Thailand Tour Packages from Kolkata
Under three hours from Dum Dum to Bangkok, a morning hop straight to Phuket, and Thai seafood that Bengali travellers take to at once – private Thailand trips timed around Puja, Poila Baisakh and the summer break.
For a traveller in Kolkata, Bangkok is closer in flying time than Delhi or Mumbai. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) has several non-stop departures to Bangkok every day, a low-cost overnight flight into Don Mueang, and an IndiGo morning flight that lands in Phuket before lunch. That geography makes Thailand the most practical first foreign holiday for many Bengali families, and a short, repeatable break for couples who have been once already.
This page is written for travellers from Kolkata and eastern India. It explains what a Thailand package really costs per person, which CCU flights suit which plan, the entry rules for Indian passport holders as of October 2026, three day-wise itineraries, how to use the Durga Puja and summer breaks, a month-by-month table, and food tips for fish-loving and vegetarian travellers alike. Every trip is private – your own transfers, your own dates – and it is planned by our team in Ahmedabad, with booking done on WhatsApp or phone. We have no Kolkata office and do not pretend to.

What a Thailand package from Kolkata costs (2026)
Our Thailand packages currently start at ₹13,000 per person, and 24 of them are on sale today. Use the bands below to judge any quote. They are per person on twin sharing and leave out the international airfare. They cover hotels with breakfast, private airport and intercity transfers, and one headline excursion in each stop: Coral Island from Pattaya, a city and temple tour in Bangkok, a Phi Phi speedboat day from Phuket and the 4-Island tour from Krabi.
| Route | Standard (3-star) | Deluxe (4-star) | Premium (5-star / pool villa) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 nights – Bangkok (2), Pattaya (2) | ₹17,000 – 22,500 | ₹24,500 – 32,000 | ₹42,000 – 62,000 |
| 5 nights – Phuket (3), Krabi (2), fly in and out of Phuket | ₹23,000 – 30,000 | ₹32,000 – 42,000 | ₹56,000 – 85,000 |
| 6 nights – Phuket (3), Bangkok (3) | ₹27,000 – 34,500 | ₹37,000 – 49,000 | ₹63,000 – 95,000 |
| 8 nights – Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi | ₹36,000 – 46,000 | ₹50,000 – 66,000 | ₹88,000 – 1,35,000 |
Airfare from Kolkata: a return CCU–Bangkok ticket usually lands between ₹13,000 and ₹24,000 per person when booked five to eight weeks ahead. The low-cost Don Mueang flight sits at the lower end with cabin bags only; full-service fares with checked baggage sit higher. The direct Kolkata–Phuket flight typically costs ₹16,000 to ₹28,000 return. Puja week, Christmas–New Year and the May school break push both routes up by ₹6,000 to ₹14,000.
Paid in Thailand unless we include it: national park fees on island days (roughly THB 200–400 per adult, in cash), Safari World and Marine Park, the Alcazar or Tiffany show, the Chao Phraya dinner cruise, Simon Cabaret in Phuket, lunches and dinners, Thai massage and tips. Your quote prices each one separately so you decide at home what to add, rather than at a tour desk.
Reading a quote: the big swings come from three lines – whether island tours are by private longtail or on a shared speedboat, whether the Pattaya hotel is on Beach Road or two kilometres inland, and whether Bangkok is near the river or out by the airport. Check those before comparing totals.
Flights from Kolkata (CCU) and how each one shapes your first day
All international flights to Thailand leave from the integrated terminal at CCU. As of October 2026 the non-stop pattern looks like this – schedules change with every season, so treat it as a guide and we confirm the exact flight at booking.
| Route | Who flies it | Flying time | Typical timing and what it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kolkata – Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) | Thai Airways, IndiGo, Thai Vietjet, SpiceJet, Bhutan Airlines | About 2½–3 hours | Spread through the day and night; a late-morning or afternoon departure lets you check in on arrival without paying for an early room |
| Kolkata – Bangkok Don Mueang (DMK) | Thai AirAsia (Thai Lion Air announced from December) | About 2½ hours | Leaves just after midnight, lands around 4.30 am local; cheapest, but plan an early check-in |
| Kolkata – Phuket (HKT) | IndiGo, about six days a week | About 3 hours | Early-morning departure, lands late morning; beach by afternoon on day one |
| Kolkata – Krabi (KBV) | No non-stop | 5–8 hours with a change | Better to fly into Phuket and drive about 2½–3 hours, or change in Bangkok |
- Time difference: Thailand is 1½ hours ahead of India. A flight leaving at 7 am Indian time lands in Phuket close to noon local time.
- Open-jaw tickets: because Phuket now has its own CCU flight, a Phuket-in, Bangkok-out ticket (or the reverse) avoids flying back over the same leg. A domestic Thai sector between Phuket and Bangkok adds roughly ₹3,500 to ₹7,000 per person.
- Getting to CCU: allow at least 3 hours before an international departure. From Salt Lake or New Town the drive is short; from south Kolkata, Howrah or Behala budget 60 to 90 minutes in evening traffic. Travellers from Siliguri, Guwahati or Bhubaneswar can connect through CCU on one ticket.
- Baggage: low-cost fares often include only 7 kg of cabin baggage. Families carrying gifts or packed food should add checked baggage at booking, when it is cheaper than at the counter.
Thailand entry rules for Indian passport holders (as of October 2026)
Indians can visit Thailand for tourism without a visa, but the allowed stay has changed. From 15 September 2026 the visa-free stay is 30 days per entry, down from the 60 days allowed since 2024. Thirty days is more than any of our packages need. Our Thailand visa guide for Indians covers the detail and the e-visa route for longer stays.
- Passport: valid at least six months beyond your arrival date, with blank pages.
- Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC): free, filled online within 72 hours before you land. One person can add family members, but every traveller gets a separate card. Avoid paid look-alike sites.
- Documents at immigration: a confirmed return or onward ticket and hotel bookings for the whole stay. Keep the PDFs on your phone and one printed set.
- Money: the Indian Embassy in Bangkok advises carrying at least THB 20,000 per traveller or its equivalent; checks are random but real.
- Insurance: not compulsory for visa-free entry, but we strongly advise a policy that covers medical treatment and water activities.
These facts are correct as of October 2026; rules change – we check before you book. If anyone in your group needs a visa, we prepare and submit your application; approval is at the authority's discretion.

- Day 5: 4-Island tour by longtail: Phra Nang Cave beach, Chicken Island, Tup Island sandbar.

- Day 7: Transfer to Phuket; afternoon at leisure.
- Day 8: Phi Phi day trip.
- Day 9: Fly home non-stop from Phuket – the return leg that saves you a Bangkok connection.
Seniors usually prefer to drop Pattaya and spend four nights in one Bangkok riverside hotel with half-day outings. Honeymooners often swap Patong for a quieter Kata or Kamala stay and add a private longtail day in Krabi. Every plan is yours to reshape, because each trip is private.
Puja holidays, Poila Baisakh and the West Bengal school calendar
Most Kolkata families have two or three fixed windows each year, and Thailand fits each of them differently.
- Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja: offices and schools close for the Puja days, and many families leave the city right after Dashami. The weather in Thailand is still in its rainy tail in October, so Bangkok and Pattaya work better than the islands. Fares from CCU jump for Puja week; book by July or early August for the best seats.
- Kali Puja, Diwali and Bhai Phonta: a short three- or four-night Bangkok trip fits between the festivals. Early November is when the Andaman coast starts to dry out.
- Christmas and New Year: Kolkata empties towards Park Street or the hills, and Thailand fills with tourists from everywhere. Hotels in Phuket and Krabi are at their dearest from 20 December to 5 January. If your dates are flexible, the second week of January is quieter and noticeably cheaper.
- Poila Baisakh and Songkran: the Bengali New Year falls in mid-April, the same week as Songkran, Thailand's water festival. It is hot and joyful; streets in Bangkok and Phuket turn into friendly water fights for three days. Pack quick-dry clothes and a waterproof phone pouch.
- Summer vacation: West Bengal schools generally break from May into June. May is hot in Bangkok and the start of the wet season on the Andaman coast, so we tilt May trips towards Bangkok, Pattaya and the calmer Gulf side, or keep island days early in the month.
Thailand month by month for travellers from Kolkata
| Month | Weather | Best for | Price level |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | Dry and cooler, about 22–32°C | Every route; calm seas in Phuket and Krabi | High in the first week, then medium-high |
| February | Dry, clear water | Honeymoons, snorkelling, Saraswati Puja breaks | Medium-high |
| March | Hot, still dry | Islands, family trips before exams end | Medium |
| April | Hottest month, up to 35–37°C | Songkran around Poila Baisakh | Medium; Songkran week high |
| May | Hot; Andaman coast turns wet | School-holiday Bangkok–Pattaya trips | Medium; flights high |
| June | Showers most afternoons | Bangkok shopping, value hotels | Low |
| July | Wet season | Budget city trips; Koh Samui side is drier | Low |
| August | Wet season | Independence Day long weekend in Bangkok | Low |
| September | Wettest month on the islands | Bangkok and Pattaya only | Lowest |
| October | Rain easing | Puja holidays in Bangkok and Pattaya | Flights high in Puja week |
| November | Dry season begins; Loy Krathong lantern festival | Islands reopen fully; couples | Medium |
| December | Dry, pleasant | Christmas and New Year | Highest from 20 December |
For Puja, Christmas and the May break, book six to ten weeks out. In the quieter months three to four weeks is usually enough, and CCU fares can be surprisingly cheap.
Food, money and packing tips for Bengali travellers
Eating well in Thailand
- Fish and seafood: Bengali travellers usually enjoy Thailand's food more than any other group we plan for. Steamed sea bass with lime, prawn curries, grilled squid and crab fried rice are easy to find. Ask for dishes "mai phet" if you want them less spicy.
- Rice with every meal: jasmine rice is the default, so a rice-and-curry lunch feels familiar.
- Vegetarian and Jain: Indian restaurants with pure-veg menus are common in Pattaya, Bangkok's Sukhumvit and Pratunam, and Patong. Jain food is limited outside these areas; we arrange it at hotels on request and confirm it in writing. Thai street food often uses fish sauce, so vegetarians should say "jay" (no animal products).
- Sweets: mango sticky rice and coconut desserts are the nearest thing to a mishti fix.
Money and practical points
- Carry some baht in cash – forex counters near Park Street and at CCU work – and use a forex card for larger payments. UPI is accepted at a small but growing number of Thai shops.
- Buy a Thai tourist SIM at the airport or an eSIM before you fly; it makes Grab and Bolt cabs easy.
- Temples need covered shoulders and knees. Carry a light scarf or stole.
- Pack sunscreen, reef-safe if possible, a cap, sandals for longtail boats and a light rain jacket from May to October.
- Do not ride with bike-rental operators who hold your passport as a deposit; it is a common scam.
Why Kolkata travellers book Thailand with Vibrant Holidays
- Honest remote planning: our team works from Ahmedabad and has planned trips for travellers across India since 2015. You speak to a named planner on WhatsApp or phone; itineraries, vouchers and invoices arrive as PDFs.
- Flights matched to the plan: we choose between the CCU–Bangkok, Don Mueang and Phuket flights based on your first and last day, not on which fare looks cheapest in isolation.
- Private, not pooled: your own transfers in Thailand and your own dates; extended families travel as a private group, never with strangers on a coach.
- Transparent extras: park fees, shows and optional tours are listed line by line so the trip cost you see at home is the trip cost you pay.
- Support while you travel: a 24×7 WhatsApp line throughout the trip, and an office open Monday to Saturday. IATA-accredited; member of TAAI, TAFI, ADTOI and IATO; recognised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

How much does a Thailand tour package from Kolkata cost?
Our Thailand packages currently start at ₹13,000 per person for 2 nights. Most of our Thailand packages fall between ₹29,800 and ₹62,500 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from {$from} are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
Is there a direct flight from Kolkata to Thailand?
Yes. Several airlines fly non-stop from Kolkata to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, including Thai Airways and IndiGo, in about two and a half to three hours. Thai AirAsia flies overnight to Don Mueang, and IndiGo has a morning non-stop to Phuket on about six days a week. Krabi has no non-stop and is reached through Phuket or Bangkok.
Do Indians need a visa for Thailand in October 2026?
No visa is needed for a tourist stay of up to 30 days per entry; the limit was cut from 60 days on 15 September 2026. You must file the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card online within 72 hours before arrival and carry a return ticket, hotel bookings and funds. Rules change, so we check them again before you book.
How many days are enough for Thailand from Kolkata?
Four nights covers Bangkok and Pattaya comfortably because the flight is short. Five or six nights suits a beach trip to Phuket and Krabi or a family plan with Safari World. Eight nights lets you see Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket and Krabi without rushing, using the direct Phuket flight for the return.
Is the Kolkata to Phuket flight better than going via Bangkok?
For a beach-focused trip, yes. The IndiGo non-stop leaves early and lands late morning, so you lose no time on a domestic connection or a long transfer. For a mixed trip, flying into Bangkok and out of Phuket, or the reverse, avoids backtracking. We price both options so you can compare total cost and time.
Is Thailand a good choice during the Durga Puja holidays?
Yes, if you focus on Bangkok and Pattaya. October is the end of the rainy season, so island boat trips can be cancelled on rough days. Flights from Kolkata are expensive in Puja week, so booking two to three months ahead helps. Early November is better if you want Phuket and Krabi.
Will a Bengali family find familiar food in Thailand?
Mostly yes. Rice is served with every meal, and fish, prawns and crab are everywhere, cooked with lime, garlic and chilli. Bangkok and Pattaya also have Bengali-run and Indian restaurants. Ask for dishes to be made less spicy if children are travelling. Vegetarians eat well at Indian restaurants in the tourist areas.
How much cash should I carry to Thailand?
Carry at least THB 20,000 per traveller or its equivalent, which the Indian Embassy in Bangkok advises for visa-free entry. A mix of baht notes and a forex card works best. Cash is needed for park fees, street food and small shops, while hotels, malls and larger restaurants take cards.
Can senior citizens from Kolkata manage a Thailand trip?
Yes. The short flight helps, and we plan a slower pace: one Bangkok riverside hotel, half-day outings, a wheelchair at the airport when requested and no speedboat days for anyone with back trouble. Choose a daytime flight rather than the post-midnight one, and carry prescriptions in cabin baggage with a doctor’s note.
Which is the cheapest time to travel to Thailand from Kolkata?
June to September is the cheapest period for hotels, and airfares are at their lowest outside festival weeks. It is the rainy season, so it suits Bangkok and Pattaya more than the islands. For the best balance of weather and price, look at late November, the second half of January or March.
Can I combine Thailand with another country from Kolkata?
Yes. Bangkok is a short hop from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Siem Reap, so a Thailand and Singapore or Thailand and Malaysia trip is easy to build. You fly into one country and back from the other. Check the entry rules for both countries, which we confirm at the time of booking.
How do I book if Vibrant Holidays has no office in Kolkata?
You plan with our Ahmedabad team on WhatsApp or phone. We send a written itinerary with hotel names and prices, revise it as often as you need, then share invoices and vouchers as PDFs. Payments are made online. During the trip a 24×7 WhatsApp line handles any change, from a delayed flight to a new restaurant suggestion.
