.
- Book flights six to eight weeks ahead for normal dates and three to four months ahead for festival dates.
- Compare the non-stop with a good one-stop. Sometimes the non-stop costs less once bags are added to a low-cost one-stop fare.
- Use a cheaper hub city. If your city's fares are high, a domestic hop to Bengaluru, Chennai or Delhi for their Bali flights can save ₹5,000 or more per person.
- Splurge on one villa, not every night. Two nights in a private-pool villa in Ubud and three in a good beach hotel gives most of the experience for far less.
- Stay in fewer places. Every hotel change costs a transfer and half a day.
- Apply for the e-VOA online, especially if the announced higher counter fee comes in.
- Eat one meal a day at a warung and keep Indian restaurants for dinner.
- Choose a shared Nusa Penida tour if you are comfortable with a group of 8 – 12; a private boat day costs about twice as much.
- Get a quote that lists every line – flights with bags, named villas, private or shared transfers, tickets – so the cheapest headline is not the most expensive trip.
If your limit is firm, our guides to international trips under ₹1 lakh and honeymoon destinations abroad compare Bali with Thailand, Vietnam and others on the same terms.
Honest notes before you budget
- Prices here are ranges, not quotes. Fares change daily and villas price by demand; we give a live figure only for your dates.
- Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence, closes the whole island including the airport for 24 hours – on 9 March in 2027. A trip that overlaps it needs an extra night, not a cancellation.
- Nusa Penida boats are sometimes cancelled in rough seas between December and February; keep that day flexible.
- Traffic in the south is heavy. A plan that crosses the island twice a day costs more in driver hours and gives less time at each place.
- Medical costs at international clinics are high, which is why insurance belongs in every budget above.
- Exchange rate: a 3 – 4% move in the rupiah changes the ground cost of a mid-range trip by only about ₹3,000 – 4,000 for two; airfare matters far more.
How Vibrant Holidays prices a Bali trip
- Every line visible: flights with baggage, named villas and hotels, private or shared transfers, tickets, the e-VOA and the levy shown separately.

- Vegetarian and Jain meals requested in writing with villas and tour operators, with Indian restaurants noted near each stay.

What is the Bali trip cost for a couple from India?
For 5 nights, a couple usually spends about ₹1.06 to 1.47 lakh together on a budget trip, ₹1.5 to 2.3 lakh for a mid-range honeymoon with private pool villas, and ₹2.6 lakh or more for five-star stays. These totals include return flights, visa, levy, stays, a driver, sightseeing, meals, SIM and insurance, but not shopping.
Is ₹1 lakh enough for a Bali trip for two?
Only just, and only with care. You would need a sale fare from a city with a non-stop or cheap one-stop, a 3-star hotel or shared-pool villa, a driver on just two or three days, a shared Nusa Penida tour and mostly warung meals, outside peak weeks. For a private pool villa and a relaxed plan, budget at least ₹1.5 lakh.
How much is the flight ticket to Bali from India?
As of November 2026, return economy fares are usually about ₹24,000 to 50,000 per person booked six to eight weeks ahead, depending on the city. Chennai and Bengaluru tend to be the cheapest, Pune and Hyderabad dearer. Diwali, Christmas–New Year and school holidays push fares to ₹40,000 to 65,000.
What is the Bali visa fee for Indians in 2026?
As of November 2026, the e-VOA or visa on arrival costs IDR 500,000, about ₹2,650, for 30 days and can be extended once. Bali also charges a tourist levy of IDR 150,000, about ₹800. Indonesia announced plans in August 2026 to raise the visa fee, but no start date has been confirmed.
How much does a private pool villa in Bali cost per night?
A one-bedroom villa with its own pool usually costs about ₹5,500 to 12,000 a night for two with breakfast, outside the New Year peak. Budget villas with a shared pool start around ₹2,500, while luxury villas with butler service in Ubud or Uluwatu run from ₹16,000 to well above ₹35,000.
How much money should a couple carry to Bali?
If stays, driver and tours are prepaid, carry about IDR 1,000,000 to 2,000,000, roughly ₹5,300 to 10,500, in cash for temple tickets, markets, tips and small eateries, plus a forex or credit card for restaurants, spas and shopping. Change money only at authorised changers or bank ATMs.
Is Bali cheaper than the Maldives for a honeymoon?
Yes, by a wide margin for most couples. A mid-range Bali honeymoon with private pool villas costs about ₹1.5 to 2.3 lakh for two including flights, while a comparable Maldives resort with seaplane or speedboat transfers and meals usually costs considerably more. Bali also offers more to do beyond the room.
How much does a 7-day Bali trip cost for a couple?
A 6-night, 7-day trip costs about ₹1.13 to 1.56 lakh for two on a budget and ₹1.64 to 2.48 lakh mid-range, flights included. Each extra night adds roughly ₹7,000 to 9,000 on a budget or ₹13,000 to 19,000 mid-range, because flights and entry fees stay the same.
What is the cheapest time to visit Bali from India?
November to March, excluding 20 December to 5 January, has the lowest villa rates because it is the wet season, with frequent afternoon storms. In the dry season, May, June and September are cheaper than July and August. Diwali week and school holidays raise flight prices from Indian cities.
How much is the Nusa Penida trip from Bali?
A shared day trip with the fast boat from Sanur, an island car and lunch usually costs IDR 900,000 to 1,400,000, about ₹4,700 to 7,400 per person. A private car on the island raises it to roughly ₹6,800 to 10,500. Trips can be cancelled in rough seas from December to February.
Is food expensive in Bali for Indian vegetarians?
Not very. Local vegetarian plates at warungs cost about ₹160 to 370, and a full vegetarian meal at an Indian restaurant about ₹800 to 1,500 per person. Remember that sit-down restaurants add 15 to 21% tax and service, and ask for no shrimp paste in local dishes.
Do I pay TCS on a Bali package?
Yes. Buying an overseas tour package in India attracts 2% Tax Collected at Source, which is credited against your income tax when you file your return, so it is not a final cost. GST also applies to the package invoice. Forex bought for your own travel has no TCS up to ₹10 lakh a year.
