India's own island holiday – Radhanagar beach, coral at Elephant Beach and a sunset at Neil – 31 Andaman packages with ferries, flights from Ahmedabad and vegetarian food arranged.
The Andaman Islands are where Gujarati honeymooners and families go when they want a Maldives-style sea without a passport. Port Blair (officially Sri Vijaya Puram), Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) and Neil (Shaheed Dweep) form the classic triangle: Cellular Jail and Ross Island on the first day, Radhanagar beach and snorkelling at Elephant Beach on Havelock, and the natural bridge and quiet sunrise beaches of Neil. Five or six nights is the sweet spot; four works for a honeymoon.
What makes or breaks an Andaman trip is logistics – the flight connection from Ahmedabad, the ferry timings between islands, and the weather window. This page sets them out plainly: a price guide, the flight routings via Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru, a ferry table with booking lead times, three day-wise itineraries, a month-wise sea-conditions table and honest notes on vegetarian food at Havelock and Neil.

Andaman tour package price guide (2026)
Packages on this page start at ₹12,000 per person. Andaman land costs are driven by three things: hotel category (Havelock's beach resorts are the most expensive rooms in the islands), the number of private ferry legs, and water activities. The bands below are per person on twin sharing with breakfast, private transfers, sightseeing and private ferry tickets, excluding flights and water sports.
| Trip | Standard (3★) | Deluxe (4★ / beach resorts) | Premium (5★ / luxury resorts) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3N/4D Port Blair with Havelock day trip | ₹12,000 – 16,000 | ₹19,000 – 26,000 | ₹38,000+ |
| 4N/5D Port Blair – Havelock (honeymoon) | ₹15,000 – 20,000 | ₹24,000 – 32,000 | ₹48,000+ |
| 5N/6D Port Blair – Havelock – Neil | ₹18,000 – 24,000 | ₹29,000 – 40,000 | ₹60,000+ |
| 6N/7D complete Andaman with Baratang and scuba | ₹23,000 – 30,000 | ₹36,000 – 48,000 | ₹75,000+ |
Add for flights: Ahmedabad–Port Blair return fares via Chennai, Kolkata or Bengaluru are usually ₹18,000–32,000 per person when booked 6–8 weeks ahead, and noticeably higher for Diwali, Christmas–New Year and the May vacation. Usually extra on the ground: scuba diving (introductory dive about ₹3,500–5,000), sea walk at North Bay, glass-bottom boat and jet-ski rides, Cellular Jail light-and-sound show tickets, Baratang permit and convoy charges, and lunches on island days. Every quote shows a full breakdown of land, flights, activities and 5% GST.
How to reach the Andamans from Ahmedabad
There is no non-stop flight from Ahmedabad to Port Blair. Every trip connects through a mainland hub, and choosing the right one decides whether your first day is a sightseeing day or a waiting day.
| Routing | Hub to Port Blair | Typical total time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ahmedabad – Chennai – Port Blair | About 2 h 15 min | 6–8 h | Most frequent; early-morning Ahmedabad departures connect to a Port Blair arrival by early afternoon |
| Ahmedabad – Kolkata – Port Blair | About 2 h 15 min | 6–8 h | Good fares in the Diwali season; several daily Port Blair flights from Kolkata |
| Ahmedabad – Bengaluru – Port Blair | About 2 h 45 min | 6–8 h | Useful when Chennai fares spike |
| Ahmedabad – Delhi / Hyderabad – Port Blair | 3–4 h / 2 h 30 min | 7–9 h | Fewer options; Delhi has operated a non-stop to Port Blair on some schedules |
- Arrival timing matters: flights into Port Blair land between late morning and mid-afternoon, and nearly all departures leave in the morning or around noon. We plan Day 1 as Port Blair sightseeing and the last night in Port Blair, never on Havelock, so you are not racing a ferry to catch a flight.
- Same-day or overnight connection? A same-day connection with at least 2 hours at the hub is normal and we book both legs on one ticket where possible, so the airline re-accommodates you if the first flight is late. For seniors and families with infants, an evening flight to Chennai or Kolkata, a night there and a morning flight onward is more relaxed.
- Baggage: check-in allowances are standard domestic (usually 15 kg); carry a soft bag for ferry days because luggage is handled on and off the jetty.
- Permits: Indian citizens need no permit for Port Blair, Havelock, Neil or Baratang. Nicobar is a tribal reserve and not open to tourists. Only Baratang's convoy through the Jarawa reserve runs at fixed times and needs a forest permit, which we obtain.
Andaman ferry guide – Port Blair, Havelock and Neil
Ferries are the backbone of an Andaman trip and the most common reason for a spoiled plan. Private air-conditioned catamarans (Makruzz, Nautika, Green Ocean and others) are what we book; government ferries are cheaper but slower, sell tickets at the counter a day or two ahead and are not practical for a tight itinerary.
| Leg | Private ferry time | Typical departures | Fare band (per person, one way) | Booking lead time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Port Blair → Havelock | 1 h 30 min – 2 h | Early morning and midday | ₹1,200 – 2,500 by class | 2–4 weeks; 6–8 weeks for Diwali and December |
| Havelock → Neil | About 1 h | Morning and early afternoon | ₹1,000 – 2,000 | Same as above |
| Neil → Port Blair | 1 h – 1 h 30 min | Late morning and afternoon | ₹1,200 – 2,500 | Same as above |
| Port Blair → Neil (direct) | 1 h – 1 h 30 min | Morning | ₹1,200 – 2,500 | Same as above |
- Classes: economy, premium and royal or luxury lounge; the difference is seat width and deck access, not safety. Premium is worth it for seniors and anyone prone to sea-sickness because the seats are more stable and closer to the toilets.
- Reporting: be at the jetty 60 minutes before departure with a printed ticket and photo ID for every passenger; names must match the ID exactly.
- Weather cancellations: from late May to September rough seas cancel or delay sailings regularly, and occasionally in October–November and May when a depression forms in the Bay of Bengal. We build itineraries with a Port Blair buffer night in those months and hold refundable ferry bookings where operators allow.
- Sea-sickness: take a tablet 30 minutes before boarding, sit mid-ship, avoid a heavy breakfast. Most crossings are calm from December to April.
- Helicopter and seaplane: a government helicopter service to Havelock exists with very limited seats and priority for islanders; we do not sell itineraries that depend on it.

Best time to visit the Andamans – month by month
| Months | Weather and sea | Good for | Prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| October – November | Rain easing, 24–31°C; seas settling, occasional Bay of Bengal depressions | Diwali vacation trips from Gujarat; good hotel deals before peak; Jolly Buoy island reopens around November | High in Diwali week; otherwise moderate |
| December – February | Dry, sunny, 23–30°C; calm, clear water | Peak season – honeymoons, families, scuba and snorkelling at their best visibility | Highest; Christmas–New Year sells out 2–3 months ahead |
| March – April | Hot and humid, 26–33°C; sea still calm | Excellent diving, fewer crowds than December, good value for couples | Moderate |
| May | Hot, 28–34°C; pre-monsoon showers begin late May; ferry disruptions start | Gujarat summer vacation – fine in the first half of May, riskier after the 20th | Moderate to high for the vacation week |
| June – September (monsoon) | Heavy rain, strong winds, rough seas; ferries frequently cancelled; Jolly Buoy closed | Budget travellers who accept weather risk; a Port Blair-only trip is safer than island hopping | Lowest of the year, resorts 30–40% off |
For Gujarati families the two realistic windows are Diwali week (book by August) and December to March. For the May vacation, travel in the first fortnight and keep a buffer night in Port Blair. We do not recommend Havelock–Neil island hopping from June to September.
Places to visit in the Andamans
- Cellular Jail, Port Blair: the Kala Pani prison and its evening light-and-sound show – the one history stop everyone should make.
- Ross Island (Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Dweep): ruins of the British settlement among deer and peacocks, a short boat ride from Port Blair.
- North Bay Island: coral viewing by glass-bottom boat and the sea walk, done with Ross in one morning.
- Radhanagar Beach, Havelock: repeatedly rated Asia's best beach – white sand, shallow swimming and the sunset.
- Elephant Beach, Havelock: the easiest coral snorkelling in the islands, reached by a 20-minute boat ride.
- Kalapathar Beach, Havelock: black rocks, turquoise water and the quietest sunrise on the island.
- Neil Island: Laxmanpur's natural rock bridge at low tide, Bharatpur's shallow coral, Sitapur's sunrise.
- Baratang: mangrove creeks, limestone caves and a mud volcano, reached through the Jarawa tribal reserve by convoy.
- Chidiya Tapu: Port Blair's sunset point and bird-watching beach, 25 km from town.
- Jolly Buoy / Red Skin Island: the coral islands of Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, open alternately by season with a daily visitor cap.
- Corbyn's Cove: the town beach of Port Blair, good for a first evening and for grandparents.
- Diglipur (North Andaman): Ross and Smith twin islands joined by a sandbar, and turtle nesting at Kalipur – for 8-night-plus trips.
Food, hotels and tips for Gujarati travellers
- Pure-veg and Jain food: Port Blair has Gujarati thali and Jain restaurants around Aberdeen Bazaar and a large South Indian vegetarian choice. Havelock has several pure-vegetarian restaurants near the market and the main beach road, and most resorts run a separate veg kitchen; Jain meals are arranged with a day's notice. Neil is the thinnest – a handful of restaurants, so we book half board at the hotel and confirm a pure-veg or Jain menu in writing. Fresh coconut water and fruit are everywhere; carry khakhra and thepla for ferry days.
- Hotel categories: Port Blair has solid 3- and 4-star hotels and a couple of 5-star; Havelock ranges from garden cottages to premium beach resorts near Radhanagar and Govind Nagar – a beachfront room is the one upgrade worth paying for; Neil has comfortable 3-star resorts and a few upscale ones, nothing truly luxury.
- Pack: reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, swimwear and a rash guard for snorkelling, flip-flops, a quick-dry towel, motion-sickness tablets, a waterproof phone pouch and a torch – island power cuts happen.
- Money and connectivity: carry cash; ATMs run dry on Havelock and Neil in season and UPI fails when the network drops. Mobile signal is patchy on the islands; Wi-Fi at resorts is slow. Treat it as a digital detox.
- Timings and rules: Jolly Buoy is open roughly November to May with a daily cap and no plastic allowed; Baratang convoys leave Port Blair very early and photography of the Jarawa is a criminal offence; Cellular Jail show runs in the evening with Hindi and English slots.
- Health: no vaccinations are needed; carry your regular medicines because pharmacies on Neil are basic. Port Blair has a good government hospital.

Andaman tour packages – frequently asked questions
How much does an Andaman tour package cost from Ahmedabad?
Packages on this page start at ₹12,000 per person. A 5-night Port Blair–Havelock–Neil trip with 3-star hotels, private ferries and transfers costs ₹18,000–24,000 per person excluding flights; 4-star beach resorts take it to ₹29,000–40,000. Ahmedabad–Port Blair return flights via Chennai or Kolkata add ₹18,000–32,000 per person, so budget ₹40,000–60,000 all-in for a mid-range trip.
Is there a direct flight from Ahmedabad to Port Blair?
No. Every Ahmedabad–Port Blair journey connects through Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru or occasionally Delhi or Hyderabad, taking 6–9 hours in total. The Chennai routing is the most frequent. We book both legs on one ticket so a late first flight is the airline's problem, and for seniors we suggest an overnight halt at the hub.
How many days are enough for the Andamans?
Five nights is ideal: one or two in Port Blair, two on Havelock and one on Neil. Four nights works for a honeymoon with Port Blair and Havelock only. Six or seven nights lets you add Baratang's caves and a scuba dive. Anything under four nights is not worth the flight time from Ahmedabad.
How far in advance should ferries be booked?
Private ferries between Port Blair, Havelock and Neil should be booked 2–4 weeks ahead in normal season and 6–8 weeks ahead for Diwali, Christmas–New Year and the May vacation, when morning sailings sell out. We book them with your hotels so the sequence is fixed, and choose premium class for seniors.
Which is the best month to visit the Andamans?
December to March has calm seas, clear water and dry weather – ideal for honeymoons and snorkelling. October–November and April are good second choices. The first half of May works for the summer vacation. June to September is the monsoon: rough seas, frequent ferry cancellations and closed marine parks, so we do not recommend island hopping then.
Is pure-vegetarian and Jain food available in the Andamans?
Yes. Port Blair has Gujarati thali and Jain restaurants; Havelock has several pure-veg restaurants and resorts with separate veg kitchens; Neil has fewer options, so we book your meals at the hotel and confirm a pure-veg or Jain menu in writing. Many Gujarati families also carry khakhra, thepla and dry snacks for ferry and boat days.
Is the Andaman trip suitable for senior citizens and small children?
Yes, with sensible planning. Ferry crossings are 1–2 hours in air-conditioned seats; we book premium class and keep island days unhurried. Beaches at Radhanagar, Bharatpur and Corbyn's Cove have shallow, calm water for children. Seniors can skip the North Bay boat and Baratang convoy, and we never schedule a ferry and a flight on the same day.
Do I need a permit to visit the Andaman Islands?
Indian citizens need no permit for Port Blair, Havelock, Neil, Ross, North Bay or Baratang; just carry a photo ID for flights and ferries. The Baratang convoy through the Jarawa reserve runs at fixed times with a forest permit that we arrange. The Nicobar Islands are a protected tribal area and are not open to tourists.
Is scuba diving safe for beginners, and what does it cost?
Yes. Introductory dives at Havelock need no certification or swimming skill – an instructor stays with you at 6–12 metres for about 30–45 minutes after a briefing. It costs roughly ₹3,500–5,000 including gear and photos. Children above 10 and healthy adults up to 60 are generally accepted; people with heart or respiratory conditions should check with a doctor first.
Is Andaman good for a honeymoon compared with the Maldives?
The Andamans give you white-sand beaches, coral snorkelling and beach-resort privacy at roughly a third of the Maldives cost and without a passport. The Maldives wins on overwater villas and resort luxury. Couples with a budget of ₹60,000–80,000 per person all-in choose the Andamans; above ₹1,25,000 per person the Maldives becomes the natural pick.
What is usually not included in an Andaman package?
Flights unless added, scuba diving, sea walk, jet-ski and glass-bottom boat rides, Cellular Jail show tickets, Baratang permit and convoy charges, lunches and dinners unless specified, personal expenses and 5% GST. Ferry tickets, transfers and listed sightseeing are included. Every quote separates land, flights, activities and taxes.
Can I customise the Andaman package for an extended family?
Yes. Every trip is a private, customised itinerary – your own transfers, your own dates. Add Baratang or Diglipur, swap Neil for a third Havelock night, upgrade to a beachfront villa, or add Chennai or Kolkata sightseeing at the hub. Extended families and friend groups travel together as a private group on their own dates. Call 1800-313-4262 or WhatsApp us the package.
