Europe Tour Packages from Pune

No non-stop leaves Lohegaon for Europe, so the plan starts with a routing decision: a connection from PNQ or a car down the Expressway to Mumbai. Private Europe trips for Pune families, couples and IT professionals, with the Schengen file prepared for VFS Pune.

Most Europe tour packages from Pune are sold as coach batches: one date, forty travellers, a hotel an hour outside Paris. We work differently. Every Europe trip we plan for Pune travellers is private and customised – your own dates, your own pace, trains or a private vehicle, and Indian, Maharashtrian-friendly or Jain meals where you want them. If you have travelled with a group before, the difference you will notice most is time: no waiting for strangers, and no 6 am departures because the coach has three hotels to collect from.

For Pune the first real decision is the airport. As of November 2026 Pune International Airport at Lohegaon has no non-stop flight to any European city; its only international links are to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bangkok. So you either connect from PNQ through Delhi or the Gulf, or take a car to Mumbai for a non-stop. This page sets out that choice with times and costs, then gives a price guide, the Schengen visa process as it works for Pune residents, three itineraries timed to real flight patterns, a calendar built around Pune's school holidays, IT leave and Ganeshotsav, and honest food notes. Your trip is planned by our team in Ahmedabad and booked on WhatsApp or phone; we have no Pune office.

Europe package price guide for Pune travellers (2026)

Europe packages on our site start at ₹40,999 per person today (13 live). The ranges below are per person for two adults sharing a room and do not include international flights or the visa fee. They cover hotels with breakfast, rail tickets or private transfers between cities, guided city sightseeing, the main mountain or river excursions on each route, and Indian dinners on most evenings.

Air tickets from Pune: a one-ticket routing from PNQ through Delhi or the Gulf usually costs about ₹58,000 – 90,000 per person return in economy when booked two to three months ahead. A Mumbai non-stop is often a little cheaper, about ₹50,000 – 80,000, but add a private car from Pune: roughly ₹4,500 – 7,000 each way for a sedan or SUV, more for a Tempo Traveller. For mid-May to June and the Christmas fortnight, budget ₹90,000 – 1,35,000 either way. Children aged 2 to 11 usually pay 75 to 90% of the adult fare.

Paid on the ground unless your quote includes it: city tourist tax at check-out, lunches, optional extras such as Disneyland Paris or Glacier 3000, train seat reservations if you change dates, tips for drivers and guides, and shopping. For a line-by-line all-in budget, see our Europe trip cost from India guide.

Flying to Europe from Pune: PNQ, Mumbai or Delhi

Schedules below are as of November 2026; airlines retime flights every season, so we confirm flight numbers and times on your quote.

Why Pune has no Europe non-stop

Lufthansa flew Pune–Frankfurt until January 2019. Since then the PNQ runway has been too short for the wide-body aircraft that long-haul flights need. The government has spoken of Europe routes once the runway extension is complete, but none has been scheduled, so plan as if your Europe trip starts with a connection or a drive.

OptionHow it worksDoor-to-door to Zurich or ParisSuitsWatch out for
PNQ, one ticket via DelhiAir India or IndiGo to Delhi (about 2 hours), then a Delhi non-stop to London, Paris, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Zurich, Vienna or MilanAbout 14 – 18 hoursSeniors who should not sit in a car for four hours; travellers from Wakad, Baner or Viman NagarBags checked through only on one ticket; Delhi fog can delay December–January connections
PNQ via the GulfIndiGo or SpiceJet to Dubai, or Air India Express to Abu Dhabi, then onward to EuropeAbout 15 – 19 hoursYoung couples comfortable with a midnight startThe Pune–Gulf legs and the onward flight are often separate tickets – a delay on the first is your risk, not the airline's
Car to Mumbai (BOM), non-stopPrivate car down the Mumbai–Pune Expressway to Terminal 2, then 9 – 10 hours non-stopAbout 15 – 17 hours including the drive and check-inFamilies wanting the widest choice of non-stops and full-service baggageLeave Pune six to seven hours before departure; slower in monsoon ghat traffic
Navi Mumbai (NMI)Closer to Pune than Sahar, about 2 – 2½ hours by roadNot usable for Europe yetGulf flights only as of November 2026We check it on each quote as new routes are added
  • The Expressway drive is now shorter: the "missing link" tunnel section between Khopoli and Kusgaon opened on 1 May 2026 and cuts about 20 – 30 minutes from the Pune–Mumbai run. From Hinjewadi or Wakad, Mumbai airport is now about three hours outside Friday-evening traffic.
  • Mumbai non-stops: as of November 2026 these include Swiss to Zurich, Lufthansa to Frankfurt and Munich, Air France to Paris, KLM and IndiGo to Amsterdam, and Air India, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic to London, among others. Many leave late at night or in the small hours, so the car leaves Pune in the evening.
  • Open-jaw tickets – into Zurich, out of Rome or Vienna – cost about the same as a simple return and save a day of back-tracking. Delhi has the widest spread of these non-stops, which is why the PNQ–Delhi routing often wins for Austria or Italy.
  • Time difference: central Europe is 4½ hours behind Pune from late October to late March and 3½ hours behind in summer; London is one hour further back.

Schengen visa from Pune (as of November 2026)

One Schengen visa covers 29 countries, including France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands. You apply to the country where you spend the most nights; if nights are equal, the country you enter first. We fix the itinerary first and choose the consulate from it.

  • Where Pune residents apply: VFS Global runs a joint visa application centre in Pune that takes Schengen applications for Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Czechia and several other countries. Maharashtra falls under the consulates in Mumbai for most Schengen states, so your file travels from Pune to Mumbai and back. For a country not served in Pune, biometrics are given in Mumbai; we tell you before booking the slot.
  • Slots are the bottleneck: decisions usually come within 15 calendar days of submission (up to 45 in some cases), but appointments for spring and summer are scarce across India. The Pune centre releases fewer slots than Mumbai; when Pune is full, we book Mumbai for the same consulate and plan the drive around it.
  • Fees: €90 per adult and €45 for children aged 6 to 11, free under 6, paid in rupees, plus the VFS service charge. Nothing is refunded on refusal.
  • Documents: passport valid three months beyond return, bank statements for three to six months, two to three years of income-tax returns, and an employer leave letter or business proof. IT employees should ask HR for a leave letter that names the travel dates – a common gap in files we see from Pune.
  • Repeat travellers: under the EU's cascade rule for Indians, two Schengen visas used lawfully in three years can lead to a two-year multiple-entry visa, and then a five-year one. Keep old passports.
  • ETIAS does not apply to you: it is for visa-free nationalities, and its launch has slipped to 2027. The EU Entry/Exit System now records your fingerprints and photo at the first Schengen border, so allow extra time at immigration.
  • London: the UK needs a separate visitor visa, applied online with biometrics at the UK visa centre in Pune; allow three to four weeks and do it after the Schengen passport comes back.

We prepare and submit your application; approval is at the embassy's discretion, and no agent can promise it. The full process with refusal reasons is on our Schengen visa guide for Indians.

Three Europe itineraries planned around Pune departures

6 nights / 8 days – Switzerland for a working couple, via Mumbai

  • Evening before: car from Kharadi or Hinjewadi at about 7 pm; late-night non-stop from Mumbai to Zurich.
  • Day 1: Land in Zurich early morning; train to Lucerne. Old town, Chapel Bridge and an easy lake walk – nothing strenuous after the night flight.
  • Day 2: Mt Titlis by the rotating cable car; evening boat on Lake Lucerne.
  • Day 3: Golden Pass scenic line to Interlaken; Harder Kulm at sunset.
  • Day 4: Jungfraujoch, then Lauterbrunnen valley on the way down.
  • Day 5: Grindelwald First or a day trip to Zermatt for the Matterhorn.
  • Day 6: Train to Zurich; Rhine Falls half-day; shopping for watches and chocolate.
  • Day 7: Midday flight to Mumbai, landing after midnight; car home to Pune by early morning.

Using a long weekend at each end, this needs about five working days of leave.

10 nights / 12 days – family trip in the May vacation, from PNQ via Delhi

  • Day 1: Afternoon flight from Lohegaon to Delhi, connecting to an overnight non-stop to Paris on one ticket.
  • Day 2: Morning arrival; rest, then the Eiffel Tower and an evening cruise on the Seine.
  • Day 3: Disneyland Paris for the children, or the Louvre and Montmartre.
  • Day 4: TGV to Switzerland; check in at Interlaken.
  • Days 5 – 6: Jungfraujoch one day, a slow lake-and-village day the next.
  • Day 7: Lucerne and Titlis.
  • Day 8: Train over the Alps to Milan and on to Venice; gondola in the evening.
  • Day 9: Florence, with Pisa as a half-day.
  • Days 10 – 11: Rome – the Colosseum, the Vatican and Trevi Fountain.
  • Day 12: Rome–Delhi non-stop, then a connection home to Pune the same evening.

8 nights / 10 days – Christmas markets: Switzerland into Austria

  • Days 1 – 2: Fly to Zurich; two nights in Lucerne with a snow day on Titlis.
  • Days 3 – 4: Scenic train to Innsbruck; the old-town market and Swarovski Crystal Worlds.
  • Days 5 – 6: Salzburg, with a day to Hallstatt by private car on icy roads rather than by bus.
  • Days 7 – 8: Vienna – Schönbrunn, the Rathausplatz market and an evening concert.
  • Days 9 – 10: Vienna–Delhi non-stop, connecting to Pune.

Joint families and friend circles from Pune travel as a private group on their own dates, with their own minivan or coach and driver; nobody else joins.

Pune calendar for a Europe trip: school holidays, IT leave and Ganeshotsav

  • Summer vacation (May to mid-June 2027): Maharashtra state-board schools usually break from early May; many CBSE and ICSE schools in Pune close from late April or May. This is when Switzerland fills with Indian families, so file the visa in January–February and book flights by March.
  • After Ganeshotsav: in 2027 the festival runs from about 4 to 14 September. Most Pune families stay home for it; the three weeks after Anant Chaturdashi give mild Alpine weather, autumn colour and lower hotel rates – our favourite window for couples and seniors.
  • Diwali 2027: Lakshmi Puja falls in late October 2027. Europe is cool, about 8 – 15°C, and fares from Mumbai and Delhi rise in that week; book by July.
  • Christmas and New Year: Christmas Day 2026 and New Year's Day 2027 are both Fridays. Many IT teams in Hinjewadi, Magarpatta and Kharadi see quieter weeks while overseas clients are on holiday, and where leave runs on the calendar year, unused days push people to travel in December. Christmas markets open from late November.

Food and practical tips for Pune travellers in Europe

Maharashtrian, Gujarati and Jain food – an honest picture

  • Indian restaurants are easy to find in Paris, London, Interlaken, Lucerne, Zurich, Vienna, Milan, Venice, Florence and Rome. Most serve North Indian Punjabi-style menus; we book them near your hotel for dinners.
  • Maharashtrian food is rare. Outside London you will not find a proper misal or puran poli. Pack what you will miss: bhakarwadi, chivda, ladoo, thepla and ready-to-eat poha or upma cups travel well, and hotels allow a small kettle.
  • Gujarati and Jain: London's Wembley and Harrow make Jain food easy; in Paris, Swiss resort towns and Rome, Indian restaurants can cook without onion, garlic or root vegetables with a day's notice. On mountain days at Jungfraujoch or Titlis the choice is thin, so carry packed food.
  • Fasting days: for Ekadashi or a Monday upvas, take sabudana, rajgira and dry fruit from home; fasting menus do not exist outside Indian kitchens.

Packing and money

  • Layers in every season: Pune's mild winters do not prepare you for −5°C on a glacier in May. Carry thermals, a windproof jacket, gloves and shoes with grip.
  • Money: a multi-currency forex card with euros, Swiss francs and pounds, plus a little cash in each. Switzerland does not use the euro.

Europe tour from Pune: FAQs

How much does a Europe tour package from Pune cost?

Our Europe packages currently start at ₹40,999 per person for 3 nights. Most of our Europe packages fall between ₹49,999 and ₹80,000 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from Pune are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.

Is there a direct flight from Pune to Europe?

No. As of November 2026 Pune airport has no non-stop flight to Europe; the last one, Lufthansa to Frankfurt, ended in January 2019, and the runway is still too short for long-haul aircraft. You either connect from PNQ through Delhi or a Gulf hub, or drive about three to four hours to Mumbai for a non-stop.

Should I fly to Europe from Pune airport or from Mumbai?

Choose Mumbai if you want a non-stop, full-service baggage and the most flight choices, and do not mind a three to four hour drive. Choose PNQ with a Delhi connection on one ticket if you travel with grandparents or live far from the Expressway. We price both, including the car, for your dates.

Can I apply for a Schengen visa in Pune?

Yes, for most of the countries Indians visit first. VFS Global's joint centre in Pune accepts Schengen applications for Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Czechia and others as of November 2026. Files go to the consulates in Mumbai. If your main country is not served in Pune, or Pune slots are full, we book Mumbai instead.

How early should a Pune family book a Europe trip for the May vacation?

Start in December or January. The visa can be filed up to six months ahead, and spring appointment slots in Pune and Mumbai are scarce. Book flights by March and Swiss hotels three to four months ahead. A family that starts planning in April often finds no visa slot before its travel date.

Do you run group tours to Europe from Pune?

No. We plan only private, customised Europe trips: your family or group alone, on dates you choose, with trains or a private vehicle and a pace that suits you. Many Pune families know Europe through coach batches; extended families and friends can still travel together, as a private group with their own vehicle.

What is the best time to visit Europe from Pune?

Late April to June suits school holidays but costs most. The weeks after Ganeshotsav, from mid-September to October, give mild weather, autumn colour and fewer queues at lower prices. December is for Christmas markets and snow. July and August are crowded and hot in Italy and Paris.

Can I get Maharashtrian or Jain food in Europe?

Jain meals, yes, at Indian restaurants with a day's notice, and easily in London. Maharashtrian dishes are rare, so most Pune families carry bhakarwadi, chivda, thepla and ready-to-eat poha. Indian restaurants in every main city serve vegetarian North Indian food, and we book dinners near your hotels and note Jain needs in writing.

How many leave days does an IT professional need for Europe?

A six-night Switzerland trip with an overnight flight each way needs about five working days of leave if it spans two weekends. A ten-night, three-country trip needs eight to nine. Using Christmas and New Year, which both fall on Fridays in 2026–27, saves one or two days.

Can I fly to Europe from the new Navi Mumbai airport?

Not yet. Navi Mumbai International Airport is closer to Pune than Sahar, about two to two and a half hours by road, but as of November 2026 its international flights go only to the Gulf. For Europe, Pune travellers still use Mumbai Terminal 2 or a PNQ connection. We check NMI on every quote as airlines add routes.

Can I add London to a Europe trip from Pune?

Yes, with a separate UK visitor visa, applied online with biometrics at the UK visa centre in Pune. Allow three to four weeks, and apply after the Schengen passport is returned so that both are not pending together. London fits at the start or end, using Eurostar to Paris.
