Andaman Tour Packages from Pune
Pune has no direct flight to Port Blair, but its overnight connections land you on the islands before breakfast is over – private Andaman trips planned around that routing, Maharashtra holidays and a Puneri appetite.
Pune is an inland city. Its families know the Sahyadri ghats, Sinhagad on a Sunday morning and the drive down to Alibaug or Ganpatipule, but most Pune children have never put their face in clear sea water. That is the first reason Andaman tour packages from Pune are popular with us: the islands give a family from Kothrud, Aundh or Wakad its first real look at a coral reef, and nobody needs a passport for it. The second reason is history. The Cellular Jail in Port Blair held Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, who studied at Pune's Fergusson College, and for many Marathi families that visit matters as much as the beaches.
The practical question from Pune is the flight. As of November 2026 there is no non-stop between Pune International Airport at Lohegaon (PNQ) and Port Blair (IXZ); every ticket has one stop, usually Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad or Kolkata. This page explains which of those connections actually work, when it is worth driving to Mumbai for its single non-stop, what a trip costs per person, three day-wise plans, the 2026–27 long weekends that suit Pune offices and schools, and food notes for Maharashtrian vegetarian and Jain travellers. Your trip is planned by our team in Ahmedabad and booked on WhatsApp or phone; we have no office in Pune, and every ticket and voucher reaches you as a PDF.

What an Andaman package from Pune costs (2026–27)
We currently list 24 Andaman packages, starting at ₹12,000 per person. The ranges below are per person on twin sharing for the land part only – they exclude the Pune–Port Blair airfare. Each one covers hotels with breakfast, private-catamaran seats between islands, a private AC car on every island for transfers and sightseeing, Cellular Jail entry and the evening show, and the Ross and North Bay boat.
| Trip | Standard (3-star, simple cottages) | Deluxe (4-star, beach resorts) | Premium (top beachfront) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 nights – Port Blair 2, Havelock 2 | ₹16,500 – 22,000 | ₹24,000 – 33,000 | ₹47,000 – 74,000 |
| 5 nights – Port Blair 2, Havelock 2, Neil 1 | ₹20,500 – 27,500 | ₹30,500 – 41,500 | ₹58,000 – 90,000 |
| 6 nights – adds Baratang or a third Havelock night | ₹24,500 – 32,500 | ₹36,000 – 48,500 | ₹69,000 – 1,05,000 |
| 7 nights – family pace, one spare day | ₹28,000 – 37,500 | ₹41,500 – 56,000 | ₹79,000 – 1,20,000 |
Airfare from Pune: one-stop economy returns from PNQ usually cost about ₹16,000 – 28,000 per person when booked six to eight weeks ahead, as of November 2026. Christmas to New Year and the start of the May vacation push them to roughly ₹30,000 – 42,000. Flying from Mumbai on the non-stop can save ₹2,000 – 5,000 a head, but a sedan to Mumbai airport at night costs about ₹4,000 – 6,000 each way, so for a couple it rarely saves anything.
Extras to keep aside: a try dive at Havelock (about ₹4,000 – 7,500), a sea walk at North Bay (about ₹3,500 – 4,500), the Elephant Beach boat (about ₹1,000 – 1,500 a head), glass-bottom or semi-submarine rides, lunches and dinners, and tips. We list each one with an approximate figure on the quote, so you can decide at home in Pune rather than at a counter on the jetty.
Pune to Port Blair: which connection to book (as of November 2026)
All flights from Lohegaon to Port Blair have a stop. What separates a good routing from a bad one is the landing time, because the private catamarans to Havelock leave Port Blair in the morning and early afternoon, and the islands' airport handles most traffic in daylight.
| Routing | Typical timing | Total time | Our view |
|---|---|---|---|
| PNQ – Chennai – Port Blair (overnight) | Leaves Pune roughly between 1 am and 3.30 am, lands about 8.50 – 9.30 am | About 5 – 7½ hours | Our usual pick: you can reach Havelock the same afternoon |
| PNQ – Bengaluru or Hyderabad – Port Blair | Several combinations, some landing late morning or around noon | About 5 – 8 hours | Good when the Chennai link is full; check the layover length |
| PNQ – Kolkata – Port Blair | Evening or late-night start, morning arrival | 8 – 10 hours | Backup only |
| Drive to Mumbai, IndiGo non-stop BOM – IXZ | Leave Pune around 1 – 1.30 am for a dawn departure; lands late morning | About 3 h 20 min in the air plus 3 – 4 hours by road | Rarely better from Pune; useful only when PNQ fares jump |
These are the schedules on sale in early November 2026; airlines change them each season, so we recheck your dates before quoting.
Making the overnight routing comfortable
- The night at Lohegaon: for a 2 am departure, leave Hinjewadi or Baner by about 11 pm; from Hadapsar or Kharadi the airport is close.
- Through-checked bags: book the Pune–Chennai and Chennai–Port Blair legs on one ticket with the same airline so bags go through and a delay on the first flight is the airline's problem, not yours.
- Sleep on day one: after a night flight we keep the first afternoon light – either a midday catamaran to Havelock and a lazy evening, or a nap in Port Blair and the light-and-sound show.
- The return: flights from Port Blair to Pune usually leave in the morning or around midday and reach Lohegaon by evening. Your last night must be in Port Blair, never on Havelock or Neil.
On the islands
- Port Blair is officially Sri Vijaya Puram, Havelock is Swaraj Dweep and Neil is Shaheed Dweep; boarding passes and ferry tickets may use either name.
- Private catamarans take about 1½ – 2½ hours from Port Blair to Havelock, about an hour from Havelock to Neil and about 1 – 1½ hours from Neil back to Port Blair. Government boats are cheaper but are hard to book from Pune.
- Indian citizens need no permit for Port Blair, Havelock, Neil or Baratang. Carry an original photo ID; it is checked at the airport and every jetty.
Three Andaman itineraries for travellers from Pune
5 nights / 6 days – first sea trip for a Pune family
- Day 1: Overnight flight from Lohegaon via Chennai, landing about 9 am. Catamaran to Havelock around noon; evening at Radhanagar beach, where the slope into the water is gentle for children.
- Day 2: Elephant Beach by boat: guided snorkelling with life jackets for everyone above about eight, a glass-bottom ride for the youngest. Free afternoon at the resort pool.
- Day 3: Kalapathar beach early, then a shore snorkelling lesson. Children who learnt swimming at a Pune municipal pool usually manage this comfortably.
- Day 4: Catamaran to Neil. Natural bridge at low tide and the shallows of Bharatpur beach.
- Day 5: Ferry to Port Blair; Cellular Jail in the afternoon and the light-and-sound show at dusk.
- Day 6: Flight home to Pune, usually landing in the evening.
4 nights / 5 days – Shivaji Jayanti long weekend for couples
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti falls on Friday 19 February 2027, a state holiday in Maharashtra. Add Thursday and Monday off for five days.
- Day 1 (Thursday): 2 am departure from PNQ; straight from the airport to the noon catamaran. Sunset at Radhanagar.
- Day 2: Try dive at a Havelock reef in the morning – February water is among the clearest of the year. Kayak in the mangroves later.
- Day 3: Slow morning, then the catamaran to Port Blair; Chidiya Tapu for sunset. No diving on this day if you fly the next morning.
- Day 4: Ross Island and North Bay; dinner near Aberdeen Bazaar.
- Day 5 (Monday): Morning flight; back in Pune by evening, at work on Tuesday.
6 nights / 7 days – history and treks for an active group
- Day 1: Arrive from Pune. Cellular Jail museum in the afternoon, including the cell where Savarkar was held, and the evening show.
- Day 2: Mount Harriet (now Mount Manipur National Park) and the forest trail towards Madhuban, a half-day walk that Sahyadri trekkers enjoy. Ask us early; the forest department sets the rules.
- Day 3: Pre-dawn start for Baratang: the road runs through the Jarawa reserve in a convoy where stopping and photographs are forbidden. Mangrove boat to the limestone caves.
- Day 4: Catamaran to Havelock; afternoon at Radhanagar.
- Day 5: Two dives for certified divers or a try dive plus snorkelling for the rest.
- Day 6: Neil in the morning by boat and back to Port Blair in the evening, or a lazy last day on Havelock and the late catamaran.
- Day 7: Fly back to Pune.
Each plan is private and customised, with your own car on each island and ferry seats booked together. Friends from the same society or office travel as a private group on their own dates.
Long weekends and school breaks from Pune (2026–27)
Pune's Diwali break is already under way as this page is written (Lakshmi Pujan is on 8 November 2026), so the windows below start after it. Dates are from the Maharashtra holiday list; IT companies in Hinjewadi, Kharadi and Magarpatta follow their own lists, so check yours.
| Occasion | Date | Andaman fit | Book by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Guru Nanak Jayanti | Tuesday 24 November 2026 | One day of leave on Monday gives four days at early-season rates | Now |
| Christmas | Friday 25 December 2026 | A Thursday-to-Monday trip; the year's most expensive week | Immediately |
| Republic Day | Tuesday 26 January 2027 | Take Monday off; calm sea and good visibility | By late November |
| Shivaji Jayanti | Friday 19 February 2027 | A natural three-day weekend; four or five days with leave | By December |
| Holi and Good Friday | Monday 22 and Friday 26 March 2027 | Three days of leave in between make a nine-day break | By January |
| Ambedkar Jayanti and Ram Navami | Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 April 2027 | Bridge Friday for a five-day trip; hot but calm | By February |
| Maharashtra Day and the summer vacation | Saturday 1 May 2027; state-board schools close in early May | Go in the first ten days of May only | By February |
The May squeeze: state-board schools in Pune break in early May, and the south-west monsoon usually reaches the Andamans around 20 May. That gives families roughly ten good days. After that, water sports are often suspended and catamarans can be cancelled, so for late May or June we suggest the hills – see our Manali trips from Pune or Kashmir from Pune. CBSE and ICSE schools in Pune may break a little earlier or later; send us the circular.
Ganeshotsav and the rains: Pune's big festival falls in the Andaman monsoon, with rough seas and frequent ferry changes. If you want a beach then, a monsoon drive to Goa from Pune is the easier choice.
Andaman month by month for travellers from Pune
| Month | On the islands | Pune angle | Prices |

| November | Mostly dry; cyclone alerts possible in the Bay of Bengal | Post-Diwali, Guru Nanak Jayanti weekend | Medium-high |
| December | Dry, about 23 – 30°C | Christmas week; Pune's own winter is mild, so the trip is about the sea, not the cold | Peak from about 20 December |
| January | Dry, calm water | Republic Day weekend; good month for first-time snorkellers | High in the first week, then easing |
| February | Excellent visibility | Shivaji Jayanti weekend; wedding-season honeymoons | High |
| March | Warm, calm | Board exams keep families home; Holi break for couples | Medium-high |
| April | Hot, humid, still calm | Mid-April bridge holidays; Pune itself is hot | Medium |
| May | Hot; monsoon arrives around 20 May | First ten days of the summer vacation only | Medium |
| June – September | Heavy rain, rough sea | Not advised; Ganeshotsav season at home | Lowest |
Puneri food, Jain meals and packing for the islands
Eating well away from home
- Port Blair has the widest choice: pure-veg restaurants near Aberdeen Bazaar serve North and South Indian thalis, and South Indian breakfasts are easy to find. You will not find misal or a proper vada pav; carry a packet of bhadang or chivda for the first morning.
- Havelock has a few vegetarian places near the market and the jetty, and most resort kitchens cook dal, rice, rotis and a vegetable to order with notice.
- Neil is very small. Strict vegetarians should eat at the resort and tell the kitchen at breakfast what they want for dinner.
- Jain and no onion-garlic: possible in Port Blair and at larger Havelock resorts with notice; harder on Neil. We print the request on every hotel voucher.
- Fasting days: if someone in the family keeps Ekadashi or a Shravan-style fast, sabudana and fruit are not always available on the smaller islands; pack sabudana khichdi mix or rajgira ladoos from home.
- Seafood: for non-vegetarian Puneri families who enjoy Malvani fish at home, the Andamans' grilled fish, crab and lobster are a highlight. Ask the price by weight before ordering.
Practical notes
- Learn to float first: a few sessions at a Pune swimming pool before the trip make snorkelling far more enjoyable, though no swimming is needed for a try dive, a sea walk or snorkelling in a life jacket.
- Medical forms for diving: dive centres ask about asthma, heart conditions, ear trouble and recent surgery. Get a note from your Pune doctor if any apply.
- Pack: cotton clothes, swimwear, a rash guard, reef-safe sunscreen, a cap, slippers that can get wet, a light rain jacket and motion-sickness tablets for the catamaran. The inter-island boats allow roughly 20 – 25 kg per person.
- Money and network: carry cash for Havelock and Neil, where ATMs are few; mobile data is slow outside Port Blair.
- Respect the reef: do not stand on coral or take shells and coral home; it is an offence under wildlife law.

How much does a Andaman tour package from Pune cost?
Our Andaman packages currently start at ₹12,000 per person for 3 nights. Most of our Andaman packages fall between ₹20,750 and ₹36,500 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from Pune are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
Is there a direct flight from Pune to Port Blair?
No. As of November 2026 every flight from Pune's Lohegaon airport to Port Blair has one stop, usually Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad or Kolkata. The best overnight connections leave Pune between about 1 am and 3.30 am and land around 9 am, which leaves time for a ferry to Havelock the same day.
Should we drive to Mumbai for the non-stop flight to Port Blair?
Usually not. The Mumbai non-stop leaves at dawn, so you would leave Pune around 1 am by road, and a sedan costs about ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 each way. A one-stop ticket from Pune lands at a similar time. Mumbai makes sense only when fares from Pune jump on peak dates.
How much does the Pune to Port Blair flight cost?
As of November 2026, one-stop economy returns from Pune usually cost about ₹16,000 to ₹28,000 per person when booked six to eight weeks ahead. Over Christmas, New Year and the start of the May vacation, expect roughly ₹30,000 to ₹42,000. We book flights with the package so the arrival time matches the ferry.
How many days are ideal for an Andaman trip from Pune?
Five nights is the comfortable length from Pune: two in Port Blair, two on Havelock and one on Neil. Four nights works for couples on a long weekend such as Shivaji Jayanti. Families with grandparents should take six or seven nights, because the flight from Pune always involves a connection.
Can we reach Havelock on the day we leave Pune?
Often yes, if you take an overnight connection via Chennai that lands at Port Blair by about 9.30 am; the noon catamaran then gets you to Havelock by mid-afternoon. With a late-morning landing or a delayed connection, we keep the first night in Port Blair so you do not lose a hotel night.
Which long weekends from Pune suit an Andaman trip in 2027?
Republic Day on Tuesday 26 January, Shivaji Jayanti on Friday 19 February, the Holi and Good Friday week in late March, and the mid-April bridge around Ambedkar Jayanti and Ram Navami. Each gives four or five days with one or two days of leave, all in the dry season.
Can we go to the Andamans in the Maharashtra summer vacation?
Only in early May. State-board schools in Pune close at the start of May, and the south-west monsoon usually reaches the islands around 20 May, after which water sports often stop and ferries can be cancelled. Book the first ten days of May by February, or choose the hills for later.
Is Maharashtrian vegetarian food available in the Andaman Islands?
Vegetarian food is easy in Port Blair, where several restaurants serve thalis and South Indian breakfasts, and Havelock resorts cook dal, rice and vegetables to order. Maharashtrian dishes such as misal or poha are rare, so carry a few snacks. Jain meals are possible with notice except on Neil, where choice is limited.
Can children from Pune who cannot swim enjoy the Andamans?
Yes. Snorkelling at Elephant Beach is done with a life jacket and a guide, the sea walk needs no swimming, and glass-bottom boats suit the youngest. A few lessons at a Pune pool before the trip help children relax in the water, but they are not required for any of these activities.
Is the Cellular Jail worth visiting for a family from Pune?
Most of our Pune clients say it is a highlight. The museum covers the freedom fighters held there, including Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, who studied at Fergusson College in Pune, and the evening light-and-sound show tells the story in a way children follow. Allow two hours plus the show.
Do we need a permit to visit the Andamans from Pune?
Indian citizens need no permit for Port Blair, Havelock, Neil or Baratang. Carry an original government photo ID for every traveller, because it is checked at the airport, at each jetty and on the Baratang convoy. Tribal reserves and some outer islands are closed to all visitors.
