Train Tickets for Your Holiday
When a train is the best way to travel on your trip – the toy train to Shimla, a Vande Bharat to Katra or an overnight train – we plan it and book it with your holiday.
- With your holiday booking
- Booking opens 60 days ahead
- Seats planned with your itinerary
Trains are often the most comfortable and scenic part of an Indian holiday: the UNESCO-listed Kalka–Shimla line, the Vande Bharat to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, the hill railway to Darjeeling or an overnight AC train that saves a hotel night. We fit the train into your itinerary, book the right class for your group and match the hotel and car timings at both ends.
How Indian Railways booking works
- Reserved tickets open 60 days before the journey date (the advance reservation period since 1 November 2024), not counting the day of travel.
- Popular trains in holiday season (Diwali, Christmas, May–June) fill up on the first days of booking, so plan early.
- Tatkal quota opens one day before the journey and costs more; it is not something a holiday plan should rely on.
- Each passenger needs their name, age and gender as on a photo ID, and must carry that ID on the train.
How it works
- Tell us your holiday plan and the train journey you have in mind (or ask us to suggest one).
- We check availability and the best class for your group as soon as booking opens.
- Tickets are booked with your holiday; you get the tickets and the matching car pickup details.
- If a ticket stays on the waiting list, we tell you in time and plan a road or flight alternative.
Seat availability, fares and cancellation charges are set by Indian Railways / IRCTC; a waiting-list ticket is never a confirmed seat.
