Thailand's dry season begins at almost exactly the moment Delhi's air turns grey. From late October to February, when the AQI in the capital climbs and fog delays morning flights, Phuket, Krabi and Bangkok are at their clearest and calmest. Indira Gandhi International Airport has more non-stop choice to Thailand than any other Indian city: Thai Airways, Air India and IndiGo to Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi, Thai AirAsia X to Don Mueang, and IndiGo and Air India straight to Phuket. Flying time is about four to four and a half hours, so a five-night trip loses very little to travel.

This page is for travellers from Delhi, Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad. It shows what a Thailand holiday costs per person, which IGI flight fits which plan, the entry rules for Indians as of November 2026, three day-wise itineraries including a Chiang Mai route that none of the beach-only plans cover, how the Delhi school calendar meets Thailand's rainy season, a month table, and food from dal makhani in Sukhumvit to the langar at the Pahurat gurdwara. Every trip is private and customised, planned by our team in Ahmedabad and booked on WhatsApp or phone. We have no Delhi office.

Thailand trip cost from Delhi: per-person bands for 2026

Thailand packages on our site start at ₹13,000 per person right now, and 24 are live. The bands below are indicative, per person with two sharing, and exclude the international flight from Delhi. They include hotels with breakfast, private transfers, domestic flights inside Thailand where the route needs them, and one main excursion at each stop. Prices vary by season and by the hotels you choose.

Airfare from Delhi: a return Delhi–Bangkok economy ticket usually costs about ₹18,000 to ₹30,000 per person on a full-service airline when booked five to eight weeks out; low-cost Don Mueang fares can come in lower if you travel with cabin bags only. The Phuket non-stops sit in a similar range. Christmas–New Year, Diwali week and the first fortnight of the Delhi summer vacation push fares above ₹32,000. Koh Samui and Chiang Mai are reached by a connecting flight from Bangkok, which the table already includes.

Not in the price unless you add it: marine park fees on island days, paid in baht cash; elephant-sanctuary visits near Chiang Mai; cabaret shows; Thai massage; meals beyond breakfast; and tips. Your quote shows each with an estimate. When two quotes for the same route differ sharply, compare the hotel location (Patong versus Kata, Sukhumvit versus the airport ring road) and whether island trips are private or on shared boats.

Non-stop flights from IGI to Bangkok, Don Mueang and Phuket

The pattern below is as of November 2026. Airlines adjust days and timings each season, and we confirm the flight on your dates before booking.

Route from DelhiAirlinesFlying timeWhat the timing usually means
DEL – Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK)Thai Airways, Air India, IndiGoAbout 4–4¼ hoursA mix of red-eye and daytime departures; full-service fares include checked bags and meals
DEL – Bangkok Don Mueang (DMK)Thai AirAsia X, about four times a week; Thai Lion Air has announced flights from DecemberAbout 4 hoursEvening departure arriving after midnight local time; cheapest seats, strict baggage limits
DEL – Phuket (HKT)IndiGo (morning departure, afternoon arrival) and Air India (overnight departure, early-morning arrival)About 4½ hoursBeach-first trips with no Bangkok connection
DEL – Krabi, Koh Samui, Chiang MaiNo non-stopConnect in BangkokFly into Phuket for Krabi (2½–3 h by road), or add a short domestic flight
  • Time difference: Thailand is 1½ hours ahead of Delhi. A 9.30 am IndiGo departure lands in Phuket mid-afternoon local time – enough for a check-in and sunset at the beach.
  • Overnight flights: a departure around 1 am lands at about 7 am Thai time. We arrange early check-in or book the room from the previous night so nobody spends the morning in a lobby.
  • Winter fog: from mid-December to January, dense fog at IGI regularly delays early-morning flights. Leave at least three hours between your arrival in Bangkok and any domestic onward flight, and avoid same-day connections to Koh Samui on separate tickets.
  • Getting to IGI: most international flights use Terminal 3, but check the terminal printed on your e-ticket. The Airport Express metro line reaches T3 from New Delhi station in about 20 minutes. By road, allow 45 minutes from Gurugram and 75–90 minutes from Noida or east Delhi in evening traffic.
  • Two Bangkok airports: Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang are about an hour apart by road. If you fly in on a low-cost carrier and onward on a full-service one, the transfer plan must name both.

Visa-free entry for Indians (as of November 2026)

Indians still do not need a visa for a Thailand holiday, but the permitted stay changed recently. Since 15 September 2026, holders of ordinary Indian passports may stay up to 30 days per entry for tourism, down from 60 days. Every itinerary on this page fits well inside that limit.

  • Before you fly: fill the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) on the official immigration website within 72 hours of landing. Every traveller, including children, gets a separate card. Sites that charge a fee are not official.
  • At the counter: a passport valid six months beyond arrival, a confirmed return ticket within 30 days, hotel bookings for every night and money for the stay. The Indian Embassy in Bangkok advises at least THB 20,000 per traveller. Each person in a family or friends' group should carry their own set of papers.
  • Officer's discretion: visa-free entry is decided at immigration, so carry printed bookings as well as phone copies.
  • Staying longer, or travelling for work: trips beyond 30 days need the Thai e-visa (₹3,000 single entry, 60 days, as of November 2026), and business meetings need a business visa. We prepare and submit the application; approval is the Thai authorities' decision.

Our Thailand visa guide for Indians has the full rules and e-visa steps, and visa-free countries for Indians lists other easy-entry options. Rules change; we check again before you book.

Three Thailand itineraries planned around Delhi flights

5 nights / 6 days – Phuket and Krabi on the morning non-stop

  • Day 1: IndiGo from IGI at about 9.30 am, landing in Phuket mid-afternoon. Transfer to a Kata or Karon hotel; Promthep Cape at sunset.
  • Day 2: Phi Phi Islands by speedboat with Maya Bay and Pileh Lagoon; back by late afternoon.
  • Day 3: Drive to Krabi (2½–3 hours) along the Phang Nga coast; evening on Ao Nang beach.
  • Day 4: Longtail day around Railay, Phra Nang cave beach and the Chicken and Tup islands.
  • Day 5: Back to Phuket by road; Old Phuket Town's shophouse lanes and the Sunday walking market if the day fits.
  • Day 6: Afternoon IndiGo non-stop home, landing in Delhi in the evening.

4 nights / 5 days – Bangkok and Pattaya on an overnight flight

  • Day 1: Leave Delhi around midnight, land at Suvarnabhumi at dawn; room ready on arrival. After a rest, an evening at Asiatique on the riverfront.
  • Day 2: Drive to Pattaya (about 2 hours) via the Damnoen Saduak floating market; evening cabaret.
  • Day 3: Koh Larn by speedboat; parasailing or a glass-bottom boat for those who want it.
  • Day 4: Back to Bangkok; Grand Palace and Wat Arun, then shopping at Pratunam, Platinum or MBK.
  • Day 5: Free morning, flight to Delhi.

This is the plan Delhi families use for a first trip abroad and the one friends' groups ask for over a long weekend. Friends travel as a private group on their own dates, with one van and rooms booked together.

7 nights / 8 days – winter escape: Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket

  • Days 1–2: Fly to Bangkok. Wat Pho, the Chao Phraya by long-tail boat and a free evening in Chinatown.
  • Day 3: Short flight to Chiang Mai. Doi Suthep temple above the city in the cool afternoon; Night Bazaar.
  • Day 4: An ethical elephant sanctuary where you feed and walk with the animals (no riding), then the old-city temples by tuk-tuk.
  • Day 5: Fly Chiang Mai–Phuket. Beach afternoon in Kamala or Bang Tao.
  • Day 6: James Bond Island and Phang Nga Bay by big boat, with sea-canoeing through the caves.
  • Day 7: A slow day – spa, Big Buddha, beach club.
  • Day 8: Non-stop Phuket–Delhi.

Chiang Mai mornings in December and January are 14–18°C, which Delhi travellers find familiar and comfortable, while the afternoons are warm and clear. Seniors who prefer one base can stay four nights in a Bangkok riverside hotel and three in Phuket instead.

Delhi smog, school holidays and Thailand's two rainy coasts

Delhi's calendar and Thailand's weather line up well in winter and less well in summer. Knowing which coast is dry when solves most of the problem.

  • Diwali to mid-December: the worst air-quality weeks in Delhi coincide with Thailand's change to the dry season. Phuket and Krabi improve steadily through November, and Loy Krathong, the lantern festival on the November full moon, is lovely in Chiang Mai. Diwali week fares are high; the fortnight after Bhai Dooj is better value.
  • Christmas and the January winter break: Delhi schools usually close in early January. This is Thailand's peak – the driest, calmest weeks of the year – and also its most expensive. Book flights and Phuket hotels by October.
  • Holi and March: board exams keep most families at home, which makes March a good month for couples. Seas on the Andaman side are still calm.
  • Summer vacation (May to June): Delhi's Directorate of Education schools closed from 11 May to 30 June in 2026, and many private schools follow a similar pattern. From mid-May the south-west monsoon reaches the Andaman coast – Phuket, Krabi and Phi Phi – and boat trips are cancelled on rough days. The Gulf of Thailand side is different: Koh Samui is mostly dry from June to August, and Bangkok has short afternoon showers rather than all-day rain. For a summer holiday from Delhi we plan Bangkok with Koh Samui, or Bangkok with Pattaya, rather than Phuket.
  • Long weekends: Republic Day, Holi, Independence Day and Dussehra regularly create three- or four-day breaks; a 4-night Bangkok–Pattaya plan fits with two days of leave on the overnight flights.

North Indian food, drinks and practical tips for Delhi travellers

Food

  • North Indian comfort food: Sukhumvit in Bangkok, Pattaya's Beach Road and Patong in Phuket all have Punjabi-style restaurants serving dal makhani, paneer tikka, butter chicken and tandoori rotis. Delhi families rarely go a day without a familiar meal if they want one.
  • Pahurat: Bangkok's Little India, beside Chinatown, has sweet shops, pure-veg dhabas and the large Gurdwara Siri Guru Singh Sabha, which serves langar. Many Sikh families from Delhi make it part of the Bangkok day.
  • Thai food worth trying: green and massaman curries, pad thai, grilled chicken with sticky rice and mango sticky rice. Ask for "mai phet" for mild. Fish sauce goes into most dishes, so vegetarians should ask for "jay" food, marked with a yellow flag.
  • Jain and strict vegetarian: easiest in Bangkok and Pattaya; harder on Phi Phi and around Krabi. We request it from hotels in writing and suggest carrying ready-to-eat packets for island days.
  • Drinks: alcohol sale hours are restricted by law and shops stop selling on some Buddhist holidays and election days. Do not carry vapes or e-cigarettes; they are illegal in Thailand and fines are heavy.

Practical points

  • Money: buy baht from an authorised money changer in Delhi – Connaught Place and the airport both have counters – or load a forex card. Keep part of the THB 20,000 per person in cash for immigration and island fees.
  • Clothes: pack for summer even in December – light cotton, sandals for boats, a cap – plus one layer for Chiang Mai mornings and air-conditioned malls. Leave the heavy Delhi winter wear in the car at the airport.
  • Temples: shoulders and knees covered at the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Doi Suthep.
  • SIM and cabs: a Thai tourist SIM or eSIM costs a few hundred baht and makes Grab and Bolt easy.
  • Health: travel insurance is not required for visa-free entry, but buy one that covers water sports and scooter accidents – the two most common claims.

Thailand tour from Delhi: FAQs

How much does a Thailand tour package from Delhi cost?

Our Thailand packages currently start at ₹13,000 per person for 2 nights. Most of our Thailand packages fall between ₹29,800 and ₹62,500 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from Delhi are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.

Is there a direct flight from Delhi to Thailand?

Yes, several. As of November 2026 Thai Airways, Air India and IndiGo fly non-stop from Delhi to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi in about four hours, and Thai AirAsia X flies to Don Mueang a few times a week. IndiGo and Air India also fly non-stop to Phuket in about four and a half hours. Krabi, Koh Samui and Chiang Mai need a connection.

Can I fly from Delhi straight to Phuket?

Yes. IndiGo runs a morning non-stop that lands in Phuket in the afternoon, and Air India has operated an overnight flight that arrives early in the morning. Both take around four and a half hours. For a beach-only holiday this saves the Bangkok connection, and Krabi is a two-and-a-half to three-hour drive from Phuket.

Do Indians need a visa for Thailand from Delhi?

Not for tourism of up to 30 days per entry, as of November 2026; the stay was cut from 60 days on 15 September 2026. Fill the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card within 72 hours before arrival and carry a return ticket, hotel bookings and funds. The immigration officer decides entry at the counter.

What is the Delhi to Bangkok return airfare?

Usually about ₹18,000 to ₹30,000 per person on a full-service airline in economy when booked five to eight weeks ahead, and less on low-cost Don Mueang flights with cabin bags only. Christmas week, Diwali and the start of the Delhi summer vacation push fares above ₹32,000. Book early for those dates.

Is Thailand a good escape from Delhi pollution in winter?

Yes. November to February, when Delhi's air quality is at its worst, is Thailand's dry season with clear skies on both the islands and in Bangkok. Phuket and Krabi are at their calmest in December and January. Chiang Mai in the north adds cool, clean mornings for travellers who prefer hills to beaches.

Can we go to Thailand in the Delhi summer vacation?

Yes, with the right route. From mid-May the monsoon reaches Phuket, Krabi and Phi Phi, so boat trips can be cancelled. Koh Samui on the Gulf side stays mostly dry from June to August, and Bangkok has short showers. We plan Bangkok with Koh Samui or Pattaya for May and June travel from Delhi.

Will fog in Delhi affect my Thailand flight?

It can between mid-December and January, when dense fog delays early-morning departures at IGI. We avoid tight same-day connections inside Thailand in those weeks, keep at least three hours between landing and any domestic flight, and prefer one ticket for the whole journey so the airline rebooks you if a delay breaks the connection.

Is North Indian food available in Thailand?

Yes. Bangkok's Sukhumvit and Pahurat areas, Pattaya and Patong in Phuket have many Punjabi and North Indian restaurants serving dal, paneer, tandoori rotis and butter chicken. Pahurat's gurdwara serves langar. Vegetarians manage easily in the cities; Jain food is harder on the islands, so we request it from hotels in writing.

How many days are enough for Thailand from Delhi?

Four nights covers Bangkok and Pattaya. Five nights suits Phuket and Krabi using the direct Phuket flight. Seven or eight nights lets you add Chiang Mai or combine Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket without rushing. Because the flight is only about four hours, even a long weekend trip from Delhi is practical.

Which terminal at IGI do Thailand flights use?

Most international flights from Delhi, including those to Bangkok and Phuket, leave from Terminal 3, but airlines have shifted terminals during airport works, so always check the e-ticket. The Airport Express metro reaches T3 from New Delhi station in about 20 minutes, and you should arrive three hours before departure.

Can a group of friends from Delhi travel together?

Yes. Every trip is private and customised, so a friends' group or an extended family travels as a private group on its own dates, with one van for transfers, rooms booked together and mixed food needs handled at each hotel. Popular choices are Bangkok and Pattaya for a long weekend or Phuket and Krabi for five nights.
