Holiday Guides for Indian Travellers
Visa rules, month-by-month destination picks and honest trip budgets in rupees – the questions our travel experts answer every day, written down.
Most holiday questions we get on WhatsApp are not about a specific package. They are about the decision before it: Do Indians need a visa for Thailand this year? Where is the weather good in December without the Goa crowds? Is ₹1,50,000 enough for a couple to see Bali for a week? These guides collect the answers our travel experts give every day, written for travellers with an Indian passport and an Indian budget, and updated when rules or prices change.
There are three kinds of guide. Visa guides explain which countries are visa-free, which give a visa on arrival or e-visa, and what documents, fees and processing times to expect – with the date we last checked, because rules change often. Month-wise guides list where to go in each month of the year, in India and abroad, with weather, crowd levels and price trends. Trip-cost guides break a holiday down into flights, hotels, transfers, sightseeing and food, with realistic per-person ranges for budget, mid-range and premium travel.
Use them in that order: check the visa, pick the month, then set a budget. When you are ready, send us your dates and the number of travellers on WhatsApp, and our team in Ahmedabad will turn the plan into a private, day-wise itinerary. Vibrant Holidays has planned holidays since 2014; we plan every trip remotely for travellers anywhere in India, and every trip is private, never a group tour.
Visa guides for Indian passport holders
Our visa guides cover the destinations Indian travellers book most: Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Indonesia (Bali), Vietnam, Singapore, Dubai and the UAE, Mauritius, the Maldives, Turkey, Azerbaijan and the Schengen countries of Europe. Each guide states the entry type for Indians (visa-free, visa on arrival, e-visa or embassy visa), the documents required, the fee in rupees or local currency, typical processing time, and common reasons for rejection or delay.
We also maintain overview guides – visa-free and visa-on-arrival countries for Indians, and countries that give easier entry with a valid US, UK or Schengen visa. Every visa page shows the month it was last checked against official embassy, VFS or government sources. Where we help with an application, we prepare and submit it; approval is always at the embassy's or authority's discretion.
Where to go, month by month
The month-wise guides answer one question: where is the weather good, and the crowds and prices sensible, in this particular month? Each lists Indian and international destinations with a one-line verdict, typical temperatures, what is open or closed, and which Indian school holidays and festivals push prices up. For example, May guides compare Kashmir, Sikkim and Ladakh against Bali and Europe; October guides cover the Puja and Diwali rush; December guides weigh Goa and Kerala against Dubai, Thailand and Vietnam.
We are also adding season guides for special interests: snow trips, monsoon holidays, honeymoon months, and the best windows for the Char Dham Yatra, the Andaman Islands and Ladakh, where timing matters most.
Trip-cost guides in rupees
Our cost guides show what a holiday really costs, not a teaser price. Each breaks the trip into return airfare from major Indian cities, hotels by category, transfers and sightseeing, visa and entry fees, and a sensible daily allowance for meals and shopping. Ranges are per person for budget, mid-range and premium travel, with notes on when prices peak, such as Diwali, Christmas and the May vacation.
Planned cost guides include Dubai, Thailand, Bali, Singapore, Vietnam, the Maldives, Europe, Kashmir, Kerala, Ladakh and the Andaman Islands. Figures are reviewed regularly against our own live bookings, and the date of the last review is shown on every guide.
Holiday Guides for Indian Travellers: FAQs
How far in advance should I plan a holiday?
For domestic trips, six to eight weeks ahead is usually enough, and three to four months for Diwali, Christmas or May vacation dates. For international trips, allow two to three months, plus extra time if a visa needs an embassy appointment. Schengen and UK visas can take several weeks in peak season, so apply as early as the rules allow.
Are the visa rules in these guides always current?
We check visa rules against official embassy, VFS and government sources and show the month of the last check on every guide. Rules for Indian travellers change often, sometimes at short notice, so treat a guide as a starting point. When you book with us, we check the rules again for your exact dates before you pay.
Can you guarantee my visa if you file it?
No one can. We prepare your application, check the documents and submit it, and we tell you honestly if something weakens your file, such as low bank balances or missing tax returns. The decision always rests with the embassy or immigration authority. We recommend non-refundable bookings only after the visa is approved, wherever possible.
How accurate are the prices in your trip-cost guides?
The ranges come from our own recent bookings and are reviewed regularly, with the review date shown on each guide. Airfares move daily and hotels change rates by season, so your actual quote can be above or below the range. We always send a written, itemised quote before you pay, listing anything that is extra.
Do you plan trips for travellers outside Ahmedabad?
Yes. Our office is in Ahmedabad, but we plan holidays for travellers across India remotely. Everything is handled on WhatsApp and phone: the itinerary and quote as PDFs, payment by bank transfer or UPI against an invoice, and vouchers before departure. Our support line is available 24×7 while you travel, wherever you start from.
Can I get vegetarian or Jain food on international trips?
In most destinations, yes, with some planning. We request vegetarian or Jain meals from hotels in advance and confirm them in writing. Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand have plenty of Indian vegetarian restaurants. In parts of Vietnam, Bali, Europe and the Maldives choices are narrower, and our guides note honestly where that is the case.
Do you offer group tours based on these guides?
No. We do not run group tours. Every trip is private and customised: your own dates, your own hotels, and your own car and driver where the destination allows. Extended families and friends can travel as a private group on their own dates, and the guides help you decide where and when before we build the itinerary.
