Manali Tour Packages from Hyderabad
From a 43°C May in Hyderabad to snow at Solang and Sissu – the Chandigarh non-stop or a Delhi connection, a private cab up the Beas valley, and pappu-annam when you want it.
Manali is the snow holiday most Hyderabad families think of first, and the summer bolt-hole when the city crosses 40°C. It is also a trip with a long tail: there is no flight to Manali itself from RGIA, and as of November 2026 there is not even a scheduled flight from Delhi to the nearest airstrip at Kullu-Bhuntar. Every Hyderabad traveller therefore flies to Chandigarh or Delhi and drives the last 300 to 540 km up the Beas valley. How you split that road journey decides whether the family arrives in Manali fresh or exhausted.
This page is written for travellers from Hyderabad and Secunderabad, and for families from Warangal, Karimnagar and Vijayawada who fly out of Shamshabad. It compares the Chandigarh and Delhi routes with real flight timings, sets out indicative package costs, gives three day-wise plans, maps the 2026–27 Telangana school holidays to Manali's seasons, and covers the cold, the altitude and the food question honestly – including where to find rice, dal and a halal meal. Vibrant Holidays is based in Ahmedabad; we plan Hyderabad trips remotely on WhatsApp and phone and have no office in Hyderabad. Every trip is private, with your own cab and driver. Package prices shown here are live.

What a Manali holiday from Hyderabad costs (2026–27)
Our Himachal and Manali packages currently start at ₹12,000 per person, with 24 live on the site. The bands below are per person on twin sharing and leave out air or rail fares from Hyderabad. They include hotels with breakfast and dinner, a private cab from Chandigarh or Delhi for the whole trip, sightseeing as planned, the driver's allowances, tolls, parking and the Himachal entry tax.
| Plan | Standard (3★) | Deluxe (4★) | Premium (5★ / cottage resorts) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 nights – Chandigarh 1, Manali 4, cab from Chandigarh | ₹16,000 – 21,500 | ₹23,500 – 31,000 | ₹38,000 – 57,000 |
| 6 nights – Chandigarh 1, Manali 4, Kullu or Mandi 1 on the way back | ₹19,000 – 25,500 | ₹27,500 – 36,500 | ₹44,000 – 66,000 |
| 6 nights – Delhi pick-up, overnight Volvo both ways, Manali 4 (budget) | ₹12,500 – 17,000 | ₹18,500 – 25,000 | Rarely chosen |
| 8 nights – Shimla 2, Manali 4, Dharamshala 1, Chandigarh 1 | ₹29,000 – 38,000 | ₹40,000 – 53,000 | ₹64,000 – 96,000 |
Airfare: a Hyderabad–Chandigarh return on the IndiGo non-stop usually costs ₹9,500 – 17,000 per person when booked five to six weeks ahead; with only about one flight a day it sells out quickly in Sankranti week and May. Hyderabad–Delhi has many more flights and typically runs ₹8,000 – 14,000 return. In the Christmas–New Year week, around Sankranti and in the first half of May, budget 40–60% more.
Extras paid in Manali unless your quote includes them: snow suit and gumboot rental (about ₹300 – 600 per set per day), the Solang ropeway, snow scooter rides, skiing lessons, paragliding, the Rohtang permit and local taxi when the pass is open, rafting near Kullu (April to June), lunches and tips. Each one is listed with an estimate on the quotation.
RGIA to Manali: the Chandigarh non-stop, the Delhi route and the train
Timings below are as of November 2026; airlines and railways revise them every season, and we confirm them on your dates.
| Route | Time | When it makes sense |
|---|---|---|
| IndiGo non-stop Hyderabad–Chandigarh (IXC), then about 300 km by cab | About 2 h 25 min flight + 7–9 h road | The default for most families: shortest road leg, the four-lane Kiratpur–Nerchowk highway and tunnels past Aut make the drive easier than it was |
| Hyderabad–Delhi non-stop (many flights a day, about 2–2¼ h), then about 540 km by cab | About 2¼ h + 12–14 h road | When Chandigarh seats are sold out or very expensive; split the road with a night in Chandigarh or Mandi |
| Hyderabad–Delhi, then overnight Volvo from Delhi to Manali | About 2¼ h + 12–14 h coach | College friends and young IT-office groups on a budget; hard on small children in winter |
| Train to New Delhi (Telangana Express from Hyderabad Deccan, or the Rajdhani from Secunderabad on its running days), then road | About 22–27 h + road | Grandparents who avoid flying; adds two days each way |
| Fly to Kullu-Bhuntar (KUU) | – | Not available for this winter: Alliance Air ended its Delhi–Kullu service on 24 October 2026, and its schedule to 27 March 2027 shows no Delhi flight. We will recheck for summer 2027 |
Making the Chandigarh flight work
- The non-stop has run roughly once a day, with a morning departure (around 9.30 am, landing about noon) on some days and a late-evening one on others. A noon landing followed by an eight-hour drive would mean mountain roads after dark, which we avoid, especially in winter.
- So we either drive you to Mandi or Kullu for the first night (about 5–6 hours from Chandigarh) and reach Manali by the next late morning, or keep the first night in Chandigarh and leave at 7 am. On a late-evening flight, the first night is always in Chandigarh.
- For the return, we time the drive down so you reach Chandigarh with a clear margin before the flight, or stay the last night there. Snow near the Atal Tunnel approach or a slow stretch near Mandi can add two hours.
- Leave home early for RGIA. From Gachibowli or Kondapur the Outer Ring Road takes about 45 minutes outside rush hour; from Secunderabad, Uppal or Kukatpally allow 60–90 minutes in daytime traffic.
Why the Delhi route is the backup, not the first choice
Delhi gives you more flights and slightly lower fares, but the road to Manali is about 240 km longer, through Haryana and Punjab traffic. Unless the family wants a day in Delhi anyway, the saving in airfare is usually lost in an extra hotel night and a longer cab bill. Winter fog at Delhi airport, mostly in late December and January, is another reason we prefer Chandigarh for Sankranti trips.

Telangana school holidays 2026–27 and Manali's seasons
The Telangana School Education calendar for 2026–27 gives Hyderabad families four breaks. CBSE, ICSE and international schools in the city often differ by a few days, so check your own school's circular.
| Break | Dates | Manali at that time | Our view |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dasara | 10 – 22 October 2026 (over for this year) | Crisp, clear days of 5–20°C, no snow in town, Rohtang usually open | Excellent for 2027; book flights by August |
| Christmas (missionary schools) | 23 – 27 December 2026 | First snow possible at Solang; the busiest, costliest week | Book now if you must travel; prices fall after 2 January |
| Sankranti | 13 – 17 January 2027 | Deep winter; snow most likely at Solang and Sissu, nights around −5°C | The best first-snow window for children; add the weekend and two days' leave |
| Summer vacation | 24 April – 13 June 2027 | 15–25°C by day; snow only higher up, near the tunnel's north side and on Rohtang | The classic heat escape; late April and the first half of May are less crowded than late May |
- Sankranti and family duties: many Telugu families spend Bhogi and Sankranti day at home or in the village. A good compromise is to leave on Kanuma or the day after, on 16 January, and come back the following weekend. Flight prices also drop slightly once the festival rush is over.
- The IT-office calendar: for working couples in HITEC City and the Financial District, the week between Christmas and New Year is the easiest leave to get, but it is Manali's most expensive week. The second half of January and February give more snow for less money.
- Bonalu and the monsoon: July and August, when Bonalu is celebrated at home, are Manali's landslide months. We advise families not to travel then.
Manali month by month, compared with Hyderabad weather
| Month | Hyderabad (typical day) | Manali | Prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | 28°C, cool mornings | −5 to 8°C, snow likely; Sankranti trips | High in the first week, then medium |
| February | 31°C | Snow possible, fewer crowds | Medium |
| March | 35°C | Snow melting; exams keep families home | Low-medium |
| April | 38°C | Blossom season, 8–20°C; summer break starts on the 24th | Medium |
| May | 40°C and above | 12–25°C; Rohtang often reopens late in the month or in June | High |
| June | Monsoon arrives | Pleasant until schools reopen; rafting on the Beas | High |
| July – August | Rainy | Monsoon, landslides on the highway | Lowest; not advised |
| September | Rainy, warm | Clearing in the second half | Low |
| October | Dasara break | Clear skies, autumn colours | Medium |
| November | Pleasant, 29°C | Cold and dry; Rohtang usually closes | Low-medium |
| December | 27°C | Below freezing at night; snow from mid or late month | Highest after 20 December |
Atal Tunnel and Rohtang, as of November 2026: the 9 km Atal Tunnel is open all year but its approach roads close for a day or two after heavy snow, so every winter plan keeps a spare day. Rohtang Pass (3,978 m) normally opens around late May or June and closes in November; each vehicle needs an online permit from the Himachal government portal (listed at ₹500 plus a ₹50 congestion charge, with a daily cap). Outside cabs rarely get one, so we arrange a local Manali taxi with the permit. Snowfall varies every year, and no one can promise snow on a particular date.
Cold, altitude and food: notes for Hyderabadi travellers
Clothes: buy some, rent the rest
- Hyderabad winters are mild, so most families own a sweater and little else. Buy thermals (two sets each), woollen socks, gloves and an ear-covering cap before you leave; General Bazaar, the malls and sports stores stock them.
- Rent the bulky layer – padded jackets, waterproof trousers and gumboots – at Solang or on Mall Road for a few hundred rupees a day. Wet cotton socks in snow are the most common cause of an unhappy child.
- Lip balm, moisturiser, sunscreen and sunglasses matter more than people expect; snow glare and dry air burn faster than the Hyderabad sun.
Altitude
- Hyderabad sits at about 540 m; Manali is about 2,050 m, Sissu around 3,100 m and Rohtang close to 4,000 m. Take the first afternoon slowly, drink water and do not rush up slopes.
- Headache, breathlessness or nausea at Sissu or Rohtang means come down. Anyone with heart or lung problems, and pregnant women, should speak to a doctor before booking the higher excursions.
Telugu meals, biryani and halal food
- Rice and dal are easy: every Manali hotel serves rice, and with a day's notice most of ours will make plain dal, a tomato rasam-style soup and curd rice. We write it on the voucher.
- Spice level: Himachali and Punjabi cooking is far milder than Andhra or Telangana food. Carry avakaya, gongura pickle, karam podi and a few ready-to-eat packets for the long road days.
- Biryani: Manali has biryani on many menus, but set your expectations – it is not Hyderabadi dum biryani. Families often save the craving for Chandigarh on the way back.
- Halal: halal chicken and mutton are available in Manali, mostly at restaurants run by Kashmiri and Muslim owners near Mall Road; some hotels source halal meat on request. Tell us in advance and we confirm with each hotel.
- Vegetarian and Jain: North Indian vegetarian food is everywhere – rajma, chole, paneer, parathas – and pure-veg and Jain meals are arranged on request. Try the local siddu (a steamed stuffed bread) at least once.
- Chandigarh: has South Indian restaurants and good vegetarian thalis, which helps on the first and last nights.

How much does a Manali tour package from Hyderabad cost?
Our Manali packages currently start at ₹12,000 per person for 3 nights. Most of our Manali packages fall between ₹21,999 and ₹42,999 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from Hyderabad are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
Is there a direct flight from Hyderabad to Manali?
No. Manali has no airport of its own, and as of November 2026 the nearest airstrip at Kullu-Bhuntar has no scheduled flight from Delhi or Hyderabad. From Hyderabad you fly non-stop to Chandigarh in about 2½ hours or to Delhi in about 2¼ hours, then continue by road.
Is there a non-stop flight from Hyderabad to Chandigarh?
Yes. IndiGo flies non-stop from RGIA to Chandigarh, roughly once a day, in about 2 hours 25 minutes. Timings vary by day between morning and late evening, and seats sell out around Sankranti and in May. When it is full, we route you through Delhi instead.
How long does it take to reach Manali from Hyderabad?
Plan on most of two days. The flight to Chandigarh takes about 2½ hours and the drive another 7 to 9 hours. We do not drive mountain roads after dark, so we add a night in Chandigarh, Mandi or Kullu and reach Manali on the second day, rested.
Can we fly to Kullu airport instead?
Not this winter. Alliance Air, the only airline at Kullu-Bhuntar, ended its Delhi to Kullu flights on 24 October 2026, and its schedule up to 27 March 2027 shows no Delhi service. A few flights from Jaipur and Dehradun remain. We will check again for summer 2027 trips.
When is the best time to see snow in Manali from Hyderabad?
Late December to February. The Telangana Sankranti holidays, 13 to 17 January 2027, fall right in the snow season, which makes them the best window for children. Snow is likeliest at Solang and Sissu. Snowfall changes every year, so nobody can promise it on a specific date.
Is Manali good for the Telangana summer vacation?
Yes. While Hyderabad crosses 40°C in May, Manali is 15 to 25°C by day. The 2027 vacation starts on 24 April; late April and early May are less crowded than late May. There will be no snow in town, but you can see it near the Atal Tunnel's north side and on Rohtang once it opens.
Can we take a train from Hyderabad for a Manali trip?
Yes, to Delhi. The Telangana Express from Hyderabad Deccan and the Rajdhani from Secunderabad reach the capital in about 22 to 27 hours, and we pick you up there by cab. It adds roughly two days each way, so it suits grandparents who avoid flying and have time.
Will we get Telugu food or halal meat in Manali?
Rice, dal and curd rice are easy, and our hotels make them on request. Food is milder than at home, so carry pickles and podi. Halal chicken and mutton are available at several restaurants near Mall Road, and some hotels source it on request; we confirm in advance.
Do we need to buy full snow clothing in Hyderabad?
No. Buy thermals, woollen socks, gloves and a warm cap before leaving, and wear your normal sweater or fleece. Rent the heavy jacket, waterproof trousers and gumboots in Manali for a few hundred rupees a set. This saves money and suitcase space.
Can we visit Rohtang Pass on a trip from Hyderabad?
Only when it is open, normally from around late May or June to November. Each vehicle needs an online permit, listed at ₹500 plus a ₹50 congestion charge with a daily cap, so we hire a local Manali taxi that holds one. In winter, the Atal Tunnel to Sissu is the snow alternative.
Is Manali or Kashmir better for a snow trip from Hyderabad?
Kashmir has a daily non-stop flight from Hyderabad to Srinagar, so it is quicker to reach, and Gulmarg gets reliable snow. Manali needs a flight plus a long drive but costs less and suits those who like a road trip. Families with very young children often find Kashmir easier.
