Maldives Tour Packages from Bangalore
The flight from Kempegowda airport is shorter than the drive to it on a bad evening – Maldives weekends, honeymoons and dive trips for Bengaluru, planned around the midday non-stop.
Bangalore is one of the closest big Indian cities to the Maldives. The non-stop from Kempegowda International Airport takes about two hours, less time than many people spend getting from Electronic City or Whitefield to the airport on a Friday. That short hop changes how Bengaluru travellers use the Maldives: not only as a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon, but as a three-night weekend with one day of leave, an anniversary break, or a dive trip for people who learnt to dive at Netrani Island off the Karnataka coast and want warmer, clearer water.
This page is for travellers from Bengaluru and nearby Mysuru, Tumakuru and Hosur. It covers what a Maldives package costs per person, the KIA non-stop and its timing as of November 2026, how the midday landing affects speedboat and seaplane resorts, three itineraries (a long weekend, a honeymoon and a dive trip), entry rules and taxes, Karnataka school holidays and 2026–27 long weekends, a month-by-month table, and notes on South Indian vegetarian and Jain food at resorts. Every trip is planned by our team in Ahmedabad and booked on WhatsApp or phone; we have no Bengaluru office, and all tickets and vouchers come to you as PDFs.

Airfare from Bengaluru: as of November 2026, a return economy ticket on the non-stop usually costs about ₹15,000 – 28,000 per person when booked six to eight weeks ahead – among the cheapest fares to Malé from any Indian metro. Christmas–New Year and Easter push it to roughly ₹32,000 – 45,000. The US$50 Maldives departure fee for economy passengers is part of the ticket.
Paid on the spot: dolphin cruise (about US$60 – 90 a head), snorkelling excursions (US$50 – 80), sandbank picnic for two (US$150 – 300), spa treatments and drinks beyond the meal plan. Resort extras carry the service charge and TGST, roughly 28% on top. Dollar figures here use about ₹95 to the US dollar.
Flying from Kempegowda airport to Malé (as of November 2026)
| Option | Typical timing | Time | Comment |
|---|---|---|---|
| IndiGo non-stop, BLR – MLE | Leaves KIA around midday, lands early afternoon Maldives time | About 1¾ – 2 hours | The default choice; one flight a day |
| One stop via Kochi, Chennai or Mumbai | Morning or evening combinations | 5 – 9 hours | When the non-stop is full, or to add Kerala on the way |
| Via Colombo on SriLankan | Several daily links | 5 – 10 hours | For a Sri Lanka and Maldives combination |
These are the schedules airlines were selling in early November 2026. Timings shift with each season, so read them as "about"; we confirm the operating flight on your dates before we quote.
The real journey is the road to KIA
- International departures at Kempegowda use Terminal 2 as of late 2026; your ticket confirms it. Reach the terminal about three hours before an international flight.
- From Electronic City, Sarjapur Road or Whitefield, allow 1½ – 2½ hours by cab in daytime traffic; from Hebbal or Yelahanka about 45 minutes. The airport bus (Vayu Vajra) is cheaper but slower with luggage.
- The midday departure is kind to Bengaluru families: no 3 am alarm, and children can sleep normally the night before.
- The return flight usually leaves Malé in the afternoon and lands at KIA by evening. On a three-night weekend you leave the resort after a late breakfast and can be home for dinner if traffic allows.
Speedboat or seaplane after a midday landing
Seaplanes fly only in daylight, roughly until 3.30 – 4 pm. The Bengaluru non-stop lands in the early afternoon, and after immigration and the seaplane check-in a same-day seaplane is possible on some days but never guaranteed. So for seaplane resorts we usually plan either a first night in Hulhumalé, close to the airport, or a resort reached by domestic flight and boat, which can operate into the evening. Speedboat resorts in North and South Malé Atolls run late and are the simplest choice for a short trip.
Three Maldives itineraries from Bangalore
3 nights / 4 days – Thursday-to-Sunday weekend
- Thursday: Morning at home, cab to KIA, midday non-stop. Speedboat of 20 – 45 minutes to a North Malé Atoll resort; sunset on the beach.
- Friday: House-reef snorkelling with the resort's free gear, kayak or paddle-board, couples' massage.
- Saturday: Dolphin cruise or sandbank trip; dinner on the beach.
- Sunday: Late breakfast, speedboat to the airport, afternoon flight. Back in Bengaluru by evening, at work on Monday.
5 nights / 6 days – honeymoon with a seaplane resort
- Day 1: Land in the afternoon; night in a Hulhumalé hotel with a beach walk and an early dinner.
- Day 2: Morning seaplane to an Ari or Baa Atoll resort; beach villa.
- Day 3: Snorkelling safari with turtles and reef sharks; spa in the afternoon.
- Days 4 – 5: Water villa. Floating breakfast, sunset cruise, a photographer at golden hour.
- Day 6: Morning seaplane to Malé and the flight home.
Resorts usually give honeymoon benefits only within six to twelve months of the wedding, against the marriage certificate.
5 nights / 6 days – dive trip for certified divers
- Day 1: Fly to Malé; speedboat or domestic flight to a resort with a dive centre in South Malé or Ari Atoll.
- Days 2 – 4: Two boat dives a day on channels and reefs: mantas at cleaning stations, grey reef sharks, turtles. Non-divers snorkel or use the spa.
- Day 5: A last morning dive, then a free afternoon.
- Day 6: No diving – you should not fly for about 18 – 24 hours after a dive. Late breakfast and the flight home.
Every itinerary is private and customised. Friends from the same office or apartment complex travel as a private group on their own dates, and we book their villas and transfers together.
For Bengaluru divers and snorkellers
Bangalore has an active diving community. Many people take their first open-water course in a city pool and finish it at Netrani Island near Murudeshwar, where visibility depends on the week. The Maldives is the obvious next step, two hours away.
- Visibility: often 20 – 30 metres from January to April on the eastern side of the atolls; in the south-west monsoon months the west side gets the plankton and the mantas, with lower visibility.
- Certification: carry your card and logbook. Channel dives with current usually need Advanced Open Water or about 20 logged dives; dive centres decide on the day.
- Beginners: a discover-scuba session in the lagoon needs no certificate, and children above about ten can do a short try dive at many resorts.
- Medical forms: centres ask about asthma, heart and ear problems and recent surgery. A note from your Bengaluru doctor avoids trouble at the dive desk.
- Snorkellers: choose a resort with a good house reef so you can snorkel straight from the beach without paying for boat trips.
- Reef rules: no gloves, no touching or standing on coral, no shells taken home; removing coral is an offence in the Maldives too.
Entry rules and taxes for Indian passports (as of November 2026)
- Free visa on arrival: Indians get a 30-day tourist visa at Malé. Carry a passport valid for six months, a confirmed booking for every night, a return ticket and a card or cash to show funds if asked.
- IMUGA declaration: one free online form per traveller, including infants, within 96 hours before arrival (the departure form was dropped in 2024). We send the link and check the forms with you.
- Green tax: US$12 per person per night at resorts, US$6 at guesthouses of 50 rooms or fewer on inhabited islands.
- TGST and service charge: 17% TGST since 1 July 2025, plus a 10% service charge at most resorts.
- Customs: no alcohol, pork products or religious material for distribution. Duty-free bought at KIA is held at Malé airport until you leave.
Entry is decided by Maldives immigration; we recheck the rules in the week of travel.
Karnataka school holidays and Bengaluru long weekends (2026–27)
| Occasion | Date | Maldives fit |
|---|---|---|
| Guru Nanak Jayanti | Tuesday 24 November 2026 (check your office list) | Early dry season, before December rates |
| Christmas | Friday 25 December 2026 | A Thursday-to-Sunday trip; minimum stays and gala-dinner charges from about 20 December |
| Sankranti | Mid-January 2027 | Calm sea, best visibility; rates easing after New Year |
| Republic Day | Tuesday 26 January 2027 | Take Monday off for a four-day break |
| Good Friday | Friday 26 March 2027 | Three-night weekend; Easter week is busy at resorts |
| Ugadi and Ambedkar Jayanti | Wednesday 7 April and Wednesday 14 April 2027 | Midweek holidays; two days of leave give a short break in hot, calm weather |
| Summer vacation | Karnataka state-board schools usually close from about mid-April to late May | April is excellent; from mid-May expect monsoon showers and lower rates |
Karnataka's long school break starts earlier than in North India, so Bengaluru families get late April in the Maldives' dry season, when lagoons are flat and warm – a better match than for most cities. CBSE, ICSE and international schools in Bengaluru publish their own calendars; send us yours. IT companies follow their own holiday lists, which often differ from the state list.

South Indian vegetarian, Jain food and practical tips
- Breakfast: many resorts employ Sri Lankan and Indian cooks, and dosa, idli or uttapam often appear at breakfast. Rice, sambar-style dal and vegetable curries are easy at dinner. Filter coffee is rarer; carry a few sachets.
- Pure-veg and Jain: larger resorts handle both with notice; we confirm them in writing before payment. Maldivian cooking uses fish widely, so ask for no fish stock or tuna flakes ("mas") in curries.
- Local islands: cafés on Maafushi serve rice, rotis and vegetable curries; smaller islands have little choice, so book half board there.
- Drinks: served only on resorts; Malé, Hulhumalé and local islands are dry.
- Money: resorts bill in US dollars and accept cards; UPI does not work. Carry about US$100 – 200 per couple in small notes.
- Packing: reef-safe sunscreen, a rash vest, water shoes, two swimsuits, a cap and motion-sickness tablets for the speedboat. Seaplanes allow about 20 kg checked plus 5 kg hand baggage.
- Time: Maldives is 30 minutes behind India; set your watch when you land.

How much does a Maldives tour package from Bangalore cost?
Our Maldives packages currently start at ₹18,000 per person for 2 nights. Most of our Maldives packages fall between ₹34,999 and ₹46,500 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from Bangalore are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
Is there a direct flight from Bangalore to the Maldives?
Yes. As of November 2026 IndiGo flies non-stop from Kempegowda International Airport to Malé once a day, leaving around midday and taking about 1¾ to 2 hours. Other airlines connect through Kochi, Chennai, Mumbai or Colombo. Schedules change by season, so we confirm the flight on your dates.
How much is a Bangalore to Malé return flight?
As of November 2026, a return economy ticket on the non-stop usually costs about ₹15,000 to ₹28,000 per person when booked six to eight weeks ahead. Christmas, New Year and Easter raise it to roughly ₹32,000 to ₹45,000. The US$50 Maldives departure fee is included in the ticket.
Is a three-night Maldives trip from Bangalore worth it?
Yes, more than from most cities, because the flight is only about two hours. Choose a speedboat resort in the Malé atolls so the transfer is under an hour, and a Thursday-to-Sunday plan needs just one day of leave. Seaplane resorts are better kept for four nights or more.
Can we take a seaplane on the day we land from Bangalore?
Sometimes, but we do not plan on it. The non-stop lands in the early afternoon, and seaplanes stop flying around 3.30 to 4 pm. For a seaplane resort we usually book a first night in Hulhumalé, or choose a resort reached by domestic flight and boat, which operates later.
Which terminal at Bengaluru airport do Maldives flights leave from?
International flights at Kempegowda use Terminal 2 as of late 2026, but always check your ticket. Reach the airport about three hours before departure, and from Electronic City, Sarjapur Road or Whitefield allow up to two and a half hours by road in daytime traffic.
Do Indians from Bangalore need a visa for the Maldives?
No advance visa is needed. Indian passport holders receive a free 30-day visa on arrival with a passport valid for six months, a confirmed booking, a return ticket and proof of funds. Each traveller fills the free IMUGA declaration online within 96 hours before arrival; no departure form is needed any more.
Is the Maldives good for divers from Bangalore?
Very. Divers who trained in Bengaluru pools and at Netrani find the Maldives a big step up: warm water, mantas, sharks and turtles, and visibility often 20 to 30 metres from January to April. Carry your card and logbook; channel dives may need Advanced Open Water or about 20 logged dives.
Is South Indian vegetarian food available at Maldives resorts?
At most larger resorts, yes. Dosa, idli or uttapam often appear at breakfast because many cooks are Sri Lankan or Indian, and rice, dal and vegetable curries are easy at dinner. Ask for no fish stock in curries. Jain meals are possible with notice, which we confirm in writing.
When is the best time to visit the Maldives from Bangalore with children?
April suits Bengaluru families well, because Karnataka state-board schools usually close from mid-April and the Maldives is still dry, hot and calm then. December and January are also excellent but costlier. From mid-May the monsoon brings showers and lower prices, fine for flexible families.
Maldives or Andaman from Bangalore – which should we choose?
Both are short flights from KIA. The Maldives gives a private resort island, all meals in one place and the best water, at a higher price, and needs a passport. The Andamans need no passport, cost less and add island hopping and history, but involve ferries and more moving around.
Can we combine Kerala or Sri Lanka with the Maldives from Bangalore?
Yes. Kochi has short flights to Malé, so a few days in Munnar or the backwaters before the Maldives works well. Colombo is also an easy link on SriLankan for a Sri Lanka and Maldives trip. We plan the routing so the Malé landing time suits your resort transfer.
