Maldives Tour Packages from Delhi
About four hours from IGI to a lagoon at 29°C – private Maldives holidays planned around the morning non-stop, Delhi's fog weeks and the wedding season, with every tax and transfer on one quote.
From Delhi the Maldives is closer than most people think. A morning non-stop from Indira Gandhi International Airport reaches Malé in about four hours, roughly the same time it takes to fly to Port Blair, and the Indian passport gets a free visa on arrival. That is why Delhi and NCR couples now ask us about the Maldives as often as about Bali or Thailand, especially in the wedding season from November to February, when a honeymoon has to fit between the reception and the return to office.
This page is for travellers from Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. It sets out what a Maldives package costs per person, the IGI non-stop and the one-stop backups as of November 2026, why Delhi's winter fog changes the choice between speedboat and seaplane resorts, three itineraries built on the Delhi flight times, entry rules and taxes, the 2026–27 long weekends, a month-by-month table, and frank notes on North Indian food and drinks at resorts. Planning is done by our team in Ahmedabad over WhatsApp or phone; we have no Delhi office, and your tickets and vouchers arrive as PDFs. The packages below show live prices.

Maldives package cost from Delhi (2026–27)
There are 16 Maldives packages on sale today, from ₹18,000 per person. The bands below are per person, two sharing, and exclude the Delhi–Malé airfare. They include the room, the stated meal plan, return transfers from Velana airport, green tax, 17% TGST and service charge – the lines that most often go missing from cheap-looking quotes.
| Stay | Local island (guesthouse, breakfast, shared speedboat) | 4-star resort (beach villa, half board, speedboat) | 5-star resort (beach + water villa, all-inclusive) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 nights | ₹21,000 – 31,000 | ₹58,000 – 85,000 | ₹1,05,000 – 1,70,000 |
| 4 nights | ₹27,000 – 39,000 | ₹74,000 – 1,05,000 | ₹1,35,000 – 2,20,000 |
| 5 nights | ₹32,000 – 47,000 | ₹88,000 – 1,25,000 | ₹1,60,000 – 2,70,000 |
Seaplane resorts in the far atolls sit at the top of the 5-star column or above it, because the seaplane alone often costs about US$500 – 900 per person return (₹47,000 – 85,000 at about ₹95 to the dollar).
Airfare from Delhi: as of November 2026, a return economy ticket on the non-stop usually costs about ₹22,000 – 38,000 per person when booked six to eight weeks ahead. Christmas–New Year and the first half of January go to roughly ₹40,000 – 55,000. One-stop routes via Mumbai or Bengaluru are sometimes cheaper but add three to six hours. The Maldives airport departure fee of US$50 per person in economy is collected inside the airline ticket.
Extra on the ground: sunset dolphin cruise (about US$60 – 90 a head), snorkelling trip (US$50 – 80), sandbank picnic for two (US$150 – 300), jet ski or parasailing, spa, drinks outside your meal plan and tips. Anything bought at a resort attracts the service charge and TGST, so a US$100 spa becomes about US$128.
Flights from IGI to Malé (as of November 2026)
| Option | Typical timing | Time | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Air India non-stop, Delhi – Malé | Leaves IGI around 8 am, lands about noon Maldives time | About 4 – 4¼ hours | Most trips; reaches a speedboat resort for a late lunch |
| IndiGo non-stop | Has operated in some seasons, a few days a week | About 4 hours | When it runs on your dates; we check |
| One stop via Mumbai, Bengaluru or Kochi | Early flight out of Delhi, afternoon leg to Malé | 7 – 10 hours | When the non-stop is full or costly; Kochi allows a Kerala add-on |
| Via Colombo on SriLankan | Several combinations | 7 – 12 hours | Combining Sri Lanka and the Maldives |
Airlines change days and times each season, so treat these as "about" and expect us to confirm the operating flight on your dates. The Maldives is 30 minutes behind India: a flight that leaves Delhi at 8 am and takes four hours lands at about 11.30 – noon local time.
Getting to IGI and back
- International flights on Air India use Terminal 3. For an 8 am departure, be at the airport by about 5 am; at that hour a cab is the dependable choice, and families from Noida or Ghaziabad should leave around 3.45 – 4 am.
- The return non-stop usually leaves Malé in the early afternoon and reaches Delhi in the evening. A speedboat resort fits easily; at a seaplane resort you take a morning seaplane and wait at the airport lounge.
- Indian passports need six months' validity. Delhi passport renewals at the Regional Passport Office can take weeks in the wedding season, so check before booking.
Fog at IGI and the seaplane rule
Seaplanes in the Maldives fly only in daylight, roughly until 3.30 – 4 pm. From mid-December to the end of January, dense fog often delays morning departures from Delhi by two to four hours. A fog delay on a noon arrival can mean missing the last seaplane and paying for an unplanned night in Hulhumalé. In those weeks we therefore suggest either a speedboat resort in North or South Malé Atoll, where boats run into the night, or a seaplane resort with a pre-booked first night near the airport. Outside the fog weeks a seaplane resort works well from the Delhi non-stop.
Three Maldives itineraries from Delhi
4 nights / 5 days – wedding-season honeymoon (speedboat resort)
- Day 1: Morning non-stop from T3. Speedboat of 30 – 50 minutes to a 4-star or 5-star resort in South Malé Atoll; late lunch and a sunset walk.
- Day 2: Beach villa. House-reef snorkelling, couple spa, dinner on the sand.
- Day 3: Move to the water villa. Dolphin cruise at sunset.
- Day 4: Floating breakfast, sandbank picnic, a photographer at golden hour.
- Day 5: Speedboat to Malé, afternoon flight to Delhi.
Carry the marriage certificate: resorts usually offer honeymoon benefits only within six to twelve months of the wedding date. Delhi couples marrying in late November often travel in the first week of December, before Christmas rates start.
5 nights / 6 days – January winter break for a family
- Day 1: Delhi to Malé; with fog likely, a speedboat resort with a kids' club and a shallow lagoon, family villa or two connecting beach villas.
- Days 2 – 3: Lagoon swimming, kayaks and paddle-boards (usually free), a glass-bottom boat ride, kids' club in the afternoons.
- Day 4: Half-day snorkelling trip to a turtle reef; evening cinema on the beach where offered.
- Day 5: Local-island visit to see Maldivian village life, or simply a pool day.
- Day 6: Fly back to Delhi.
4 nights / 5 days – Holi week for friends on a budget
- Day 1: Land at noon, shared speedboat to Maafushi or Thulusdhoo; guesthouse with breakfast.
- Day 2: Sandbank and snorkelling trip with nurse sharks and rays.
- Day 3: Resort day pass with lunch – the villa photographs without the villa price.
- Day 4: One night at a resort near Malé so the group can have a drink, since local islands are dry.
- Day 5: Resort boat to the airport and home.
Our Maldives budget guide breaks down guesthouse costs line by line. Every trip is private and customised; cousins or friends from Delhi travel as a private group on their own dates.
Maldives, Andaman, Bali or Thailand: the Delhi comparison
Delhi couples often shortlist four sea holidays. The flight from IGI and the paperwork decide more than the brochures do.
| From Delhi | Non-stop time | Passport and visa | Who picks it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maldives | About 4 hours | Passport; free visa on arrival | Couples who want a villa, clear water and no sightseeing schedule |
| Andaman | About 3½ – 3¾ hours | No passport needed | Families with seniors, history plus beaches, lower budgets |
| Bali | About 7 – 7½ hours | Passport; visa on arrival with a fee | Couples who want culture, cafés and villas with pools |
| Thailand | About 4 – 4½ hours to Bangkok or Phuket | Passport; entry rules change, check | Friends and families who want nightlife, shopping and beaches together |
Read more on Andaman from Delhi, Bali from Delhi and Thailand from Delhi. The Maldives is the most expensive of the four per night, and the least work: once you reach the resort, there is nothing to organise.
Entry rules, taxes and customs for Indians (as of November 2026)
- Visa: Indian passport holders get a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival. Immigration can ask for a passport valid for six months, a confirmed booking for the whole stay, a return ticket and proof of funds.
- IMUGA traveller declaration: one online form per traveller, infants included, within 96 hours before arrival (the separate departure form was dropped in 2024). It is free; ignore websites that charge for it. We send the link and check it with you.
- Green tax: US$12 per person per night at resorts and US$6 at small guesthouses on inhabited islands, in force since January 2025.
- TGST: 17% since 1 July 2025 on rooms, meals and resort purchases, usually with a 10% service charge as well.
- Departure fee: US$50 per person in economy (more in business), collected in the air ticket.
- Customs: you may not bring in alcohol, pork products or religious material for distribution. Duty-free bottles bought at IGI are held at Malé airport and returned only when you fly out, so do not buy them on the way.
Rules change; we check them again in the week you travel. Approval at immigration is the Maldives authorities' decision.
Long weekends and school breaks from Delhi (2026–27)
| Occasion | Date | Maldives fit |
|---|---|---|
| Guru Nanak Jayanti | Tuesday 24 November 2026 | Monday off for four days at pre-peak rates; best value of the season |
| Christmas | Friday 25 December 2026 | Most resorts apply minimum stays and gala-dinner supplements from about 20 December; fog risk |
| Delhi government-school winter break | 1 – 15 January 2027 | Travel after 5 January, when New Year rates fall |
| Republic Day | Tuesday 26 January 2027 | Monday off; dry season, calm water |
| Holi and Good Friday | Monday 22 and Friday 26 March 2027 | Three days of leave give nine days; quieter than February |
| Summer vacation | Usually mid-May to end-June | Monsoon season: showers in bursts, 30–40% lower resort rates |
The summer argument: when Delhi is at 44 – 46°C in late May, a Maldives lagoon at 29°C with a sea breeze looks very different. The south-west monsoon brings rain and wind, and seaplane schedules can slip, but most days still have long sunny spells. For a June family holiday on a budget we suggest a speedboat resort, a full-board plan and one spare day before the flight home. Private schools in Gurugram and Noida set their own winter-break dates; send us the circular.
Maldives month by month for Delhi travellers
| Month | Maldives weather | Delhi angle | Prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| November | Dry season returning | Smog at home, wedding season begins | Medium-high |
| December | Dry, calm | Fog delays from mid-month; Christmas peak | Highest after 20 December |
| January | Dry, best visibility | Winter break; fog continues | High, easing after the first week |
| February | Driest month | Peak honeymoon month for Delhi weddings | High; Valentine's week fills |
| March – April | Hot, calm lagoons | Holi week, exams for families | Medium-high, Easter higher |
| May – June | Monsoon begins; short heavy showers | Delhi heatwave and summer vacation | Low |
| July – September | Mixed; manta season in Baa Atoll | Monsoon in Delhi too; value honeymoons | Lowest |
| October | Transitional, many sunny days | Dussehra and Diwali breaks | Medium, high in Diwali week |
North Indian food, drinks and packing from Delhi
- Resort buffets: most 4-star and 5-star resorts near Malé keep an Indian corner every night – dal, a paneer dish, rice, rotis – because Indians are among the largest visitor groups. Ask for dal makhani or rajma in the morning and many kitchens will make it for dinner.
- Pure-veg and Jain: possible at larger resorts with notice; we confirm it in writing before you pay. Small boutique resorts with set menus are often fish-heavy, and we avoid them for strict vegetarians.
- Drinks: alcohol is served only on resort islands. For couples who want a drink with dinner, an all-inclusive plan with a drinks package is usually cheaper than paying by the glass at US$12 – 20 plus taxes. Local islands, Malé and Hulhumalé are dry.
- Money: resorts bill in US dollars and accept cards. Carry about US$100 – 200 per couple in small notes for tips and local islands; UPI does not work.
- Packing: a light jacket for the 4 am cab to IGI in winter goes into the hand bag; you land in cotton. Pack reef-safe sunscreen, a rash vest, water shoes, two swimsuits and motion-sickness tablets for the speedboat.
- Seaplane baggage: about 20 kg checked plus 5 kg hand baggage per person is typical; excess is charged by the kilo. Wedding-season suitcases full of outfits should be trimmed.

How much does a Maldives tour package from Delhi cost?
Our Maldives packages currently start at ₹18,000 per person for 2 nights. Most of our Maldives packages fall between ₹34,999 and ₹46,500 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from Delhi are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
Is there a direct flight from Delhi to the Maldives?
Yes. As of November 2026 Air India flies non-stop from IGI Terminal 3 to Malé, leaving around 8 am and taking about four hours. IndiGo has also flown the route non-stop in some seasons. Otherwise you connect via Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kochi or Colombo, which takes seven to twelve hours in total.
How much is a return flight from Delhi to Malé?
A return economy ticket on the non-stop usually costs about ₹22,000 to ₹38,000 per person when booked six to eight weeks ahead, as of November 2026. Christmas, New Year and early January push it to roughly ₹40,000 to ₹55,000. The US$50 Maldives departure fee is already inside the ticket price.
Can we reach a seaplane resort on the day we fly from Delhi?
Usually yes, because the Delhi non-stop lands around noon and seaplanes fly until about 3.30 to 4 pm. From mid-December to January, fog often delays morning departures from IGI, so in those weeks we suggest a speedboat resort or a pre-booked first night near Malé airport.
How many nights in the Maldives are right from Delhi?
Four nights is the best balance: two in a beach villa and two in a water villa, with time for a sandbank or dolphin trip. Three nights works on a long weekend at a speedboat resort. Choose five nights for seaplane resorts or families, since transfers take part of the first and last day.
Do Delhi residents need a visa for the Maldives?
No advance visa is needed. Indian passport holders get a free 30-day visa on arrival with a passport valid for six months, a confirmed booking, a return ticket and proof of funds. Each traveller must also submit the free IMUGA declaration online within 96 hours before arrival; no departure form is needed any more.
Can we carry duty-free liquor from Delhi airport to the Maldives?
No. Alcohol cannot be brought into the Maldives; bottles are held at Malé airport and returned when you leave. Drinks are available only on resort islands, so couples who want them should consider an all-inclusive plan with a drinks package rather than paying by the glass plus taxes.
Is the Maldives good in the Delhi summer vacation?
It can be, if you accept monsoon weather. From late May the Maldives gets short heavy showers and some wind, but long sunny spells too, and resort rates fall by 30 to 40 percent. Choose a speedboat resort and a full-board plan, and keep a spare day before the flight home.
Is North Indian vegetarian food available at Maldives resorts?
Yes at most larger resorts, which keep an Indian section at every buffet and often have Indian chefs. Dal, paneer, rice and rotis are standard, and many kitchens cook a requested dish with a day's notice. Jain meals are possible with advance notice; we confirm them in writing with the resort.
Maldives or Andaman from Delhi – which is better for a honeymoon?
Both are about four hours from IGI. The Maldives gives a private villa, all meals on the island and the clearest water, at a higher price. The Andamans need no passport, cost less and add history and island hopping. Couples who want complete rest usually choose the Maldives.
When should Delhi couples book a Maldives honeymoon?
As soon as the wedding date is fixed. For December to February, the Delhi wedding season, water villas at popular resorts sell out eight to ten weeks ahead. For March to April, six weeks is usually enough; in the monsoon months, three to four weeks often works.
Which terminal at Delhi airport do Maldives flights use?
Air India's international flights, including the Malé non-stop, use Terminal 3 at IGI. One-stop itineraries can start from Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 depending on the airline, so check the ticket. For an 8 am departure, reach the airport by about 5 am.
