Visa-free entry, Indian food on every corner and resorts for couples and families alike – 14 Mauritius packages priced live for departure from Ahmedabad.
Mauritius is the island we recommend most often to Gujarati families who want their first long-haul beach holiday without worrying about visas, food or language. Roughly two-thirds of the population traces its roots to India, Hindi and Bhojpuri are widely understood, dal-puri is street food, and a Shiva temple on a crater lake is one of the main sights. Honeymooners get white beaches and catamaran days; parents get a comfortable resort, short drives and vegetarian food without explanation.
Every package below is on sale today with a live price. Further down you will find the 2026 price guide by hotel category, how to fly from Ahmedabad, three day-wise itineraries, a coast-selection guide so you book the right side of the island, a month-by-month table including the cyclone window, the places worth your time, food and hotel tips for Gujarati travellers, and twelve FAQs.

Mauritius Honeymoon Romance Retreat
Mauritius tour package price guide (2026)
Mauritius packages on this page start at ₹19,999 per person. The main cost drivers are the hotel category, the meal plan (half board is standard; all-inclusive is worth it for families) and how many excursion days you add. Typical per-person prices on twin sharing, excluding flights, with airport transfers and the listed excursions included:
| Trip | Standard (3★, half board) | Deluxe (4★ beach resort, half board) | Premium (5★ resort, all-inclusive) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4N/5D honeymoon, one resort | ₹38,000 – 48,000 | ₹55,000 – 75,000 | ₹1,00,000+ |
| 5N/6D with north + south tours and Ile aux Cerfs | ₹45,000 – 58,000 | ₹65,000 – 90,000 | ₹1,20,000+ |
| 6N/7D classic with catamaran day | ₹52,000 – 68,000 | ₹75,000 – 1,05,000 | ₹1,40,000+ |
| 8N/9D Dubai + Mauritius combo | ₹85,000 – 1,05,000 | ₹1,10,000 – 1,50,000 | ₹2,00,000+ |
Add for flights: Ahmedabad–Mauritius return fares via Mumbai are usually ₹45,000–65,000 per person when booked 8–10 weeks ahead; December and the May vacation run higher, and the Dubai routing can be cheaper on some dates. Usually extra on the ground: optional water sports at the beach, undersea walk or submarine, quad biking, Casela park add-ons, lunches on free days if you are on half board, tips and personal expenses. Every quote lists inclusions and exclusions side by side.
How to reach Mauritius from Ahmedabad
- Via Mumbai (recommended): fly Ahmedabad–Mumbai (about 1 h 15 min) and connect to the non-stop Mumbai–Mauritius flight, which takes about 6 h 30 min. We book the Ahmedabad leg on the same ticket wherever possible so your bags are checked through and a delay is the airline's problem, not yours.
- Via Dubai or other Gulf hubs: Ahmedabad–Dubai–Mauritius is a longer day (about 3 hours plus 6 h 30 min, plus the layover) but fares are competitive in some months, and it makes the popular Dubai + Mauritius combination seamless – stop in Dubai for 3 nights on the way out, fly on to Mauritius, return to Ahmedabad.
- Entry for Indians: Indian passport holders enter Mauritius visa-free for tourism; you receive the entry stamp on arrival with a passport valid for six months, a confirmed hotel booking, a return ticket and proof of funds. Mauritius also asks for an online arrival form before you fly. Rules can change, so we confirm the current requirement for your travel date and complete the form with you.
- Time and getting around: Mauritius is 1 h 30 min behind India. Our packages use private air-conditioned cars with English- and Hindi-speaking drivers; the island is only about 65 km long, so no drive is longer than 90 minutes. Shared coach tours are available in Standard packages to keep the price down.

8 nights / 9 days – Dubai + Mauritius
Three nights in Dubai on the outbound leg (Burj Khalifa, desert safari, Dubai Mall, Abu Dhabi day trip if time permits) followed by five nights in Mauritius on the route above. Two very different holidays on one set of flights, and the most popular combination we sell to extended Gujarati families celebrating an anniversary or retirement.
Senior citizens
For parents and grandparents we book resorts with ground-floor rooms and a calm lagoon, keep one tour per day with a 9.30 am start, replace the long catamaran day with a shorter speedboat trip to Ile aux Cerfs, and make sure Grand Bassin – the Shiva temple most senior Gujaratis want to visit – is done in the cool of the morning.
Which coast to stay on – the Mauritius resort guide
Mauritius is ringed by resorts and the coast you choose changes the holiday more than the star rating does. This is the decision no competitor page explains properly.
| Coast | Main areas | Character | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| North | Grand Baie, Trou aux Biches, Mont Choisy, Pereybere | Calm, sheltered lagoon; the island's restaurant, shopping and nightlife hub within walking distance; most Indian restaurants | First-timers, families, anyone who wants to step out of the resort in the evening |
| West | Flic-en-Flac, Tamarin, Wolmar | Long sandy beach, the best sunsets, dolphin trips from Tamarin, close to Casela and Chamarel | Honeymooners who want sunsets and sightseeing on short drives; good value 4-star resorts |
| South-west | Le Morne peninsula | Dramatic Le Morne mountain backdrop, UNESCO site, kite-surfing lagoon, mostly 5-star resorts; quiet | Luxury honeymoons, photographers; fewer eating-out options |
| East | Belle Mare, Trou d\'Eau Douce | Widest, whitest beaches; windier June–September; closest to Ile aux Cerfs | Resort-only holidays; summer (Nov–Apr) couples |
| South | Bel Ombre, Blue Bay | Wild coast, Blue Bay marine park for snorkelling, 15 minutes from the airport | Snorkellers; a convenient first or last night |
Our default recommendation for a first visit from Ahmedabad is the north or west coast: the water is calm in every season, drives to all sights are under an hour, and Grand Baie's Indian and Chinese-Mauritian restaurants are a few minutes away. The east coast is beautiful but choose it only for a November–April trip, because the south-east trade winds make its beaches breezy in the Mauritian winter.
Honeymoon benefits: most 4-star and 5-star resorts offer complimentary honeymoon extras – room décor, a cake, a romantic dinner, sometimes an upgrade or spa discount – against a marriage certificate dated within six months of travel. We attach the certificate to the booking and confirm what is included in writing.
Best time to visit Mauritius – month by month
| Months | Weather | Good for | Prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| May – June | Start of the Mauritian winter; 20–26°C, dry, sunny, little humidity | Gujarat May vacation – families and post-wedding honeymoons; some of the best weather of the year | Moderate; good 4-star value after the Easter rush |
| July – August | Coolest months, 18–24°C, breezy on the east and south coasts, sea slightly cooler | Sightseeing, hikes in Black River Gorges, couples who dislike heat | Lowest of the year outside European school holidays |
| September – October | Warming up, calm seas return, flowering season | Everyone; Diwali trips (usually October) in near-perfect weather | Moderate, rising towards Diwali and Christmas |
| November – December | Warm summer, 25–31°C, occasional short showers | Honeymoons, Christmas–New Year family holidays | High; festive weeks have surcharges and sell out by October |
| January – March | Hot, humid, the official cyclone season; most years pass with a few rainy days, some years see a storm | Budget travellers who accept weather risk; Maha Shivratri pilgrims to Grand Bassin (usually February–March) | Lower after the first week of January; keep travel insurance |
| April | Transition – humidity dropping, seas calm | Couples, snorkellers | Moderate |
Mauritius sits in the southern hemisphere, so its seasons are reversed from Gujarat's: our hottest months are its coolest. For the May vacation it is one of the very few international beach destinations with cool, dry weather. Diwali week is our busiest departure period; we open bookings for it in July.
Places to visit in Mauritius
- Ile aux Cerfs: the island-off-the-island with a shallow turquoise lagoon, reached by speedboat or catamaran; the single most popular day for every traveller type.
- Chamarel: the seven-coloured earth dunes and the 100-metre Chamarel waterfall; combine with a rum-distillery stop for the adults.
- Ganga Talao (Grand Bassin): a crater lake with Shiva, Hanuman and Durga temples and a 33-metre Shiva statue; the Maha Shivratri pilgrimage draws hundreds of thousands of Mauritians each year.
- Black River Gorges National Park: viewpoints over forested gorges and waterfalls, short walks and the occasional endemic pink pigeon.
- Le Morne Brabant: the UNESCO-listed mountain at the south-west tip; a 3–4-hour guided hike for the fit, a photo stop for everyone else.
- Port Louis: the capital – Caudan Waterfront, the central market for spices and dholl puri, Aapravasi Ghat where Indian indentured labourers first landed, and the Champ de Mars racecourse.
- Pamplemousses botanical garden: giant Victoria amazonica water lilies, talipot palms and spice trees; an easy hour for all ages.
- Casela Nature Park: safari bus among zebras and giraffes, big-cat enclosures, zip-lines and quad trails; the best half-day for children.
- Grand Baie: the lively north – shopping bazaar, Super U supermarket for snacks, restaurants of every cuisine, glass-bottom boats.
- Tamarin bay: early-morning dolphin-watching trips with high sighting rates.
- Blue Bay marine park: the clearest snorkelling on the island, 15 minutes from the airport.
- Trou aux Cerfs: a dormant volcano crater in Curepipe with views across the island; a ten-minute stop on the south tour.
Food, hotels and tips for Gujarati travellers
- Vegetarian and Jain food: Mauritius is the easiest long-haul island for vegetarians. Dholl puri (a thin split-pea flatbread with curry), gateau piment (chilli fritters), faratas and bean curries are everyday street food and all vegetarian. Grand Baie, Flic-en-Flac and Port Louis have Indian restaurants, several of them run by Gujarati or North Indian families, and resort buffets always carry an Indian vegetarian section. Jain meals are arranged at the resort on advance request – we confirm it in writing with your booking.
- Meal plans: half board (breakfast and dinner) is standard and works well because lunch is usually at Ile aux Cerfs or in Grand Baie. For families with children and for all-day resort stays, all-inclusive saves money and arguments.
- Hotel categories on this page: Standard is a 3-star hotel or guesthouse near the beach, typically in Grand Baie or Flic-en-Flac; Deluxe is a 4-star beachfront resort; Premium is a 5-star resort, often on the west or south-west coast. We name the hotel on every quote.
- Language and culture: English and French are official, Creole is spoken daily, and Hindi and Bhojpuri are widely understood. Temples, mosques and churches stand side by side; Diwali is a public holiday.
- Money: the Mauritian rupee (MUR). Change a small amount at the airport and use cards at resorts and restaurants; carry some cash for the market and small cafés. Indian cards work; UPI does not.
- Pack: a light jacket for June–August evenings, reef shoes for the lagoons, sunscreen, motion-sickness tablets for the catamaran, and a scarf or dupatta for Grand Bassin temple.
- Sundays and public holidays: Port Louis market and many shops are closed on Sunday; we schedule the north tour on a weekday.
- Connectivity: a local SIM costs a few hundred rupees at the airport; resort Wi-Fi is free almost everywhere.

Mauritius tour packages – frequently asked questions
How much does a Mauritius tour package cost?
Mauritius packages on this page start at ₹19,999 per person. A 6-night classic trip with a 4-star beach resort on half board, north and south tours, Ile aux Cerfs and a catamaran day costs ₹75,000–1,05,000 per person excluding flights; a 3-star version is ₹52,000–68,000. Ahmedabad–Mauritius return flights via Mumbai add about ₹45,000–65,000 per person.
Do Indians need a visa for Mauritius?
No visa is required in advance. Indian passport holders are stamped in on arrival for tourism with a passport valid six months, a confirmed hotel booking, a return ticket and proof of funds, plus the online arrival form. Entry rules can change, so we confirm the current requirement for your date and complete the form with you before departure.
Is there a direct flight from Ahmedabad to Mauritius?
No. The non-stop flight to Mauritius departs from Mumbai and takes about 6 h 30 min; we book Ahmedabad–Mumbai on the same ticket so bags are checked through. Flying via Dubai is the alternative and makes a Dubai + Mauritius combination easy. Total journey time from Ahmedabad is 9–12 hours.
How many days are enough for Mauritius?
Six nights is the ideal: two tour days (north and south-west), one Ile aux Cerfs or catamaran day, one Casela or free day and arrival and departure days. Honeymooners can do it in four or five nights with one tour day and one island day. Eight nights lets you add Dubai on the way.
Which coast of Mauritius is best to stay on?
The north (Grand Baie, Trou aux Biches) for a calm lagoon, restaurants and shopping within walking distance; the west (Flic-en-Flac) for sunsets and short drives to Chamarel and Casela; the south-west (Le Morne) for luxury honeymoons. Choose the east (Belle Mare) only between November and April, when it is not windy.
Is vegetarian and Jain food easy to find in Mauritius?
Very easy. Two-thirds of Mauritians are of Indian origin, so dholl puri, faratas and vegetable curries are everyday food, and Grand Baie, Flic-en-Flac and Port Louis have Indian restaurants. Resort buffets carry Indian vegetarian dishes, and Jain meals are prepared on advance request, which we confirm in writing.
When is the best time to visit Mauritius?
May to December. May–June and September–October have the best balance of sunshine, calm seas and price; July–August is cooler and cheapest; November–December is warm, high season. January–March is hot, humid and the cyclone season, so prices are lower but travel insurance matters. The May vacation from Gujarat lands in excellent weather.
Is Mauritius good for a honeymoon?
Yes, especially for couples who want beaches plus things to do. A 4- or 5-night stay on the west or north coast with a catamaran day, a Chamarel–Grand Bassin tour and a sunset photoshoot at Le Morne is our most-booked honeymoon. Resorts give décor, cake and a romantic dinner against a marriage certificate under six months old.
Is Mauritius suitable for senior citizens and children?
It is one of the easiest international destinations for both. Drives are under 90 minutes, English and Hindi are understood, food is familiar and the lagoons are calm. For seniors we book ground-floor rooms, one tour a day and Grand Bassin in the morning; for children Casela park, Ile aux Cerfs and glass-bottom boats fill the days.
What is usually not included in a Mauritius package?
Flights unless you ask us to add them, optional water sports and undersea walk, quad biking and Casela activity add-ons, lunches on free days when you are on half board, tips, personal expenses and travel insurance. Airport transfers, the listed tours and the stated meal plan are always included and listed line by line.
Can I combine Mauritius with Dubai or Seychelles?
Yes. Dubai + Mauritius (3N + 5N) is our most popular combination because the Dubai routing makes the stopover free of extra flights. Mauritius + Seychelles is a 9–10-night luxury honeymoon with a short inter-island flight. Mauritius + Reunion suits travellers who want hiking and a volcano after the beach.
How far in advance should I book Mauritius?
For December, the May vacation and Diwali week, book 8–10 weeks ahead – the Mumbai–Mauritius flight has limited seats and beachfront rooms sell out first. For other months 5–6 weeks is enough. Resort early-bird offers are typically best 60 days before travel, and we pass them on in full.
