Kashmir Tour Packages from Bangalore
Kashmir is the farthest hill trip you can take from Bengaluru without a passport. These private plans make the long KIA journey worth it, with a Delhi break or a road extension into Ladakh.
From Bengaluru, Kashmir is about as far as Indian travel goes: roughly 2,300 km by air, two climate zones and a completely different cuisine. That distance is the first thing to plan around. Non-stop flights between Kempegowda International and Srinagar run only on some days and some seasons, so most people from Bangalore change planes at Delhi and arrive in the valley six to eight hours after leaving home. Plan for that, and the payoff is real: snow in Gulmarg for children who have only known 20°C winters, houseboats instead of hotel lobbies and cool May afternoons while Bengaluru simmers.
This page is for families and couples from Bangalore, Whitefield, Electronic City and nearby cities like Mysuru and Hosur. It covers realistic costs, the flight routes and why a one-night Delhi stopover sometimes helps, three itineraries including a Kashmir and Ladakh road trip, how Karnataka's April school holidays and Dasara break fit the Kashmir seasons, a month-by-month table, and food advice for South Indian vegetarians. Vibrant Holidays is based in Ahmedabad and plans Bangalore trips on WhatsApp and phone; we have no Bengaluru office. Each trip is private, with your own car and driver.

Kashmir package prices for Bangalore travellers (2026)
Right now 24 Kashmir packages are live on our site, starting at ₹19,500 per person. The ranges below are per person for two sharing, and include stays with breakfast and dinner, a houseboat night, private car and driver, a shikara ride and taxes. Flights from Bengaluru are priced separately.
| Duration and route | Standard | Deluxe | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6 nights – Srinagar, Gulmarg night, Pahalgam two nights | ₹19,000 – 25,000 | ₹27,000 – 35,500 | ₹43,500 – 62,000 |
| 7 nights – adds Sonamarg and Doodhpathri | ₹22,000 – 28,500 | ₹30,500 – 40,000 | ₹48,500 – 69,000 |
| 8 nights – one night in Delhi each way plus 6 in Kashmir | ₹24,500 – 32,000 | ₹34,000 – 45,500 | ₹55,000 – 80,000 |
| 10 nights – Kashmir, Kargil and Leh by road (June to September) | ₹36,000 – 47,000 | ₹49,000 – 64,000 | ₹75,000 – 1,05,000 |
Flights from Bangalore: a return BLR–Srinagar ticket on a one-stop route generally costs ₹20,000 to ₹34,000 per person when booked four to six weeks ahead. During April–May, when Karnataka schools close, and over Christmas, fares above ₹38,000 are common. A non-stop, on the days it operates, often costs more than a connection but saves three to four hours. For the Ladakh plan, you fly into Srinagar and home from Leh, and we price that open-jaw ticket for you.
Ground costs not in the package unless you ask: Gulmarg cable car tickets, union-taxi fares in Pahalgam, ponies at Sonamarg, winter clothing hire, lunches and tips. Each one is listed on the quote with an approximate rate.
Getting from Bengaluru to Kashmir
Flights from Kempegowda International (BLR)
- Non-stop: schedule data in October 2026 shows non-stop BLR–Srinagar services by Air India Express and IndiGo on limited days, with a flying time of about 3½ hours. They are not daily and have changed season to season, so we check your exact dates first.
- One-stop: the dependable option, with many connections a day via Delhi and some via Amritsar, Chandigarh, Hyderabad or Pune. Door-to-door, expect six to eight hours plus the KIA drive.
- The KIA drive: the airport is far north of the city. From Electronic City or Sarjapur Road, allow two hours at peak; from Hebbal, about 45 minutes. A 6 am departure means leaving home by 3:30 or 4 am.
- Jammu: a BLR–Jammu non-stop of about 3½ hours has also appeared in schedules on some days. It helps when Vaishno Devi comes first, followed by the Vande Bharat to Srinagar.
- Return flights: Srinagar has two security screenings, so we drop you about three hours before departure. Evening arrivals into BLR are typical.
Why a Delhi stopover can help
A connection of two or three hours at Delhi works most of the year. In late December and January, though, fog in the north can delay morning flights, and a missed connection costs a full day. For winter trips and for families with seniors, we often suggest one night in Delhi each way: fly Bangalore to Delhi in the evening, rest at an airport hotel, and take the first flight to Srinagar the next morning. It turns a tiring day into two easy halves, and you can add a half-day in Delhi or a darshan at the Golden Temple in Amritsar on the way back.
Rail is not practical from Bangalore
As of October 2026 there is no regular through train from Bengaluru to Jammu or Katra. You would need about 33 to 40 hours to Delhi and a further day to the valley, which is why almost every Bangalore traveller flies. The new rail line is still useful inside the region: the Vande Bharat links Jammu, Katra and Srinagar six days a week, and the Katra–Srinagar run takes about three hours.
Three Kashmir plans that make the long flight from Bangalore worthwhile
7 nights / 8 days – the full valley, at a pace children can handle
- Day 1: Early flight from Bangalore via Delhi; arrive Srinagar early afternoon. Houseboat check-in, kahwa on the deck, short shikara.
- Day 2: A slow morning to recover from the early start; Mughal gardens and Pari Mahal in the afternoon.
- Day 3: Sonamarg by road along the Sindh; ponies to Thajiwas glacier for those who want it.
- Day 4: Drive to Gulmarg; cable car and snow play; overnight in Gulmarg.
- Day 5: Cross the valley to Pahalgam via Pampore saffron fields.
- Day 6: Aru Valley, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari by union taxi.
- Day 7: Back to Srinagar via Doodhpathri if time allows; old-city walk and handicraft shopping.
- Day 8: Fly home to Bangalore with a connection.
10 nights / 11 days – Kashmir to Ladakh by road (June to September)
- Days 1–5: Srinagar houseboat, Gulmarg and Pahalgam as above.
- Day 6: Sonamarg night to start acclimatising.
- Day 7: Over the Zojila pass to Drass and Kargil.
- Day 8: Kargil to Leh via Lamayuru and the Magnetic Hill stretch.
- Days 9–10: Rest in Leh, then Nubra or Pangong depending on fitness and permits.
- Day 11: Fly Leh to Bangalore with one change. Climbing gradually by road from Srinagar is easier on the body than flying straight into Leh.
6 nights / 7 days – honeymoon with a Delhi night on the way in
- Day 1: Evening flight from Bangalore to Delhi; night at an airport hotel.
- Day 2: Morning flight to Srinagar; decorated deluxe houseboat with dinner on board.
- Day 3: Gulmarg; stay at a hotel facing the meadow.
- Day 4: Pahalgam; riverside cottage.
- Day 5: Betaab Valley and a quiet afternoon by the Lidder.
- Day 6: Return to Srinagar; sunset shikara and a Wazwan or veg Kashmiri dinner.
- Day 7: Fly to Bangalore with a connection.
Every itinerary is private: your own car and driver, your own dates, and hotels you approve. Friends from the same office or extended families travel as a private group on their own dates, in a Tempo Traveller.

Karnataka holidays and the Kashmir calendar
Bangalore has one advantage over North Indian cities: Karnataka state-board schools close earlier, usually around the second week of April, with classes resuming in late May or early June. That puts Bengaluru families in Kashmir before the national rush.
- Mid to late April: the valley is green, almond and apple blossom is out, Gulmarg still has snow at altitude, and fares and hotels are below May levels. It is often the best time for a Bangalore family to go.
- May: still pleasant, but this is when Delhi, Mumbai and Gujarat holidays bring the largest crowds. Book flights and the Gulmarg cable car well ahead.
- Dasara break (late September to mid-October): Karnataka schools usually close for about two weeks around Dasara. Kashmir is at its clearest then, with chinar trees turning colour from mid-October and comfortable 15–22°C days.
- Christmas week: popular with IT families for snow; Gulmarg usually has a good cover by late December. Allow for winter fog at the Delhi connection.
- Long weekends: a three-day weekend is too short for Kashmir from Bangalore. Add at least three days of leave to make the flight time worthwhile.
- Cold adjustment: Bengaluru winters rarely drop below 14°C, while Srinagar nights in January fall well below zero. Pack properly or hire gear on arrival.

Food and travel tips for South Indian families
South Indian vegetarian food in Kashmir
This is the question Bangalore families ask most, and the honest answer is that South Indian food is scarce. Srinagar has a handful of places that serve dosa and idli, mostly near Dal Gate and the Boulevard, but quality varies and there is almost nothing in Gulmarg or Pahalgam. The good news is that Kashmiri cooking is rice-based, so rice and dal are on every hotel menu, and most kitchens will make curd rice, plain rasam or a simple sambar if we brief them in advance. Carry MTR or similar ready-to-eat packs, puliyogare mix, chutney pudi, pickles and a pack of instant upma for breakfasts on long drive days. Jain and no onion–garlic food is arranged with notice and written into your vouchers. For something local and vegetarian, try haak, dum aloo, nadru and rajma with Kashmiri rice, and the sweet kahwa tea.
Before you leave Bangalore
- Clothing: most Bengaluru wardrobes have nothing warm enough. For summer, carry a fleece and a windproof jacket; for November to March, thermals, a down jacket, gloves, woollen socks and waterproof shoes. Coats and boots can be hired at Gulmarg.
- Mobile phones: prepaid SIMs from Karnataka do not work in Jammu and Kashmir; postpaid numbers do. Carry at least one postpaid phone.
- Early starts: after a 4 am wake-up for KIA, keep day one light, with a houseboat and a shikara rather than sightseeing.
- Altitude: Gulmarg's upper station is close to 4,000 m and Leh is about 3,500 m. Seniors and anyone with heart or lung conditions should consult a doctor first.
- Cash and UPI: UPI works in Srinagar; ponies and union taxis want cash.
- Updates on the ground: our team checks weather, road and security advisories every day of your trip and reroutes if needed; 24x7 support stays on.

How much does a Kashmir tour package from Bangalore cost?
Our Kashmir packages currently start at ₹19,500 per person for 4 nights. Most of our Kashmir packages fall between ₹28,000 and ₹49,900 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from {$from} are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
Is there a direct flight from Bangalore to Srinagar?
On some days. As of October 2026, Air India Express and IndiGo have operated non-stops of about 3½ hours, but not daily and not every season. On other days you connect via Delhi or another city and the trip takes six to eight hours. We check what runs on your dates.
What is the airfare from Bangalore to Srinagar?
A return ticket on a one-stop route usually costs ₹20,000 to ₹34,000 per person when booked four to six weeks out. In April–May and over Christmas it can go higher than ₹38,000. Fares change daily, so we quote them separately from the land package.
How many days are enough for Kashmir from Bangalore?
Plan at least six nights in Kashmir. The first and last days are mostly travel because of the distance and the connection, so a shorter trip feels rushed. Seven nights adds Sonamarg and Doodhpathri, and ten nights lets you continue by road to Ladakh in summer.
Should we stop in Delhi on the way to Kashmir?
It helps in winter and for seniors. In late December and January, northern fog can delay connections. A night at a Delhi airport hotel on the way in, then the first flight to Srinagar, removes that risk and splits a long day in two.
Can we combine Kashmir and Ladakh from Bangalore?
Yes, between June and September when the Zojila pass is open. Drive from Srinagar via Sonamarg, Kargil and Lamayuru to Leh over two days, then fly home from Leh. Climbing by road is easier on the body than flying straight into Leh. Plan ten or eleven nights.
Is there a train from Bangalore to Kashmir?
Not a regular through train, as of October 2026. Reaching Jammu or Katra by rail means about 33 to 40 hours to Delhi and another day beyond. Almost everyone from Bangalore flies. Inside the region, the Vande Bharat connects Jammu, Katra and Srinagar six days a week.
Is April a good time for Kashmir from Bangalore?
Very good. Karnataka schools usually close by mid-April, before North Indian holidays fill the valley. You get fresh greenery, blossom in the orchards and snow at Gulmarg's upper station, with lower fares and hotel rates than in May.
Can we visit Kashmir in the Dasara holidays?
Yes. Late September and October bring clear skies, cool days of about 15 to 22°C and the start of autumn colours. Crowds are thinner than in summer. Nights get cold by mid-October, so pack a warm jacket.
Will we get South Indian food in Kashmir?
Only a little. A few Srinagar restaurants near Dal Gate serve dosa and idli, but there is very little in Gulmarg or Pahalgam. Rice and dal are everywhere, and hotels make curd rice or rasam if briefed in advance. Carry ready-to-eat packs and pickles from Bangalore.
Will a Karnataka prepaid SIM work in Kashmir?
No. Prepaid connections from Karnataka and other states do not work in Jammu and Kashmir. Postpaid numbers from all major operators work normally, so at least one person should carry one. A local prepaid SIM needs ID and can take time to activate.
Do you have an office in Bangalore?
No. Vibrant Holidays is based in Ahmedabad and plans Bangalore trips remotely. You talk to the same planner on WhatsApp or phone, get your itinerary, vouchers and invoice as PDFs, and have 24x7 support while travelling.
