Andaman Tour Packages from Hyderabad
Leave Shamshabad at dawn and be on a Havelock-bound catamaran by lunchtime – Andaman holidays for Hyderabad families, timed to the Sankranti and summer breaks.
Hyderabad has one of the most useful flights to the Andaman Islands from anywhere in India. As of November 2026, IndiGo flies non-stop every morning from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) at Shamshabad and lands in Port Blair, now officially called Sri Vijaya Puram, at about 9 am. That early arrival changes the shape of the holiday: you can usually take a catamaran to Havelock (Swaraj Dweep) on the day you land, which saves a night and puts you on Radhanagar beach for the first sunset.
This page is for travellers flying from Hyderabad and Secunderabad. It covers what Andaman tour packages from Hyderabad cost, the RGIA flight and the Chennai backup route, three itineraries built around a 9 am landing, the Telangana Sankranti and summer vacation dates, a month-by-month guide, and food notes for Hyderabadi families, whether you want biryani-style spice, a halal kitchen or a strictly vegetarian Telugu meal. Neil Island now appears as Shaheed Dweep on tickets. Every trip is private and planned by our team in Ahmedabad, on WhatsApp or phone.

How much an Andaman trip from Hyderabad costs (2026)
Our live Andaman packages start at ₹12,000 per person, and 24 are open for booking. The ranges below are indicative per-person prices on twin sharing, without flights from Hyderabad. They include hotels with breakfast, private catamaran tickets for every island crossing, a private car on each island for transfers and sightseeing, and taxes on the land arrangements.
| Plan | Standard (3-star) | Deluxe (4-star / beach resort) | Premium (luxury) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 nights: Havelock 2 on arrival day, Neil 1, Port Blair 1 | ₹16,500 – 22,000 | ₹26,000 – 35,000 | ₹52,000 – 80,000 |
| 5 nights: Havelock 2, Neil 1, Port Blair 2 | ₹19,000 – 25,500 | ₹29,500 – 40,500 | ₹61,000 – 92,000 |

| 7 nights: three Havelock nights, unhurried | ₹26,500 – 34,500 | ₹40,500 – 55,500 | ₹84,000 – 1,25,000 |
Flights from Hyderabad: a return ticket on the RGIA non-stop is usually about ₹11,000 to ₹20,000 per person when booked a month or two ahead. During Sankranti week, Christmas–New Year and late April to May, expect ₹20,000 to ₹30,000. Connections through Chennai can be cheaper on some dates but add three to five hours.
Not in the land price: scuba (a try dive is roughly ₹3,500 to ₹7,000), sea walk, jet ski and semi-submarine rides, the light-and-sound show ticket at the Cellular Jail, the Baratang creek boat, lunches and dinners unless you choose a meal plan, and tips. A deluxe 5-night trip with flights usually works out to about ₹45,000 to ₹62,000 per person from Hyderabad.
RGIA to Port Blair: the morning non-stop and the Chennai backup
| Route | Typical timing (as of November 2026) | Journey | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Non-stop HYD to IXZ (IndiGo) | Departs about 6.35 am, lands about 9 am | About 2 h 30 min | Allows a same-day ferry to Havelock |
| Return IXZ to HYD (IndiGo) | Departs about 9.35–9.40 am, lands around noon | About 2 h 30–40 min | Last night must be in Port Blair |
| One-stop via Chennai | Many Hyderabad–Chennai flights a day, then a Chennai–Port Blair leg | 5 – 8 hours | Best backup when the non-stop is full |
| One-stop via Bengaluru, Kolkata or Visakhapatnam | Fewer good connections | 6 – 10 hours | Peak dates only |
- Getting to Shamshabad: for a 6.35 am departure, be at RGIA by 4.30 am. From Gachibowli or Hitech City the Outer Ring Road gets you there in 40–50 minutes at that hour; from Secunderabad, Kompally or Kukatpally allow an hour or more. Pushpak airport buses run through the night if you prefer them to a cab.
- Why the 9 am landing helps: private catamarans to Havelock leave Port Blair through the morning and early afternoon. With a 9 am arrival we can usually book an 11 am to 1 pm sailing, keeping a two-hour gap in case the flight is late. That saves a night in Port Blair at the start.
- The early return: the non-stop back to Hyderabad leaves Port Blair around 9.30 am, so you cannot come straight from Havelock or Neil that morning. Plan your last night in Port Blair and leave the hotel by about 7.30 am. You are home in time for a late lunch.
- Via Chennai: when the RGIA non-stop is sold out or too expensive, we route through Chennai on a single ticket. Some families from Hyderabad add a night in Chennai on the way back to visit relatives or Tirumala on a separate trip; tell us and we will plan it.
- No ship from Hyderabad: government passenger ships to Port Blair sail from Visakhapatnam, Chennai and Kolkata and take around three days, with irregular schedules. For a holiday, the flight is the sensible choice.

Telangana school holidays and the best Andaman windows
Most Hyderabad families travel during school breaks. The Telangana School Education calendar for 2026–27 sets these dates, and each one falls differently in the Andaman season.
| Break (2026–27) | Dates | Andaman conditions | Our advice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dasara | 10 – 22 October 2026 (now over) | Tail of the rains, short showers | For 2027, book flights by August and keep a buffer day |
| Christmas (missionary schools) | 23 – 27 December 2026 | Dry, sunny, busiest week | Book now; Havelock resorts are filling |
| Sankranti | 13 – 17 January 2027 | Calm sea, clear water, about 23–30°C | The best family window of the year |
| Summer vacation | 24 April – 13 June 2027 | Excellent until mid-May, monsoon after about 20 May | Travel in the last week of April or the first half of May |
- Sankranti is the sweet spot: it falls in the dry season, the sea is at its calmest, and prices are a little lower than the Christmas week. Many families combine the five holidays with a weekend for a five-night trip. Book flights by October.
- CBSE and ICSE schools: many Hyderabad private schools follow slightly different dates; send us your school's calendar and we plan around it.
- Weddings and honeymoons: couples marrying in the November–February and May wedding seasons in Telangana often fly out a few days later. A 4-night Havelock-first plan suits them, since the morning landing gives a full first evening on the beach.
- Avoid June to September: the south-west monsoon brings rough seas, closed water sports and cancelled ferries. Rates are lowest, but island hopping becomes uncertain.
Month-by-month Andaman guide for Hyderabad travellers
| Month | Sea and weather | Hyderabad angle | Prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | Dry and calm | Sankranti holidays | High |
| February | Best visibility | Couples, short breaks before exams | High |
| March | Warm, very calm | Ugadi in some years; exam season for students | Medium-high |
| April | Hot, clear water | Summer vacation starts late in the month | Medium-high |
| May | Humid; monsoon from about the third week | First fortnight only | High in vacation weeks |
| June – August | Monsoon, rough sea | Not recommended | Lowest |
| September | Rain easing | Bathukamma season at home; flexible travellers only | Low |
| October | Showers, lush islands | Dasara break; keep a spare day | Medium |
| November | Season opening, occasional rain | Wedding-season honeymoons | Medium |
| December | Dry and sunny | Christmas and New Year | Highest |
Compared with the dry heat of Hyderabad in April and May, the islands feel humid rather than hot, with sea breezes on the beaches. Carry light cotton and drink plenty of water.
Food for Hyderabadi families: spice, halal, Telugu veg
Food is the question we hear most from Hyderabad. The good news is that the islands have a large Telugu and Tamil population, so rice, sambar, pappu and curd rice are easy to find in Port Blair.
- Non-vegetarian travellers: seafood is the local staple. Fish curry, grilled lobster and crab are worth trying on Havelock. Biryani in Port Blair is a milder, coastal style; do not expect the Hyderabadi dum version. Carry your favourite podi or pickle if you like heat.
- Halal food: Port Blair has Muslim-run eateries and halal meat is widely available there. On Havelock and Neil, ask your hotel; we confirm halal arrangements in writing when you book.
- Vegetarian Telugu and Marwari families: Port Blair has pure-veg restaurants serving South Indian meals and North Indian thalis. Havelock has a few veg places near the market, and Neil has very few, so we fix meals with your hotel. Jain food is possible at selected hotels with notice.
- Snacks from home: murukku, chekkalu, sakinalu after Sankranti, dry fruit and biscuits help on ferry days and the early Baratang morning.
Practical tips
- Permits: as of November 2026, Indian citizens need no permit for Port Blair, Havelock, Neil, Ross, North Bay or Baratang. Carry original photo ID for everyone, including children. Tribal areas and the Nicobar Islands are closed to visitors.
- Ferries: we book private catamarans such as Makruzz, Nautika and Green Ocean when you confirm. Seats for Sankranti and Christmas sell out weeks ahead. Government ferries are cheaper but hard to book from outside the islands.
- Cash and connectivity: keep cash for Havelock and Neil; mobile data is slow outside Port Blair. Download your vouchers in Hyderabad before you leave.
- Sun and sea: reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, water shoes for Neil and a seasickness tablet for the crossing.

How much does a Andaman tour package from Hyderabad cost?
Our Andaman packages currently start at ₹12,000 per person for 3 nights. Most of our Andaman packages fall between ₹20,750 and ₹36,500 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from Hyderabad are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
Is there a direct flight from Hyderabad to Port Blair?
Yes. As of November 2026, IndiGo operates a daily non-stop from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram). It leaves around 6.35 am and lands around 9 am, taking about two and a half hours. The return non-stop leaves Port Blair in the morning. Schedules change, so we confirm on your dates.
How much is the flight fare from Hyderabad to the Andamans?
A return ticket on the non-stop usually costs about ₹11,000 to ₹20,000 per person when booked one to two months ahead. Fares rise to ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 during Sankranti, Christmas–New Year and the summer vacation. One-stop tickets through Chennai can be cheaper on some dates but take longer.
Can we go to Havelock on the day we arrive from Hyderabad?
Usually yes. The Hyderabad flight lands around 9 am, and private catamarans to Havelock run through the late morning and early afternoon. We book a sailing that leaves at least two hours after landing. If the flight is badly delayed, our Port Blair partner moves you to a later ferry or a Port Blair hotel.
Is Sankranti a good time for an Andaman trip from Hyderabad?
It is one of the best. The Telangana Sankranti holidays run from 13 to 17 January 2027, when the sea is calm, the water is clear and the weather is dry. Add a weekend for a five-night trip. Book flights by October, because many Hyderabad families travel in that week.
When should a Hyderabad family travel in the summer vacation?
Telangana schools close from 24 April 2027. Travel in the last week of April or the first half of May, when the water is clear and ferries run normally. After about 20 May the monsoon usually reaches the islands, bringing rough seas and possible ferry cancellations.
Will we get Hyderabadi biryani in the Andamans?
You will find biryani in Port Blair, but in a milder coastal style, not the Hyderabadi dum version. Seafood is the strength of the islands, so most non-vegetarian travellers enjoy fish curry, crab and grilled lobster instead. Carry a podi or pickle if your family likes more heat.
Is halal food available in Port Blair and Havelock?
Yes in Port Blair, where several Muslim-run eateries serve halal meat. On Havelock and Neil the choice is smaller, so we ask your hotel in advance and confirm halal meals in writing when you book. Vegetarian and Jain meals are arranged the same way.
How early should I leave for Shamshabad airport for the Port Blair flight?
Aim to reach RGIA two hours before the 6.35 am departure. From Gachibowli or Hitech City the drive takes about 40 to 50 minutes at that hour; from Secunderabad, Kompally or Kukatpally allow an hour or more. The Pushpak airport buses run through the night.
Do Indians need a permit for the Andaman Islands?
No. As of November 2026, Indian citizens need no permit for Port Blair, Havelock, Neil, Ross, North Bay or Baratang, and no passport. Carry an original government photo ID for every traveller, including children, as it is checked at the airport and at every ferry jetty.
Is there a ship from Visakhapatnam to Port Blair for Hyderabad travellers?
Government passenger ships do sail from Visakhapatnam, Chennai and Kolkata to Port Blair, but the voyage takes around three days and schedules are irregular. For a holiday from Hyderabad, the 2½-hour non-stop flight is far more practical. We do not build packages on the ship.
Do you have an office in Hyderabad?
No. Our only office is on C G Road in Ahmedabad. Our team plans Andaman trips for Hyderabad travellers on WhatsApp and phone, Monday to Saturday, and sends the itinerary, vouchers and invoice as PDFs. Our partner in Port Blair meets you at the airport, and support is available 24x7 during the trip.
