Beach Holiday Packages

From a Diu weekend to a Seychelles villa – beach holidays matched to the right month, the right coast and the right kind of traveller, with flights from Ahmedabad.

Gujarat has 1,600 km of coastline and almost no swimming beaches, which is why beach holidays are the most-booked kind of leisure trip from Ahmedabad. The choice has grown from "Goa or Daman" to a dozen coasts within 1 to 8 hours of SVPI Airport – and each has a season, a price band and a personality. Thailand's islands are rough in September; the Maldives is cheapest then. Goa is quiet in June; Bali is perfect.

This page sorts it out: every beach destination we plan from Ahmedabad, when the sea is calm and the sky is clear, what it costs per person, which beaches suit a honeymoon and which suit a family of six, and how pure-veg and Jain food works on each coast. Every trip is private – your own dates, your own transfers, hotels chosen for your family.

Goa – North or South, and which beach

Goa is a 1 h 20 min non-stop flight from Ahmedabad and the default beach holiday for Gujarat. The only decision that matters is which coast:

  • North Goa – Candolim, Calangute, Baga, Anjuna, Vagator, Morjim: busy, water sports, markets, nightlife, restaurants within walking distance, Gujarati thali easy to find in Calangute. Best for first-timers, friend groups and families who want things to do.
  • South Goa – Colva, Benaulim, Varca, Cavelossim, Agonda, Palolem: wide quiet beaches, large resorts with pools, slower evenings. Best for honeymoons, leisure stays and families with grandparents.
  • What to include: a half-day North Goa tour (Fort Aguada, Chapora, Anjuna), a half-day South and Old Goa tour (Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral, Miramar, Dona Paula), a sunset cruise on the Mandovi, and a day at Grand Island or Dudhsagar falls (October–January) if you like.
  • Food: pure-veg and Jain is easy – Gujarati, Rajasthani and South Indian vegetarian restaurants line Calangute and Candolim, and most resorts cook Jain on request.

Andaman – India's clearest water

Port Blair is reached via Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata or Hyderabad (about 6–8 hours total from Ahmedabad). The standard 5–6 night trip: 2 nights Port Blair (Cellular Jail light show, Ross Island, Corbyn's Cove), 2 nights Havelock (Radhanagar – regularly rated among Asia's best beaches – Elephant Beach snorkelling, scuba), 1 night Neil (Bharatpur beach, natural bridge). Private ferries (Makruzz, Nautika, Green Ocean) connect the islands in 1½–2 hours; we book them with your package because they sell out. Sea walk and scuba are suitable for non-swimmers. Pure-veg food is available in all hotels on request and Port Blair has several vegetarian restaurants. Avoid June to September when ferries are cancelled for days.

Kerala beaches, Diu and Daman – the quieter Indian coasts

  • Kovalam: three crescent beaches below a lighthouse, Ayurveda resorts, 20 minutes from Thiruvananthapuram airport. Pairs with a Munnar–Alleppey loop or stands alone for a week of Ayurveda.
  • Varkala: a red cliff above the sea, cafés on the cliff path, a temple beach – more relaxed and younger than Kovalam.
  • Marari and Cherai: empty village beaches near Alleppey and Kochi; Marari's resorts are among Kerala's best for honeymoons.
  • Diu: 7–8 hours by road or a short flight; Nagoa beach for water sports, Ghoghla for calm swimming, the fort, St Paul's church and Naida caves. The cleanest beaches within Gujarat's reach, and Somnath is 90 minutes away for a darshan.
  • Daman: 6 hours by road or a train to Vapi; Devka and Jampore beaches, sea-facing resorts with pools, the fort and churches. A 2-night winter break, not a swimming holiday.

International beaches – Maldives, Thailand, Bali, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Seychelles

  • Maldives: one island, one resort, water at your door. Choose a 4★ beach villa (₹75,000–1,20,000 per person for 3–4 nights including flights) or add a water-villa night (₹1,50,000–2,50,000). Speedboat transfers are cheaper and faster than seaplanes for resorts near Malé. Free visa on arrival for Indians; vegetarian menus are strong at the resorts we shortlist.
  • Thailand: non-stop Ahmedabad–Bangkok, then a short flight to Phuket or Krabi. Phuket (Kata, Karon, Patong) for variety and families; Krabi (Ao Nang, Railay) for limestone cliffs and quiet; Phi Phi and the Similans by speedboat; Koh Samui for couples. Visa-free entry for Indians at present. Indian and Jain restaurants are in every resort town.
  • Bali: Seminyak and Canggu for beach clubs and sunsets, Nusa Dua for calm resort beaches and families, Uluwatu for cliffs and surf, Nusa Penida and the Gili islands for snorkelling. Bali's beaches are for sunsets and surf more than swimming; pair them with Ubud. Visa on arrival.
  • Sri Lanka: Bentota and Hikkaduwa (south-west, November–April) for calm water and turtles; Mirissa for whale watching (December–April); Trincomalee and Pasikudah (east, May–September) for the opposite season. Combine with Kandy and Ella. Free ETA for Indians.
  • Mauritius: all-round family and honeymoon beach destination with Indian culture, Hindi widely understood and Indian food everywhere; resorts on half-board; Ile aux Cerfs, catamaran cruises, underwater walk. Visa-free for Indians. Best May to December.
  • Seychelles: Anse Source d'Argent (La Digue), Anse Lazio (Praslin), Beau Vallon (Mahé) – granite-boulder beaches that are the most photographed in the world. Quieter and greener than the Maldives; island-hop by ferry. Visa-free for Indians.

Pure-veg food, safety and practical tips on the coast

  • Food: Goa, Diu, Daman, Mauritius and Thailand's resort towns have Gujarati or Indian vegetarian restaurants within walking distance of the main beaches. Kerala, Andaman and Sri Lanka hotels cook pure-veg on request. In the Maldives and Seychelles you eat at the resort, so we choose properties with strong vegetarian menus and inform the chef about Jain requirements in advance.
  • Sea safety: swim only on lifeguard-patrolled beaches and between the flags (Goa's Drishti lifeguards, Radhanagar, Patong); rip currents are real in the monsoon and on Bali's west coast. Children wear life jackets for every water sport – it is the rule, not an option.
  • Sun: SPF 50, a hat and a rash vest for children; the midday sun between 11 and 3 is stronger than Ahmedabad's.
  • Water sports pricing: parasailing, jet ski and banana boat at Baga or Nagoa cost ₹500–2,000 per ride; scuba intro dives ₹3,500–6,000; Phi Phi speedboat day trips ₹3,000–5,000. We list these as optional on your quote so you choose on the day.
  • Ferries and seaplanes: Andaman ferries and Maldives seaplanes have luggage limits and fixed slots; we book them with the package and keep a buffer before the return flight.

Beach holiday packages – frequently asked questions

Which is the best beach destination from Ahmedabad?

Goa for value and ease – a 1 h 20 min non-stop flight and ₹18,000–32,000 per person for 3–4 nights including flights. Andaman for the clearest water in India, Thailand for the best-value international beach, the Maldives for the ultimate luxury stay. Diu and Daman are the quick weekend options by road.

How much does a beach holiday package cost?

Daman or Diu weekends by road start under ₹10,000 per person. Goa costs ₹18,000–32,000 and Kerala beaches ₹28,000–42,000 including flights. Andaman is ₹38,000–60,000, Thailand ₹48,000–80,000, Bali ₹58,000–95,000, Mauritius ₹85,000–1,30,000, and the Maldives ₹75,000–2,50,000 depending on the villa.

When is the best time for a beach holiday from India?

November to March for Goa, Kerala, Andaman, Diu, Daman, the Maldives, Thailand's west coast and Sri Lanka's south-west coast. April to October for Bali, Mauritius and Sri Lanka's east coast. The Maldives in June–September has showers but 30–40% lower resort rates, which many couples happily trade.

Which beach destination is best for a honeymoon?

Under ₹1 lakh for two: South Goa, Marari or Kovalam, or Havelock. ₹1–2 lakh: Phuket–Krabi, Bali or Sri Lanka. Above ₹2 lakh: a Maldives water villa, Seychelles or Mauritius. We add honeymoon décor, a candle-light dinner on the beach and a confirmed room category to every honeymoon booking.

Which beaches are good for families with small children?

Candolim and Calangute in North Goa, Nusa Dua in Bali, Mauritius's lagoon beaches, Kovalam, and Ghoghla in Diu – all have calm shallow water, resorts with kids' pools and food nearby. Andaman and Phuket suit teenagers who want scuba and water sports. We always confirm life jackets and lifeguard-patrolled beaches for children.

Is pure-vegetarian or Jain food available at beach destinations?

Yes. Goa, Diu, Daman, Mauritius and Thailand's resort towns have Gujarati or Indian vegetarian restaurants near the beaches. Kerala, Andaman and Sri Lanka hotels cook pure-veg on request. In the Maldives and Seychelles we choose resorts with strong vegetarian menus and brief the chef on Jain requirements before you arrive.

Goa or Andaman – which should we choose?

Goa for a short, cheap, easy trip with nightlife, restaurants and water sports, best in 3–4 nights. Andaman for clear water, snorkelling and scuba, Radhanagar beach and a quieter atmosphere, best in 5–6 nights and about double the cost because of the longer flights and ferries. Families with teenagers usually prefer Andaman; friend groups prefer Goa.

Maldives or Bali for a beach holiday?

Maldives for a pure do-nothing beach stay in one resort with over-water villas – 3–4 nights is enough. Bali for variety – beaches plus temples, rice terraces, pool villas and nightlife – over 5–6 nights at roughly two-thirds of the cost. Bali's beaches are better for sunsets and surf than swimming; the Maldives wins on water quality.

Do Indians need a visa for international beach destinations?

Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles and Sri Lanka (free ETA) are visa-free or visa-on-arrival for Indians. Thailand is visa-free for tourists at present. Bali has a paid visa on arrival. Rules change, so we confirm the current requirement when you book; where an application is needed we prepare and submit it, and approval is at the authority's discretion.

How many days are enough for a beach holiday?

Two nights for Daman or Diu, three to four for Goa, four to five for Kerala beaches, five to six for Andaman, Thailand, Bali, Sri Lanka and Mauritius, and three to four for the Maldives, where resort costs make longer stays expensive. Add two nights if you are combining the beach with hills or culture.
