Seychelles is where couples go when they want the Maldives' water without the Maldives' one-island feeling. Three main islands – Mahé, Praslin and La Digue – sit within a short ferry of each other, each with its own character: mountain roads and the tiny capital Victoria on Mahé, the coco de mer forest and Anse Lazio on Praslin, and bicycles, ox-carts and the granite boulders of Anse Source d'Argent on La Digue. Indian passport holders enter without a visa, and the flight from Mumbai is shorter than Mumbai to Delhi and back.
It is also the most expensive of the Indian Ocean islands on the ground, and most agency pages hide that. This page gives you the honest cost picture and the ways Gujarati travellers keep it sensible – self-catering villas, the right island split, ferry rather than flight – along with the 2026 price guide, flights from Ahmedabad and the travel-authorisation rule, three day-wise itineraries, a month-by-month table that explains the trade winds and seaweed season, the places worth seeing, food and hotel advice, and twelve FAQs. Every package below is live with today's price.
Seychelles tour package price guide (2026)
Seychelles packages on this page start at ₹23,999 per person. The island split and the accommodation type decide the price: a self-catering apartment or guesthouse on Mahé costs a fraction of a beachfront resort on Praslin, and every inter-island hop adds ferry or flight costs. Typical per-person prices on twin sharing, excluding flights, with airport and jetty transfers, inter-island ferries and the listed excursions:
| Trip | Standard (self-catering / 3★ guesthouse) | Deluxe (4★ resort or boutique hotel) | Premium (5★ resort / private-pool villa) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4N/5D Mahé only | ₹55,000 – 70,000 | ₹85,000 – 1,15,000 | ₹1,70,000+ |
| 5N/6D Mahé 2N + Praslin 3N (honeymoon) with La Digue day trip | ₹70,000 – 90,000 | ₹1,05,000 – 1,45,000 | ₹2,10,000+ |
| 6N/7D three islands – Mahé 2N, Praslin 2N, La Digue 2N | ₹80,000 – 1,05,000 | ₹1,20,000 – 1,65,000 | ₹2,40,000+ |
| 7N/8D Seychelles 4N + Mauritius 3N or Dubai 3N | ₹1,10,000 – 1,40,000 | ₹1,60,000 – 2,20,000 | ₹3,00,000+ |
Add for flights: Ahmedabad–Mahé return fares via Mumbai are usually ₹50,000–75,000 per person when booked 8–10 weeks ahead; routings via Dubai, Doha or Colombo are sometimes cheaper. Usually extra on the ground: meals beyond breakfast at resorts (a simple dinner for two costs ₹4,000–7,000 at a resort, far less at a takeaway or self-catering kitchen), the Vallée de Mai entry ticket, bicycle hire and the L'Union Estate entry on La Digue, snorkelling or diving trips, Curieuse island marine-park fee, the tourism environmental sustainability levy charged per person per night at accommodation, car hire if you want it on Mahé, and tips. Our quotes list all of these.
How to reach Seychelles from Ahmedabad – flights and entry
- Via Mumbai (recommended): fly Ahmedabad–Mumbai (about 1 h 15 min) and connect to the non-stop Mumbai–Mahé (SEZ) flight, which takes about 4 h 30 min to 5 hours. We book both legs on one ticket wherever possible so bags are checked through. Total journey from SVPI Airport is 8–10 hours including the connection.
- Via a Gulf hub or Colombo: Ahmedabad–Dubai / Doha / Abu Dhabi–Mahé (about 3 hours plus 4 h 30 min, plus the layover) works well for a Dubai + Seychelles combination, and Colombo is a third routing that pairs Seychelles with Sri Lanka.
- Entry for Indians – visa-free, but with a travel authorisation we arrange: Seychelles does not require a visa from any nationality, including Indians. However, every traveller must obtain a Seychelles Travel Authorisation online before departure (applied for within the days before travel, with a small fee), and show on arrival a passport valid for the stay, confirmed accommodation, a return ticket and sufficient funds. We complete the authorisation for you and send the approval to carry on your phone. Rules can change, so we confirm the current requirement for your date.
- Between the islands: Mahé to Praslin is about 1 hour by the Cat Cocos fast ferry (several sailings daily) or a 15-minute flight; Praslin to La Digue is a 15-minute ferry. The ferry is cheaper and perfectly comfortable except on windy afternoons in June–September, when we book morning sailings. Luggage goes with you; La Digue has almost no cars, so transfers there are by electric buggy or bicycle.
- Time and money: Seychelles is 1 h 30 min behind India. The Seychellois rupee (SCR) is the currency; euros are widely accepted by hotels and tour operators, and cards work almost everywhere except small takeaways and La Digue bicycle stands.
Best Seychelles itineraries by traveller type
4 nights / 5 days – Mahé only (budget couples and short trips)
- Day 1: Fly Ahmedabad–Mumbai–Mahé; transfer to a Beau Vallon guesthouse or self-catering apartment; sunset on Beau Vallon beach.
- Day 2: Mahé island tour – Victoria's clock tower, Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke market and Hindu temple, the Mission Lodge viewpoint in the Morne Seychellois hills, tea factory, Anse Royale and Anse Intendance beaches.
- Day 3: Day trip by ferry to Praslin and La Digue – Anse Source d'Argent by bicycle, giant tortoises at L'Union Estate; return by evening ferry.
- Day 4: Snorkelling trip to Ste Anne marine park or a free beach day; dinner at an Indian or Creole restaurant in Beau Vallon.
- Day 5: Fly home.
5 nights / 6 days – Mahé + Praslin honeymoon
- Day 1: Arrive Mahé; transfer to a boutique hotel on the south or west coast; evening at leisure.
- Day 2: Half-day Mahé tour, then the afternoon ferry to Praslin; check in to a beachfront resort at Anse Volbert (Côte d'Or) or Anse Lazio side; honeymoon décor.
- Day 3: Vallée de Mai UNESCO forest (coco de mer palms, black parrots) in the morning; Anse Lazio in the afternoon – one of the most photographed beaches in the world.
- Day 4: Day trip to La Digue – bicycles, Anse Source d'Argent's granite boulders, L'Union Estate tortoises, Grand Anse; return by ferry.
- Day 5: Catamaran or boat trip to Curieuse island (free-roaming tortoises, mangroves) and St Pierre islet for snorkelling, with a Creole barbecue lunch (vegetarian option arranged); sunset dinner.
- Day 6: Ferry or flight to Mahé, fly home.
6 nights / 7 days – three islands (complete Seychelles)
Two nights on each island: Mahé for the mountain and Victoria, Praslin for Vallée de Mai and Anse Lazio, and two full nights on La Digue – which day-trippers never get – for sunrise at Anse Source d'Argent before anyone arrives, a cycle to Grand Anse and Petite Anse, and evenings in a village with no traffic. Fly home from Mahé via a morning ferry. This is the trip we recommend to couples celebrating an anniversary and to small family groups who want variety without long transfers.
Families and senior citizens
Seychelles beaches have no reef-protected lagoon on every coast, so for families with small children and for grandparents we choose Beau Vallon or Anse Royale on Mahé and Anse Volbert on Praslin – calm, shallow, with shade – and avoid Grand Anse on La Digue, where currents are strong. We book morning ferries, ground-floor rooms and self-catering villas with a kitchen so that dal-rice is always possible, and we skip La Digue's bicycles in favour of an electric buggy for anyone who prefers it.
Self-catering or resort? The honest Seychelles cost guide
Seychelles imports almost everything, there are no mass-market hotels, and a resort dinner costs what a resort dinner costs in Europe. Knowing this before you book is the difference between a wonderful trip and a shock. Here is how the two main accommodation styles compare and how our Ahmedabad clients keep costs sensible.
| Self-catering villa / apartment / guesthouse | Beach resort (4★ / 5★) | |
|---|---|---|
| Typical price per night (couple) | ₹7,000 – 15,000 | ₹25,000 – 80,000+ |
| Kitchen | Yes – full kitchen or kitchenette | No; 1–3 restaurants on site |
| Food costs | Groceries from Victoria or local shops; cook dal-rice, khichdi, pasta; takeaways ₹400–700 a plate | Half board ₹5,000–9,000 per person per day; à la carte more |
| Location | Often a 2–10-minute walk from the beach, with sea views on hillsides | Directly on the beach |
| Who it suits | Budget couples, Jain and strict vegetarian travellers, families, longer stays | Honeymoons, anniversaries, anyone who wants to be looked after |
| Our suggestion | Use it on Mahé and La Digue | Splurge on Praslin for 2–3 nights |
Five ways Gujarati travellers keep Seychelles affordable
- Mix the two: self-catering on Mahé and La Digue, one resort stay on Praslin for the honeymoon photographs. This alone saves ₹40,000–60,000 per couple on a 6-night trip.
- Take the ferry, not the plane, for Mahé–Praslin, and book morning sailings in the windy months.
- Carry dry food: theplas, khakhra, ready-to-eat sabzi pouches, instant poha and upma, tea and masala. Customs permits packaged food for personal use. A kettle and a kitchenette turn these into dinners.
- Shop in Victoria on day one: the supermarkets near the market stock rice, lentils, vegetables, bread, fruit, Indian spices and even some Indian brands, thanks to the island's long-standing Indian-origin community.
- Use public buses on Mahé for short hops if you are adventurous – they are cheap and reach most beaches – or hire a small car for a day instead of three.
Honeymoon benefits
Resorts on Praslin and Mahé usually offer honeymooners décor, a cake or fruit basket, a romantic dinner or spa discount, and an upgrade when available, against a marriage certificate dated within six months. We attach it to the booking and confirm the inclusions in writing.
Best time to visit Seychelles – month by month
| Months | Weather | Good for | Prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| April – May | Calm inter-monsoon period; little wind, flat clear sea, 27–31°C, humid | Honeymoons, snorkelling and diving (best visibility), Gujarat May vacation | Moderate – the best weather-to-price ratio of the year |
| June – September | South-east trade winds; cooler (24–28°C), drier, breezy; seaweed washes on to south- and east-facing beaches (Praslin's Côte d'Or and La Digue's Anse Source d'Argent are affected some weeks); choppy afternoon ferries | Hikers, families who dislike humidity; stay on north- and west-facing beaches (Beau Vallon, Anse Lazio) | Moderate; higher in European summer holidays (July–August) |
| October – November | Second calm period; winds drop, sea clears, warm | Honeymoons, diving, Diwali trips (usually October) – our top recommendation | Moderate, rising towards December |
| December – March | North-west monsoon; warmer, more humid, short heavy showers, some seaweed on north-west beaches | Christmas–New Year couples who accept a shower a day; lush green landscapes | Highest in the festive fortnight; lower in late January–March |
Seychelles lies outside the cyclone belt, so there is no season to avoid entirely – it is about choosing the right beach for the month, which we do when we place your hotels. For Gujarati families, the May vacation and the Diwali fortnight both land in the two calm windows, which is a lucky coincidence few destinations offer.
Places to visit in Seychelles
- Anse Source d'Argent, La Digue: pink sand, shallow turquoise water and giant granite boulders – the most photographed beach in the Indian Ocean; go at opening time.
- Anse Lazio, Praslin: a wide, golden crescent with takamaka trees and good swimming; the honeymoon beach.
- Vallée de Mai, Praslin: a UNESCO World Heritage palm forest where the coco de mer – the world's heaviest seed – grows wild; an easy 1–2-hour shaded walk.
- Beau Vallon, Mahé: the island's main beach – calm water, sunset, water sports, restaurants and the Wednesday evening food market.
- Victoria: one of the world's smallest capitals – the clock tower, the covered market, the Hindu temple and the botanical garden with its tortoises; two hours is enough.
- Morne Seychellois National Park, Mahé: the Mission Lodge viewpoint, tea plantation and short rainforest trails over the mountain road.
- Anse Intendance and Anse Royale, Mahé: a wild surf beach for photographs and a reef-protected bay for swimming, on the island's south.
- Curieuse island: giant Aldabra tortoises roaming free, mangrove boardwalks and a ruined leprosarium, on a boat day from Praslin.
- St Pierre islet and Coco island: the snorkelling stops off Praslin and La Digue with turtles and reef fish.
- Grand Anse and Petite Anse, La Digue: dramatic, empty beaches reached by a 20-minute cycle; swim with caution.
- Ste Anne marine park: glass-bottom boat and snorkelling day from Mahé with lunch on Moyenne island among tortoises.
- Silhouette and Bird islands: one-resort islands for travellers with time and budget – nature, nesting birds and complete quiet.
Food, hotels and tips for Gujarati travellers in Seychelles
- Vegetarian and Jain food – the honest picture: Creole cooking is fish-first, but every Creole restaurant has lentil curry (lentilles), breadfruit and jackfruit dishes, rice, papaya chutney and salads, and the islands' Indian-origin community means Victoria and Beau Vallon have Indian restaurants, including South Indian and vegetarian options. Resorts cook Indian vegetarian dishes on request and keep pasta and pizza on every menu. Jain food is the hard case: it depends on a self-catering kitchen, a resort briefed in advance, and your own dry food. We tell you island by island what to expect and confirm meal arrangements in writing.
- Grocery reality: Victoria's supermarkets stock rice, dal, atta, vegetables, fruit, bread and Indian spices; Praslin and La Digue have smaller shops with less choice, so buy on Mahé before the ferry.
- Hotel categories on this page: Standard means a licensed self-catering villa, apartment or guesthouse (Seychelles regulates these well, and most are spotless with sea views); Deluxe means a 4-star beach resort or boutique hotel; Premium means a 5-star resort or a villa with a private pool. We name the property in every quote.
- Pack: reef shoes (granite and coral underfoot), snorkel set if you own one (hire is expensive), reef-safe sunscreen, mosquito repellent for evenings, a light rain jacket in December–March and a windcheater for June–September ferries. Dress is relaxed; cover up away from the beach.
- Money: carry euros in cash for small purchases plus a card; change a little into Seychellois rupees for buses and takeaways. Indian cards work; UPI does not.
- Getting around Mahé: taxis are expensive by Indian standards; our packages include private transfers for every move, and a hired car for a day is the economical way to see Mahé's beaches independently.
- Sundays: Victoria is largely closed and ferry frequency drops; we schedule island transfers on weekdays where we can.
- Safety and health: Seychelles is very safe; swim only on beaches with calm water, heed the no-swim flags in the windy season, and drink bottled or filtered water.

Seychelles tour packages – frequently asked questions
How much does a Seychelles tour package cost from Ahmedabad?
Seychelles packages on this page start at ₹23,999 per person. A 5-night Mahé + Praslin honeymoon with 4-star resorts costs ₹1,05,000–1,45,000 per person excluding flights; the self-catering version is ₹70,000–90,000. Return flights from Ahmedabad via Mumbai add ₹50,000–75,000 per person. Food on the islands is the biggest variable, and self-catering cuts it sharply.
Do Indians need a visa for Seychelles?
No visa is required for any nationality, including Indians. Every traveller must, however, obtain the Seychelles Travel Authorisation online before departure and carry proof of accommodation, a return ticket and sufficient funds. We complete the authorisation for you and send the approval to carry on your phone; we also confirm the rule in force for your travel date.
Is there a direct flight from Ahmedabad to Seychelles?
No. The non-stop flight to Mahé departs from Mumbai and takes about 4 h 30 min to 5 hours; we book Ahmedabad–Mumbai on the same ticket. Routings via Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi or Colombo are alternatives and suit combinations with Dubai or Sri Lanka. Total journey from Ahmedabad is 8–10 hours.
Which islands should I stay on and how many nights?
Five nights split 2 on Mahé and 3 on Praslin with a La Digue day trip is the classic honeymoon. Six nights with two on each island is the complete trip and the only way to see Anse Source d'Argent at sunrise. Four nights on Mahé alone, with a ferry day trip to the other islands, is the budget option.
How do I travel between Mahé, Praslin and La Digue?
Mahé to Praslin is about an hour on the Cat Cocos fast ferry, or a 15-minute flight; Praslin to La Digue is a 15-minute ferry. We include all ferries and jetty transfers in our packages and book morning sailings in the windy June–September months. La Digue has almost no cars – you move by bicycle or electric buggy.
Is vegetarian and Jain food available in Seychelles?
Vegetarian, yes: Creole lentil curry, breadfruit, rice and salads are everywhere, Victoria and Beau Vallon have Indian restaurants, and resorts cook Indian vegetarian dishes on request. Jain food needs a self-catering kitchen or a resort briefed in advance plus your own dry food. We plan this island by island and confirm it in writing before you travel.
When is the best time to visit Seychelles?
April–May and October–November, the two calm periods between the trade winds, with flat clear seas and moderate prices; both line up with the Gujarat May vacation and Diwali. June–September is cooler and windier with seaweed on some south-east beaches; December–March is hotter and showery. There is no cyclone season, so no month is off-limits.
Is Seychelles good for a honeymoon?
It is among the finest honeymoons available from Ahmedabad for couples who want more than a single resort island: three islands, the most beautiful beaches in the Indian Ocean, sunrise at Anse Source d'Argent and quiet evenings. Resorts give décor, a romantic dinner and upgrades against a marriage certificate under six months old.
Is Seychelles expensive? How do we keep costs down?
Yes, it is the priciest Indian Ocean island on the ground – a resort dinner for two can cost ₹4,000–7,000. Our clients save by staying in licensed self-catering villas on Mahé and La Digue, splurging on one Praslin resort, taking ferries instead of flights, shopping in Victoria on day one and carrying theplas and ready-to-eat food. These cut a 6-night trip by ₹40,000–60,000 per couple.
Is Seychelles suitable for families with children and seniors?
Yes, with the right beaches: Beau Vallon and Anse Royale on Mahé and Anse Volbert on Praslin are calm and shallow; Grand Anse on La Digue is not for swimming. We book ground-floor rooms, self-catering villas with kitchens, morning ferries and electric buggies on La Digue for anyone who prefers not to cycle.
What is usually not included in a Seychelles package?
Flights unless added, meals beyond breakfast unless stated, the Vallée de Mai ticket, L'Union Estate entry and bicycle hire on La Digue, Curieuse marine-park fee, snorkelling and boat trips not named, car hire, the per-night tourism levy where collected locally, tips, travel insurance and personal expenses. Ferries and transfers are always included and listed.
Seychelles or Maldives or Mauritius – which should we choose?
Seychelles for the most beautiful beaches, three islands to explore and quiet; it costs the most on food. Maldives for over-water villas and the clearest snorkelling on a single resort island. Mauritius for the easiest and most affordable long-haul island, with Indian food everywhere and sightseeing days. Many couples do Mauritius or Maldives first and Seychelles for an anniversary.
How much is the Seychelles Travel Authorisation fee?
The government fee is EUR 10 per traveller, and with additional charges and bank processing it came to about EUR 12 per person in early 2026. Apply only on seychelles.govtas.com, because look-alike sites charge far more. Apply a few days before departure; airlines check the approval at check-in in Mumbai or the Gulf.
How many days are enough for Seychelles?
Six nights split between Mahé, Praslin and La Digue are ideal for a first trip. Five nights work if La Digue is a day trip from Praslin. With fewer than five nights the ferry and flight transfers eat into beach time, so we suggest the Maldives or Mauritius instead for very short holidays.
Is Seychelles more expensive than Mauritius or the Maldives?
Usually more than Mauritius and comparable to a mid-range Maldives trip. Hotels, food and inter-island transfers all cost more because nearly everything is imported. A guesthouse and self-catering plan keeps costs down, while 5-star resorts on Praslin and La Digue sit firmly in the luxury band. We show every cost on the quote.
Can we combine Seychelles with Dubai or Mauritius?
Yes. Flying Emirates from Ahmedabad lets you stop in Dubai for two or three nights on the same ticket; we prepare and submit the UAE visa, with approval at the authority's discretion. Seychelles and Mauritius are linked by flights of about 2½ hours on some days of the week, so a two-island trip works with ten nights or more.
