Europe is the trip Gujarati families plan for years, and the one where the details decide whether it is wonderful or exhausting: which countries to combine in the days you have, how the Schengen visa works from Ahmedabad, where you will find Jain and Gujarati food in Interlaken or Venice, and what the real cost is once visa, insurance, forex and the optional tours are added. We have been planning Europe from our C G Road office for 11 years, and this page puts all of that in one place.
Every package below is live with today's price and every one is a private, customised itinerary – your own dates, your own hotels, private transfers or first-class rail, no coach full of strangers. Below the packages: the 2026 cost guide and itemised budget, how to fly from Ahmedabad, three day-wise routes (7, 10 and 14 nights), a Schengen visa walkthrough for Gujarat residents, a month-by-month table, the places that deserve your time, food and hotel advice for Gujarati travellers, and twelve FAQs.
Europe tour package price guide (2026)
Europe packages on this page start at ₹53,999 per person. The number of countries and nights sets the base; hotel category (3-star city hotels versus 4-star central hotels) and the Swiss excursions you include (Jungfraujoch and Mt Titlis are each a significant line item) move it further. Typical per-person prices on twin sharing, excluding international flights, including hotels with breakfast, intercity travel, private or scheduled transfers and the listed sightseeing:
| Trip | Standard (3★) | Deluxe (4★) | Premium (4★ superior / 5★) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7N/8D Switzerland + Paris (honeymoon) | ₹1,35,000 – 1,65,000 | ₹1,75,000 – 2,20,000 | ₹2,80,000+ |
| 10N/11D Central Europe – Paris, Switzerland, Austria, Italy | ₹1,90,000 – 2,30,000 | ₹2,40,000 – 3,00,000 | ₹3,80,000+ |
| 14N/15D Grand Europe – Netherlands to Italy | ₹2,60,000 – 3,10,000 | ₹3,20,000 – 4,00,000 | ₹5,00,000+ |
| 5N/6D Switzerland only | ₹1,05,000 – 1,30,000 | ₹1,40,000 – 1,75,000 | ₹2,30,000+ |
What a Europe trip really costs – itemised
| Item (per adult) | Typical 2026 range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Return flights Ahmedabad – Europe | ₹55,000 – 85,000 | Via Mumbai/Delhi or a Gulf hub; higher in May–June and December |
| Schengen visa fee + VFS service charge | About €90 fee (children 6–12 half, under 6 free) + service charge | Paid in rupees at the current rate; we confirm the amount at the time of application |
| Travel insurance (Schengen-compliant, €30,000 cover) | ₹1,500 – 4,000 | Mandatory for the visa; higher for seniors |
| Jungfraujoch / Mt Titlis excursions | ₹12,000 – 20,000 each | Often included in Deluxe packages; check the quote |
| Lunches, dinners not included, coffee, water | ₹2,500 – 4,500 per day | Indian thali dinners ₹1,200–2,000 per head in Swiss towns |
| City taxes, tips, local transport | ₹8,000 – 15,000 per trip | City taxes are paid at the hotel in cash or card |
| Shopping and souvenirs | Your call | Swiss chocolate and watches, Paris perfumes, Murano glass |
Usually extra on the ground: Eiffel Tower summit tickets, Seine cruise, Colosseum and Vatican skip-the-line entries, gondola ride in Venice, Disneyland Paris, and any meal not stated. Every quote lists inclusions and exclusions side by side, and we never quote a Europe price that silently omits the visa.
How to reach Europe from Ahmedabad
- No non-stop flights: Ahmedabad does not have a direct flight to any European city, so every trip is one-stop. The two sensible routings are via Mumbai or Delhi on an Indian or European carrier (Mumbai–Zurich / Paris / Frankfurt is about 8 h 30 min to 9 h 30 min) or via a Gulf hub – Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi – with Ahmedabad–Gulf about 3 hours and Gulf–Europe about 6–7 hours. Total journey time is 11–15 hours either way.
- Which to choose: Gulf carriers depart Ahmedabad late at night, give you a morning arrival in Europe and often the lowest fares; the Mumbai/Delhi routing keeps you on one Indian ticket with a shorter connection. We compare both for your dates and book Ahmedabad onwards on a single ticket so baggage is checked through and a missed connection is the airline's responsibility.
- Open-jaw tickets: fly into Paris or Amsterdam and out of Rome or Zurich so you never back-track. This is standard on all our 10- and 14-night routes and costs little or nothing extra.
- Inside Europe: we use a mix of first- or second-class rail (Paris–Switzerland by TGV in about 4 hours; the Swiss Travel Pass covers trains, boats and many mountain lifts), private car transfers for families with seniors and luggage, and short low-cost flights where rail is slow (for example Amsterdam–Rome). Everything is pre-booked with seat reservations.
- Time: Central Europe is 3 h 30 min behind India in summer and 4 h 30 min in winter; the overnight flight means little jet lag on arrival.
Three Europe itineraries from Ahmedabad – 7, 10 and 14 nights
7 nights / 8 days – Switzerland + Paris (honeymoon and first-timers)
- Day 1: Overnight flight Ahmedabad–Zurich via a Gulf hub or Mumbai; arrive morning, train or private transfer to Interlaken (about 2 hours); evening walk by the lake.
- Day 2: Jungfraujoch, "Top of Europe" – cogwheel train and the Eiger Express gondola to 3,454 m, Ice Palace, snow at any time of year; return via Grindelwald.
- Day 3: Lake Brienz cruise or Harder Kulm viewpoint in the morning; train to Lucerne (about 2 hours); Chapel Bridge, Lion Monument, old town.
- Day 4: Mt Titlis day – rotating cable car, cliff walk, Ice Flyer; evening Lake Lucerne cruise.
- Day 5: Train to Paris (about 4 h 30 min via Basel); evening Seine river cruise.
- Day 6: Paris – Eiffel Tower (second floor or summit), Louvre exterior and pyramid, Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe; dinner in the Indian quarter near Gare du Nord.
- Day 7: Versailles half day or Disneyland Paris (full day) – your choice; Montmartre at sunset.
- Day 8: Fly Paris–Ahmedabad.
10 nights / 11 days – Central Europe: Paris, Switzerland, Austria, Italy (families)
- Day 1–3: Paris – arrival, Eiffel Tower, Seine cruise, Louvre, Versailles or Disneyland.
- Day 4–6: Train to Switzerland; two nights Interlaken with Jungfraujoch, one night Lucerne with Mt Titlis.
- Day 7: Private transfer or rail through Liechtenstein to Innsbruck, Austria – Swarovski Crystal Worlds, Golden Roof, old town.
- Day 8: Drive over the Brenner Pass to Venice (about 4 hours); evening gondola or vaporetto to St Mark's Square.
- Day 9: Venice morning – St Mark's Basilica, Doge's Palace, Rialto; afternoon high-speed train to Florence (about 2 hours); Duomo, Ponte Vecchio.
- Day 10: Pisa half day (Leaning Tower) then train to Rome (about 1 h 30 min); Trevi Fountain at night.
- Day 11: Rome – Colosseum, Vatican Museums and St Peter's (skip-the-line pre-booked); late-evening flight home, or add a 12th night.
14 nights / 15 days – Grand Europe: Amsterdam to Rome
Start in Amsterdam (canals, Zaanse Schans windmills, Keukenhof tulips in April), travel by rail to Brussels and Paris (3 nights), on to Switzerland (3 nights, Interlaken and Lucerne with both mountain excursions), through Innsbruck to Venice, Florence and Rome (5 nights in Italy), and fly home from Rome. A Germany variant swaps Brussels for Cologne and the Rhine valley; a Prague–Vienna–Budapest variant replaces Italy for travellers who have seen it. Fifteen days is also the length at which a senior-friendly pace – one hotel for 2–3 nights at a time, no 5 am departures – becomes genuinely comfortable.
Honeymoon, family or seniors – how we adapt the same route
- Honeymooners: boutique hotels, Paris at the end rather than the start, a Lauterbrunnen or Wengen night in the mountains, a Seine dinner cruise and a Venice gondola at sunset.
- Families with children: Disneyland Paris, Swarovski Crystal Worlds, the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne, apartments or connecting rooms, and Indian dinners pre-booked so nobody is hunting for food at 8 pm.
- Parents and grandparents: private car transfers instead of station changes, hotels with lifts near the centre, one mountain excursion rather than two, and rest afternoons built in. Europe is very walkable, so we mention honestly where cobbles and stairs are unavoidable.
Schengen visa from Ahmedabad – a step-by-step walkthrough
No competitor explains this for Gujarat residents, and it is the part of a Europe trip that causes the most anxiety. Here is how it works in 2026 and how we handle it. One rule up front: we prepare and submit your application and sit with you through the appointment; approval is at the embassy's discretion, and anyone who promises a guaranteed visa is misleading you.
- Which country's visa? You apply to the Schengen country where you will spend the most nights (your "main destination"); if nights are equal, the country you enter first. For a Switzerland + Paris trip with 4 nights in Switzerland and 3 in Paris, that is Switzerland. A single Schengen visa then covers all 29 member states on the trip. The UK is not in Schengen – adding London means a separate UK visa and 3–6 extra weeks.
- Where to apply from Gujarat: applications for Gujarat residents fall under the consulates in Mumbai, but biometrics and document submission are done at the VFS Global visa application centre in Ahmedabad for most of the Schengen countries we route through. For a few countries without an Ahmedabad counter, the appointment is in Mumbai; we tell you at the planning stage so you can choose a main destination that avoids the travel.
- When to apply: you may apply up to 6 months before travel and no later than 15 days before. Standard processing is up to 15 calendar days after the appointment and can stretch to 45 days in busy periods. Appointment slots for April–June travel are scarce from February onwards, so we start your file 10–12 weeks before departure and book the appointment the day your flights are held.
- Documents we collect from you: passport valid at least 3 months beyond your return with two blank pages (plus old passports), two photographs to Schengen specification, the completed application form (we fill it), a cover letter with the day-by-day itinerary, confirmed flight and hotel bookings, Schengen-compliant travel insurance with €30,000 medical cover, bank statements for the last 3–6 months, income-tax returns for the last 3 years, salary slips and a leave letter from the employer (or company registration and GST returns for business owners), and for children a birth certificate and a consent letter from any parent not travelling. Retired parents sponsored by a son or daughter add a sponsorship letter and the sponsor's financials.
- Biometrics: fingerprints and a photograph are taken at the appointment, and are valid for 59 months, so if you have given Schengen biometrics in the last five years the appointment is shorter. Children under 12 are exempt from fingerprints.
- Fee: about €90 per adult, €45 for children 6–12, free under 6, paid in rupees at the current rate, plus the VFS service charge and optional courier. We tell you the exact rupee amount on the day.
- Multiple-entry and long validity: travellers with a previous Schengen visa used correctly are often granted a multi-year multiple-entry visa – worth asking for, and we request it in the cover letter.
Common reasons for refusal are weak proof of funds, an itinerary that does not match the bookings, and insurance that does not cover every day of the trip. Our file check is designed around exactly these three points.
Best time to visit Europe – month by month
| Months | Weather | Good for | Prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| April | Spring, 10–18°C, tulips in Holland, snow still on the Alps | Keukenhof, quieter cities, honeymoons; Easter week busy | Moderate; good hotel value before May |
| May – June | Pleasant 15–25°C, long days until 9.30 pm, mountains open | Gujarat May vacation – the single most popular Europe month from Ahmedabad; families, first-timers | High; flights and Swiss hotels sell out, book by February |
| July – August | Warm to hot, 25–35°C in Paris and Italy, pleasant in Switzerland | Mountain-focused trips; European school holidays mean crowds in Italy | Highest in cities; long queues at major sights |
| September – October | Mild 12–22°C, clear Alpine views, autumn colour, fewer crowds | Honeymoons, seniors, Diwali trips (usually October) – our favourite months to send families | Moderate, falling after mid-October |
| November | Cold and grey, 5–12°C, short days; some mountain lifts closed for maintenance | City breaks, shopping, Christmas markets open from late November | Lowest of the year |
| December – February | Cold, 0–8°C, snow in the Alps; festive lights in Paris and Vienna | Christmas markets, snow for children in Switzerland, winter honeymoons | Low except Christmas–New Year week |
| March | Late winter, slowly warming | Budget travellers, skiing, cities without crowds | Low to moderate |
If you must travel in the May vacation, confirm by January–February: visa appointments, Jungfraujoch slots and Interlaken hotels all tighten from March. If your dates are flexible, late September to mid-October gives the best weather-to-price ratio and coincides with Diwali holidays most years.
Places to visit in Europe – where first-timers should go
- Interlaken and the Jungfrau region, Switzerland: Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald First, Lauterbrunnen's waterfalls, Lake Thun and Brienz – the Switzerland of every Gujarati family's imagination.
- Lucerne and Mt Titlis: the Chapel Bridge town plus a glacier at 3,020 m by rotating cable car; the easiest high-mountain day for seniors.
- Zermatt or Zurich: the Matterhorn's Gornergrat railway for an extra night, or Zurich's lake and Bahnhofstrasse for a last-day stroll.
- Paris: Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Seine cruise, Montmartre, Versailles and Disneyland Paris for children.
- Venice: St Mark's Square, the gondola, Murano and Burano islands – stay on the island, not the mainland, for at least one night.
- Florence and Pisa: the Duomo, Michelangelo's David and the Leaning Tower on a single comfortable day.
- Rome and the Vatican: Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, St Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel; two full days minimum.
- Innsbruck and Austria's Tyrol: Swarovski Crystal Worlds and Alpine scenery on the road between Switzerland and Italy; Salzburg and Vienna for a longer Austria stay.
- Amsterdam: canal cruise, Zaanse Schans windmills and cheese farm, Keukenhof tulip gardens (mid-March to mid-May).
- Prague, Vienna and Budapest: the Central European alternative to Italy – fairy-tale old towns, river cruises and lower prices.
- Germany's Rhine valley and Black Forest: castles, cuckoo clocks and the Titisee lake; a natural link between Amsterdam and Switzerland.
- Barcelona and Spain: Sagrada Família, Park Güell and the Mediterranean – best as a separate trip or a 12-night-plus extension.
Food, hotels and tips for Gujarati travellers in Europe
- Gujarati, Jain and pure-veg food: easier than most people fear on the classic route. Interlaken, Lucerne, Engelberg and Zurich have Indian restaurants, several run by Gujarati families, serving thali, dal-rice and Jain dishes on request; Paris has an Indian quarter near Gare du Nord (La Chapelle) with South Indian and Gujarati options; Rome, Florence and Venice each have multiple Indian restaurants, and Italian food itself – margherita pizza, pasta with tomato or pesto, risotto – is naturally vegetarian. We pre-book Indian dinners on request so that a tired family is not searching at night, and we plan Jain meals city by city, telling you honestly where options are thin (small Alpine villages, Pisa).
- Breakfast: European hotel breakfasts are bread, cheese, fruit, eggs, cereal and juice; vegetarians eat well, Jains should expect bread, fruit and cereal. Carrying theplas, khakhra, chevdo and ready-to-eat pouches is normal and sensible; most hotel rooms have a kettle on request.
- Hotel categories: Standard means 3-star hotels, often a tram ride from the centre, with small rooms by Indian standards; Deluxe means 4-star hotels in or near the centre with lifts and larger rooms; Premium means 4-star superior or 5-star – lake-view in Lucerne, a palace hotel in Paris. Triple rooms and family rooms are limited in Europe and are booked early.
- Money: carry a forex card loaded in euros plus some euro cash for city taxes, small cafés and tips; Switzerland uses the Swiss franc but accepts euros in most tourist places (change in francs). Inform your bank before travel; Indian credit cards work widely.
- Pack: layers – a warm jacket for the mountains in any month, a light rain jacket, very comfortable walking shoes (you will walk 8–12 km a day), a universal adaptor, and medicines with a prescription copy.
- Safety: Europe is safe; pickpocketing in Paris, Rome and on Italian trains is the one real risk. Use a cross-body bag, keep passports in the hotel safe, and carry photocopies.
- Timings and closures: many museums close on Monday or Tuesday, shops close early on Sunday, and the Vatican closes on most Sundays; our itineraries are sequenced around these.
- SIM and connectivity: an EU e-SIM or a Europe roaming pack covers all Schengen countries; buy before you leave Ahmedabad.

Europe tour packages – frequently asked questions
How much does a Europe tour package cost from Ahmedabad?
Europe packages on this page start at ₹53,999 per person. A 7-night Switzerland + Paris trip with 3-star hotels costs about ₹1,35,000–1,65,000 per person excluding flights; a 10-night four-country trip ₹1,90,000–2,30,000. Add ₹55,000–85,000 for return flights from Ahmedabad, the Schengen visa fee and insurance. A realistic all-in budget for 10 nights is ₹2,75,000–3,50,000 per person.
Is there a direct flight from Ahmedabad to Europe?
No. All Europe flights from Ahmedabad are one-stop – via Mumbai or Delhi on an Indian or European carrier, or via Dubai, Doha or Abu Dhabi. Total journey time is 11–15 hours. We book Ahmedabad onwards on one ticket and use open-jaw routing (into Paris or Amsterdam, out of Rome or Zurich) so you never back-track.
How does the Schengen visa work from Ahmedabad?
You apply to the country where you spend the most nights, through the VFS Global centre in Ahmedabad for most Schengen countries (Mumbai for a few). Apply 6 weeks to 6 months before travel; processing takes up to 15 days, longer in peak season. We prepare and submit the file and book the appointment; approval is at the embassy's discretion.
Which countries should a first-time visitor to Europe choose?
Switzerland and Paris in 7 nights if it is a honeymoon or your first trip; add Austria and Italy for 10 nights as a family; Amsterdam to Rome in 14 nights for the grand tour. Switzerland is the one country almost every Gujarati family puts first, and Italy the one they wish they had given more days.
How many days are enough for Europe?
Seven nights covers two countries well. Ten nights is the sweet spot for Paris, Switzerland, Austria and Italy without exhaustion. Fourteen nights allows five or six countries at a comfortable pace with 2–3 nights per hotel, which is what we recommend for parents and grandparents.
When is the best time to visit Europe?
May–June and September–October have the best weather. May–June coincides with the Gujarat school vacation and is the busiest and most expensive; late September to mid-October is pleasant, cheaper and usually overlaps with Diwali holidays. December is for Christmas markets and snow, and April for tulips in Holland.
Is Jain and Gujarati food available in Europe?
On the classic route, yes. Interlaken, Lucerne, Zurich, Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome all have Indian restaurants, several Gujarati-run, serving thali and Jain food on request, and Italian food is largely vegetarian. We plan meals city by city, pre-book Indian dinners when you want them, and tell you honestly where to rely on packed theplas.
Are flights, visa and insurance included in the package price?
The prices on this page are land packages – hotels, intercity travel, transfers and listed sightseeing. We add flights from Ahmedabad, the Schengen visa fee and VFS charge, and Schengen-compliant insurance as separate, clearly listed lines so that you see the true total before you pay. Nothing is hidden in a "from" price.
Is a Europe trip suitable for senior citizens?
Yes, with the right design: private car transfers instead of station changes, central hotels with lifts, 2–3 nights per city, one mountain excursion rather than two, and afternoons free. Europe involves walking and cobbled streets, so we tell you exactly where that is unavoidable. Many of our Europe travellers are parents in their sixties and seventies travelling with their children.
Do you run group tours to Europe?
No. Every Europe trip we plan is a private, customised itinerary – your own dates, hotels and pace. Extended families and friend groups travel together as a private group of their own; you do not share a coach with strangers or follow a pre-set calendar. Indian and Jain meals are planned city by city.
Can I add London or Eastern Europe to a Europe trip?
Yes. London needs a separate UK visa (allow 3–6 extra weeks) and adds 3 nights with a Eurostar connection from Paris. Prague, Vienna and Budapest can replace Italy on the 10-night route or extend the 14-night route. Scandinavia, Spain and Greece suit a second Europe trip.
How far in advance should I book a Europe trip?
For May–June travel, confirm by January–February – visa appointments, Jungfraujoch slots, Interlaken hotels and reasonable airfares all tighten from March. For September–October travel, book by June–July. The absolute minimum is 6–7 weeks before departure to complete the visa safely.
Where do I apply for a Schengen visa in Ahmedabad?
At the VFS Global visa application centre in Ahmedabad, which accepts applications and biometrics for most Schengen countries; the file is processed by the relevant consulate in Mumbai. We prepare and submit your complete file, book the appointment and brief you before it. Approval is at the embassy's discretion, but a complete, consistent file is what counts.
How much is the Schengen visa fee and how long does processing take?
The Schengen visa fee is €90 for adults and €45 for children aged 6–11, free below 6, plus the VFS service charge and optional courier fees, payable in rupees. Processing is officially up to 15 calendar days from the appointment and can extend to 45 days in peak season; most Ahmedabad files for Switzerland, France and Italy come back in 7–15 working days.
Is Indian, pure-veg or Jain food available on a Europe tour?
Yes. Every city on the main routes has Indian restaurants, and Paris, Interlaken and London have Gujarati-run places serving thali and Jain meals. We book Indian dinners near your hotels and note Jain requirements in writing. Most Gujarati families also carry theplas, khakhra and ready-to-eat packets; hotel breakfasts are bread, fruit, cereals and cheese.
When should I start planning a Europe trip from Ahmedabad?
Three to four months before travel, and five months for April–June or Christmas travel. The visa file can be submitted up to six months ahead, and VFS Ahmedabad slots for May travel fill by February. Flights from Ahmedabad are cheapest 8–12 weeks out, and Jungfraujoch and Eiffel Tower timed tickets open about two months ahead.
Is a Europe trip from Ahmedabad a group tour or a private trip?
Private. Every Europe trip we plan is a private, customised itinerary – your own family, your own dates and pace, with trains or a private vehicle and Indian meals where you want them. Extended families and friend groups travel together as a private group on their own dates, often in a minivan or coach of their own.
Do I need a separate visa for London or Turkey?
Yes. The United Kingdom is not in Schengen and needs a UK standard visitor visa, applied online with biometrics at VFS Ahmedabad; allow 3–6 weeks. Turkey needs its own e-visa for Indian passport holders, which is quick. We sequence the two applications so you do not surrender your passport to both at once.
