Bali Tour Packages from Kolkata
One night flight through Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Singapore and you wake up near the Indian Ocean – private Bali holidays from Kolkata planned around the CCU connections, the Puja break, and a plate of grilled fish at Jimbaran.
Kolkata sits closer to Bali than any other big Indian city, yet there is still no non-stop from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) to Denpasar. In practice that matters less than it sounds. The short hops from Kolkata to Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Singapore are among the quickest international flights from India, and the best connections get you to Bali in about 8½ to 10 hours – similar to a one-stop from Mumbai and shorter than many from Delhi. Most of them are night flights, so the choice of hub decides whether you land in Bali at breakfast, at lunch or in the afternoon.
This page is for travellers from Kolkata and the cities that fly through it – Howrah and Salt Lake, but also Siliguri, Durgapur, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi and Patna. It sets out indicative package costs, the CCU routings with their real trade-offs, three itineraries matched to those flights, how Bali fits Durga Puja, the winter break and Poila Baisakh, Balinese festivals that Bengali visitors find familiar, and food for both the fish lovers and the vegetarians in the family. Our team in Ahmedabad plans every trip; we have no Kolkata office, and you plan and book with us on WhatsApp or phone. Each holiday is private, with your own car and driver in Bali.

Airfare from Kolkata: as of November 2026, one-stop economy returns from CCU to Denpasar usually cost about ₹28,000 – 45,000 per person when booked six to eight weeks out. AirAsia and Thai AirAsia sit at the low end but sell checked bags separately; Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines sit higher with bags and meals included. The Puja fortnight, Christmas–New Year and late April push fares to roughly ₹42,000 – 65,000.
Entry per person: IDR 500,000 for the e-VOA (about ₹2,650) and IDR 150,000 for the Bali levy (about ₹800), listed separately on our quote. For the whole trip in rupees – food, tips, SIM and all – see our Bali trip cost guide.
Not in the package price: temple tickets, the Kecak dance, the swing, Mount Batur trek, rafting, Waterbom, spa sessions, beach-club spends, meals not listed and the driver's tip.
Flights from CCU to Bali: choosing the hub
All international flights at Kolkata use the integrated terminal at Dum Dum. The pattern below is as of November 2026; timings change every season, so we confirm exact flights when quoting.
| Hub | Airlines | Typical pattern from Kolkata | Lands in Bali | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kuala Lumpur | Malaysia Airlines; AirAsia | Late-night departure from CCU (around 11 pm – midnight), Kuala Lumpur at dawn, about 3 hours on to Denpasar | Around midday to early afternoon | Value with a reasonable connection; a KL stopover |
| Bangkok Don Mueang | Thai AirAsia | Post-midnight departure, Bangkok before dawn, onward flight in the morning; often the fastest total, about 8½ hours | Early afternoon | Lowest fares; travellers with light bags |
| Bangkok Suvarnabhumi | Thai Airways | Through-ticket with a longer connection on many days | Varies | Full service; a Bangkok stop |
| Singapore | Singapore Airlines | Wide-body flight to Changi, then a shorter flight to Bali; roughly 7–9 hours depending on the layover | Varies by day | Families and seniors wanting comfort and included bags |
| Bengaluru | IndiGo domestic, then IndiGo's overnight non-stop | Evening flight to Bengaluru, departure for Bali just before 1 am | About 10:15 am | An early landing on one airline |
- Time difference: Bali is 2½ hours ahead of Kolkata. A 12:30 pm landing feels like 10 am, after a night that was partly spent in a transit hall.
- Two separate tickets: low fares sometimes come as a Kolkata–Bangkok ticket plus a separate Bangkok–Bali ticket. If the first flight is late you lose the second. We book through-tickets, or build in a Bangkok night if separate tickets save a lot.
- Stopovers: Malaysia is visa-free for Indians until 31 December 2026 unless extended, so two nights in Kuala Lumpur are easy for now; Thailand is visa-free for up to 30 days; a Singapore stopover needs a visa arranged in advance. See our Malaysia visa guide and Singapore visa guide.
- Reaching CCU for a midnight flight: be at the terminal about three hours early. From Salt Lake, New Town or Rajarhat it is a short ride; from Behala, Garia or Howrah allow 60–90 minutes in late-evening traffic, more on match days or during the Puja crowds.
- From north Bengal and the east: travellers from Bagdogra, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi or Patna can connect through CCU on the same ticket as the international flight, so bags are checked through.
Entry rules for Indian passport holders (as of November 2026)
- e-VOA or visa on arrival: IDR 500,000, 30 days, extendable once. In August 2026 Indonesia announced plans to raise this fee, charging more at the airport counter than online; no start date had been confirmed when we last checked. We prepare and submit the e-VOA online; approval rests with Indonesian immigration.
- Bali tourist levy: IDR 150,000 per person, paid on the provincial Love Bali portal before you fly or on arrival; children pay too.
- All Indonesia arrival card: a free online declaration completed within three days before landing.
Passports need six months of validity and a blank page; immigration may ask for your return ticket and hotel vouchers. After a night in transit, having the e-VOA already saves a queue at Denpasar. Our Bali visa guide for Indians covers extensions, children and the fake websites to avoid.

Puja holidays, winter break and Poila Baisakh: when Kolkata travels
| Window | Dates | Bali at that time | Planning note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Puja vacation 2026 (state-board schools) | 15 October – 12 November 2026 | Dry season ending, showers from November | The second half suits a trip after Kali Puja and Bhai Phonta |
| Christmas and winter break | About 24 December – early January (most CBSE and ICSE schools) | Wet season, highest prices | Book by September, or go in the second week of January instead |
| Saraswati Puja | January or February, by the lunar calendar | Wet, villas cheapest | Couples and college friends travel well this month |
| Nyepi | Tuesday 9 March 2027 | Island and airport closed for 24 hours | Do not land or leave that day |
| Poila Baisakh | Mid-April 2027 | Dry season begins | A good long weekend with a day or two of leave |
| Summer vacation | Usually May; state-board dates vary year to year (only 11 – 16 May in 2026) | Dry, green, calm seas | Check your school's circular before we hold flights |
| Durga Puja 2027 | Saptami 6 October – Dashami 10 October 2027 | Dry and sunny | Leaving after Dashami catches Bali's driest weeks; book flights by July |
Many Kolkata families will not miss the Pujo days themselves, so the classic plan is to leave after Dashami or after Lakshmi Puja. In 2027 that means mid-October, when Bali is still dry. Fares out of CCU stay high for about a week after Dashami as the city disperses, so we often suggest flying out a few days later.
Balinese festivals a Bengali family will recognise
- Galungan and Kuningan: for ten days every 210 days, tall curved bamboo poles called penjor line every village street, decorated with palm leaves and offerings. The neighbourhood effort and festive streets feel close to para Pujo. In 2027 Galungan falls on 13 January and Kuningan on 23 January.
- Ogoh-ogoh night: on the eve of Nyepi (8 March 2027), villages parade giant papier-mâché demon figures through the streets with drums and then burn them – young men build them for months, much like a pandal committee builds its idol. The next day the island goes completely silent.
- Saraswati: Bali keeps its own Hari Raya Saraswati, a day for books and learning, on the same 210-day cycle; students bring offerings to temples and schools. Ubud's Pura Taman Saraswati, with a lotus pond in front, is on most of our itineraries.
- Ramayana on stage: the Kecak dance at Uluwatu retells the abduction of Sita and Hanuman's leap, and Legong and Barong performances run nightly in Ubud.
- Temple etiquette: a sarong and sash for everyone, shoulders covered; Balinese custom asks women who are menstruating not to enter temple grounds.
Bali month by month for travellers from Kolkata
| Month | Bali | Kolkata at the same time | Price level |
|---|---|---|---|
| January – February | Heaviest rain, 24–31°C | Pleasant winter, book fair season | Low after the first week of January |
| March | Rain easing; Nyepi closes the island for a day | Warming, Dol Jatra | Low to medium |
| April – May | Dry season begins, still green | Hot, humid, Kalbaishakhi storms | Medium; fares rise in late April |
| June | Dry, comfortable | Monsoon arrives | Medium |
| July – August | Driest, calmest seas for Nusa Penida | Full monsoon, waterlogging | Highest except New Year |
| September – October | Dry, warm, fewer crowds | Pujo season | Medium; CCU fares high in Puja week |
| November | Rains start, usually afternoon showers | Kali Puja, first cool evenings | Medium to low |
| December | Wet; Christmas–New Year rush | Park Street lights, winter | Peak from 20 December |
Kolkata's own humidity is good preparation: Bali at 30°C and 80% humidity feels familiar to most Bengali travellers, unlike visitors from the dry north. The wet months are Kolkata's best weather, though, so a winter trip trades a pleasant home for afternoon storms in Bali – fine for a villa-centred honeymoon, less ideal for a sightseeing-heavy family trip.
Fish, rice and vegetarian meals: food in Bali for Bengalis
For the fish and seafood lovers
- Ikan bakar at Jimbaran: you choose your fish, prawns or squid from the ice at the beach restaurants, they grill it over coconut husks with a sweet-spicy glaze, and you eat with your toes in the sand. Ask the price by weight before cooking.
- Pepes ikan: fish rubbed with spice paste, wrapped in banana leaf and steamed or grilled – the nearest thing in Bali to bhetki paturi, minus the mustard.
- Prawns (udang) appear in curries, satay and fried rice; Balinese fish curry is coconut-based, closer to a malaikari than a jhol.
- Kedonganan fish market near Jimbaran is busy in the morning; if anyone in the family likes the bazaar at Gariahat or Maniktala, they will enjoy it.
- What you will miss: mustard oil and freshwater fish such as rui, katla or ilish. Bali's fish is all from the sea.
For the vegetarians and elders
- Rice is at the centre of every Balinese meal, so a plate of steamed rice with vegetables, tofu and tempeh is easy. Ask for no terasi (shrimp paste) and no fish sauce.
- Family members who eat niramish without onion and garlic can be looked after at Indian restaurants and by villa cooks briefed in writing; local warungs find it hard.
- Indian restaurants in Kuta, Seminyak, Nusa Dua and Ubud serve mostly North Indian food; Bengali dishes are not available, so luchi, alur dom and sondesh stay at home.
- Sweets: klepon (rice balls with palm-sugar syrup inside, rolled in coconut) and black-rice pudding with coconut milk satisfy a nolen-gur craving better than you might expect.
Practical tips
- About 190 rupiah to the rupee; use bank ATMs or authorised money changers.
- Tea drinkers should pack their own leaves; Balinese coffee is strong and good, tea is ordinary.
- Bali uses two-pin European plugs; carry an adapter. Light cottons, a compact umbrella from November to March, and a stole or sarong for temples.
- Drink bottled water, use mosquito repellent at dusk, and take travel insurance for everyone, especially elders.

How much does a Bali tour package from Kolkata cost?
Our Bali packages currently start at ₹10,999 per person for 3 nights. Most of our Bali packages fall between ₹26,999 and ₹55,000 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from Kolkata are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
Is there a direct flight from Kolkata to Bali?
No. As of November 2026 there is no non-stop from Kolkata to Denpasar. You change once, usually in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok or Singapore, and the quickest connections take about 8½ to 10 hours in total. Another option is IndiGo to Bengaluru and its overnight non-stop to Bali, which lands around 10:15 am.
Which connection is best from Kolkata to Bali?
For value with a sensible connection, Kuala Lumpur on Malaysia Airlines or AirAsia, with a late-night departure from Kolkata and a midday landing in Bali. Thai AirAsia through Bangkok is often fastest and cheapest but sells bags separately. Singapore Airlines suits families and seniors who want meals and luggage included.
How much is a Kolkata to Bali return flight?
As of November 2026, one-stop economy returns from Kolkata usually cost about ₹28,000 to 45,000 per person when booked six to eight weeks ahead. Low-cost fares need checked bags added. During the Puja fortnight, Christmas–New Year and late April, expect roughly ₹42,000 to 65,000. We quote live fares for your dates.
Can we go to Bali during the Puja holidays?
Yes, and it is one of the better times. Bali is in its dry season through September and October. Most Kolkata families leave after Dashami or Lakshmi Puja; in 2027 Dashami falls on 10 October. Fares from Kolkata stay high just after the Pujo days, so leaving a few days later can save money.
Do Indians need a visa for Bali?
Indian passport holders get a 30-day visa on arrival, or the same visa online as an e-VOA, for IDR 500,000 as of November 2026, extendable once. Bali also charges a tourist levy of IDR 150,000, and the free All Indonesia arrival card must be filled in before landing. We prepare and submit the e-VOA; approval rests with immigration.
Can we stop in Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok on the way?
Yes. Malaysia is visa-free for Indians until 31 December 2026 unless extended, and Thailand allows visa-free stays of up to 30 days as of November 2026, so a two-night stopover in either city is simple. A Singapore stopover needs a visa arranged before travel. We build the stopover into one through-ticket.
Is Bali good for fish and seafood lovers from Kolkata?
Very. Jimbaran's beach restaurants grill fresh fish, prawns and squid that you choose by weight, and pepes ikan, fish steamed in banana leaf, is close to paturi. All the fish is from the sea, so there is no rui, katla or ilish, and dishes use coconut and chilli rather than mustard.
Will vegetarian elders find suitable food in Bali?
Yes, with some planning. Steamed rice with vegetables, tofu and tempeh is everywhere if you ask for no shrimp paste. For niramish meals without onion and garlic, Indian restaurants and villa cooks briefed in writing are the reliable options. We note every request on the hotel vouchers.
How early should we reach Kolkata airport for a midnight flight?
About three hours before departure, so around 9 pm for a midnight flight. From Salt Lake or New Town that is a short drive; from Behala, Garia or Howrah, leave 60 to 90 minutes before that, and more during Puja crowds or big match nights at Eden Gardens or Salt Lake stadium.
How many nights should we plan for Bali from Kolkata?
Five nights works for a honeymoon on a Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok connection that lands by midday. Six nights is more relaxed for families with elders. Seven or eight nights lets you add a night on Nusa Penida or a two-night stopover in Kuala Lumpur or Bangkok.
Do you have an office in Kolkata?
No. Vibrant Holidays has planned holidays from Ahmedabad for 11 years. Kolkata clients plan with us on WhatsApp or phone, pay online, and receive tickets, the e-VOA, villa vouchers and the invoice as PDFs. During the trip, a 24x7 WhatsApp line and our Bali ground partner handle any change.
