Turkey has become the trip Ahmedabad families choose when they want the feel of Europe – old cities, mountains, cafés, a sea crossing between two continents – without a Schengen appointment and at a lower cost. Istanbul alone fills three days, Cappadocia's cave hotels and sunrise balloon flights are unlike anything else within reach of Gujarat, and the travertine pools of Pamukkale and the ruins of Ephesus add history for those with a week or more. Turkish food is generous with bread, yoghurt, lentils and vegetables, though being pure-veg or Jain here takes planning, which we explain plainly below.

This page is written for travellers starting from SVPI Airport. It covers realistic prices by trip length and hotel class (our Turkey packages start at ₹40,999 per person), the one-stop flight choices from Ahmedabad and when the Delhi non-stop is worth it, the two visa routes for Indians, three day-wise itineraries including one paced for parents and grandparents, a Cappadocia balloon guide, a month-by-month table with Diwali and May vacation advice, and what vegetarian and Jain travellers will actually find to eat. Every trip is private: your own transfers and guides, your own dates.

Turkey package prices from Ahmedabad (2026)

We have 7 Turkey packages on sale today, starting at ₹40,999 per person. To judge any quote, use the bands below. They are per person on twin sharing, excluding international flights from Ahmedabad and the visa, and include hotels with breakfast, private airport and intercity transfers, domestic flights inside Turkey where the route needs them, and guided sightseeing as per itinerary.

TripStandard (3-star / simple cave hotel)Deluxe (4-star / boutique cave hotel)Premium (5-star / luxury cave suite)
5 nights – Istanbul 3, Cappadocia 2₹42,000 – 55,000₹55,000 – 72,000₹85,000 – 1,30,000
6 nights – Istanbul 3, Cappadocia 2, Bursa or Princes' Islands day₹50,000 – 65,000₹65,000 – 85,000₹1,00,000 – 1,50,000
8 nights – Istanbul, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Kuşadası (Ephesus)₹65,000 – 85,000₹85,000 – 1,10,000₹1,30,000 – 1,90,000
10 nights – adds Antalya or Bodrum on the coast₹80,000 – 1,05,000₹1,05,000 – 1,35,000₹1,60,000 – 2,40,000

Usually extra on the ground: the Cappadocia hot-air balloon (often €150–300 per person depending on season and basket size), entry to Hagia Sophia's visitor gallery and Topkapı Palace (foreign visitors pay euro-priced tickets), the Bosphorus dinner cruise with show, Turkish bath (hammam) sessions, jeep or ATV tours in Cappadocia, lunches and dinners not in the plan, and tips for guides and drivers. Your quote lists each one.

Why the gaps between bands are large: in Cappadocia the difference between a plain cave room and a suite with a terrace facing the balloons is the biggest single cost driver. Istanbul hotels in Sultanahmet near the monuments cost more than equivalent rooms in Taksim or Şişli, and a 5-star on the Bosphorus is a different budget again. April, May, late September and October are high season; November and March are 15–25% cheaper.

Return flights from Ahmedabad: economy fares on one-stop routings usually fall between ₹40,000 and ₹65,000 per person return when booked six to ten weeks ahead. Budget carriers via Sharjah or Dubai sit at the low end; Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad and Turkish Airlines connections cost more. Diwali, Christmas and May vacation dates push fares higher. We hold flights where the fare allows until the visa is issued.

Flights from Ahmedabad to Istanbul

There is no non-stop flight from Ahmedabad to Istanbul as of October 2026. Every itinerary has one stop. The question is where you change planes and how long you wait.

RoutingAirlines (typical)Total journeyGood for
Via DubaiEmirates, flydubaiabout 10–13 hoursFamilies wanting a comfortable connection; a Dubai stopover can be added
Via SharjahAir Arabiaabout 10½–13 hoursBudget travellers; check baggage allowance carefully
Via Abu DhabiEtihadabout 10–12 hoursEarly-morning departure from Ahmedabad, often the fastest total time
Via DohaQatar Airwaysabout 11–14 hoursGood connections and generous baggage
Via DelhiIndiGo (Delhi–Istanbul non-stop on the A321XLR since April 2026); Turkish Airlines' own Delhi serviceabout 11–14 hours including the domestic legSingle ticket through Delhi; IndiGo's two-class aircraft on the long leg
Via MumbaiTurkish Airlines and partner routingsabout 11–14 hoursTravellers who prefer an Indian connection; schedules change by season
  • One ticket, always: booking Ahmedabad–Delhi and Delhi–Istanbul separately can look cheaper, but if the first flight is late, the second airline owes you nothing. We issue through-tickets so bags are checked to Istanbul.
  • Which Istanbul airport: most full-service and Indian flights use Istanbul Airport (IST); some budget connections land at Sabiha Gökçen (SAW) on the Asian side, 60–90 minutes from Sultanahmet. We plan transfers around the airport you land at.
  • Night departures: many Gulf connections leave SVPI late at night and reach Istanbul by mid-morning. We arrange early hotel check-in or plan an easy first day.
  • Open-jaw tickets: on 8–10 night trips we fly you into Istanbul and home from Izmir or Antalya via Istanbul, so you never retrace the route.

Turkey route schedules changed several times in 2025–26, so we check the current timetable at booking. For mosque visits, carry a scarf and cover shoulders and knees; for Istanbul's cobbled hills, pack good walking shoes.

Turkey visa for travellers from Ahmedabad

Indians need a visa for Turkey. Which of the two routes applies depends on what is already in your passport. Facts below are as of October 2026; rules change — we check before you book.

Turkish e-visaSticker visa
Who can use itIndians holding a valid US, UK, Schengen or Irish visa or residence permitEveryone else
HowOnline on the official Turkish e-visa portalApplication and biometrics at the Turkish visa application centre in Ahmedabad, decided by the Consulate General in Mumbai
Typical costabout ₹4,300 – 5,500about ₹12,000 – 16,000 including centre charges
TimeMinutes to a few daysUsually 2–3 weeks; allow 4 weeks in peak months
StayUp to 30 days, single entryAs granted, usually matching your trip

Documents for the sticker visa (per applicant)

  • Passport valid at least six months beyond the trip, with old passports; the application form and a recent photo.
  • Confirmed hotel bookings, return flight reservation and a day-wise itinerary.
  • Last three to six months' bank statements, salary slips and Form 16 for employees, or GST and business registration for self-employed applicants; ITRs help.
  • Leave letter from the employer; a covering letter stating the purpose and who pays.
  • Travel insurance for the full stay.
  • For children: birth certificate and parents' consent; for sponsored parents, proof of relationship.

The e-visa shortcut: if anyone in the family holds a valid US, UK or Schengen visa, the e-visa saves a centre visit and about ₹8,000 per person. The supporting visa must be valid on the day you land in Turkey; an expired one, even recently, does not count. Carry the passport containing it. We prepare and submit the application either way; approval is at the Turkish authority's discretion.

Combining Turkey with Europe? Getting your Schengen visa first makes Turkey an e-visa trip.

Three Turkey itineraries from Ahmedabad

6 nights / 7 days – Istanbul and Cappadocia for couples

  • Day 1: Overnight flight from Ahmedabad arrives Istanbul in the morning. Rest at the hotel; evening walk along Istiklal Avenue and up Galata Tower.
  • Day 2: Old city with a private guide: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome, Basilica Cistern, then the Grand Bazaar.
  • Day 3: Topkapı Palace in the morning; afternoon Bosphorus cruise by private or shared boat; Spice Bazaar for Turkish delight and dry fruits.
  • Day 4: Morning flight to Kayseri or Nevşehir (about 1¼ hours). Check in to a cave hotel; sunset at Uçhisar or Red Valley.
  • Day 5: Pre-dawn balloon flight (weather permitting). Göreme Open-Air Museum, Paşabağ fairy chimneys, Avanos pottery village.
  • Day 6: Kaymaklı or Derinkuyu underground city, Pigeon Valley; spare morning kept for a second balloon attempt if the first was cancelled. Fly back to Istanbul.
  • Day 7: Fly Istanbul–Ahmedabad (one-stop).

8 nights / 9 days – family Turkey with Pamukkale and Ephesus

  • Days 1–3: Istanbul as above, with Miniatürk or a Princes' Islands ferry ride for the children instead of a second palace.
  • Days 4–5: Fly to Cappadocia; balloon or a sunrise viewpoint for those who prefer the ground; horse-riding or a jeep tour through the valleys.
  • Day 6: Fly to Denizli or drive about 6–7 hours to Pamukkale; walk barefoot on the travertine terraces and swim in Cleopatra's Pool.
  • Day 7: Drive to Kuşadası (about 3 hours) via the ruins of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary.
  • Day 8: Beach day at Kuşadası or a Şirince village visit.
  • Day 9: Fly Izmir–Istanbul–Ahmedabad.

7 nights / 8 days – Turkey at a gentle pace for seniors

  • Day 1: Arrive Istanbul; wheelchair assistance at the airport if requested; early check-in at a hotel with a lift close to the monuments.
  • Day 2: Half-day old-city tour with a guide who walks slowly; return to the hotel to rest after lunch.
  • Day 3: Bosphorus cruise seated on the boat; afternoon free.
  • Day 4: Topkapı Palace (flat courtyards, some steps) or the Dolmabahçe Palace instead, which is easier on the legs.
  • Day 5: Fly to Cappadocia; stay in a hotel with ground-floor rooms rather than a hillside cave with steep stairs.
  • Day 6: Watch the balloons at sunrise from a viewpoint or the hotel terrace; short drive-and-view tour of the fairy chimneys and Avanos.
  • Day 7: Fly back to Istanbul; free evening near the hotel.
  • Day 8: Fly home to Ahmedabad.

For parents and grandparents we keep one domestic flight in place of long road transfers, never two hotel changes in two days, and a private vehicle for every transfer so that nobody carries bags up cobbled lanes.

Cappadocia balloon flights: what to know before you pay

  • Weather decides: flights are approved by the authorities each morning according to wind. Cancellations are more frequent from December to March; in spring and autumn most days fly. Two nights in Cappadocia give you a second chance.
  • Price varies with demand: a standard basket of 16–24 people typically costs €150–300 per person; smaller baskets and private flights cost much more. Prices rise on the day after a cancellation, when everyone rebooks.
  • Timing: pick-up from your hotel at about 4–5 am, a short breakfast, about one hour in the air, and a ceremonial drink on landing. You are back by 8–9 am.
  • Who should not fly: operators usually set a minimum age of about six to seven years and will refuse pregnant passengers. Travellers who cannot climb into a waist-high basket or brace for a bumpy landing should watch from the ground – the view of a hundred balloons at sunrise is spectacular from a terrace too.
  • Book through licensed operators: we use only companies licensed for commercial balloon flights and include insurance details on your voucher.

Vegetarian and Jain food in Turkey: an honest guide

Turkey is easier for vegetarians than its kebab reputation suggests, and harder for Jain travellers than most of Asia. Here is what to expect.

What vegetarians can eat everywhere

  • Mercimek çorbası (red-lentil soup), gözleme with spinach, cheese or potato, pide with cheese, stuffed vine leaves with rice (zeytinyağlı dolma), imam bayıldı (stuffed aubergine), white-bean stew, salads, yoghurt, simit bread and fresh fruit.
  • Breakfasts are a strength: cheeses, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, honey, jams and bread. Ask for eggs on the side if anyone avoids them.

What to watch

  • Soups and rice can be cooked in meat stock, and some vegetable dishes contain minced meat. The phrase "etsiz" (without meat) helps; our guides ask for you.
  • Many breads and pastries contain egg; baklava is usually egg-free but made with butter.
  • Jain meals are difficult: onion, garlic and potato appear in most cooked dishes. Plan on Indian restaurants in Istanbul and on simple dishes requested in advance elsewhere. Carry theplas, khakhra and ready-to-eat packs for Cappadocia and Pamukkale.

Indian food, city by city

  • Istanbul: several Indian restaurants in Sultanahmet, Taksim and Beyoğlu, a few of them pure-veg friendly; we book lunches or dinners there on request.
  • Cappadocia: one or two Indian restaurants in Göreme; otherwise Turkish veg dishes. Some cave hotels will prepare simple dal and rice when told in advance.
  • Pamukkale, Kuşadası, Antalya: limited Indian options; hotel buffets carry plenty of salads, vegetables, rice and bread.

We pass meal preferences to every hotel in writing and mark them on your vouchers, but we will not promise a Jain kitchen where none exists.

Turkey tour from Ahmedabad: FAQs

How much does a Turkey tour package from Ahmedabad cost?

Our Turkey packages currently start at ₹40,999 per person for 3 nights. Most of our Turkey packages fall between ₹43,499 and ₹80,000 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from {$from} are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.

Is there a direct flight from Ahmedabad to Istanbul?

No, not as of October 2026. All routings have one stop, usually in Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Delhi or Mumbai, and take about 10 to 14 hours in total. IndiGo flies Delhi–Istanbul non-stop, so a single ticket from Ahmedabad through Delhi is another option. We issue through-tickets so bags go straight to Istanbul.

Do Indians need a visa for Turkey?

Yes. Indians who hold a valid US, UK, Schengen or Irish visa or residence permit can apply for the Turkish e-visa online. Everyone else applies for a sticker visa at the visa application centre in Ahmedabad, decided by the Turkish Consulate General in Mumbai. As of October 2026; rules change, so we check before you book.

How long does a Turkey visa take from Ahmedabad?

The sticker visa usually takes two to three weeks after biometrics, and up to four in busy months before Diwali and the summer vacation. The e-visa for eligible travellers is often issued within minutes and rarely takes more than a few days. Start the sticker visa at least four to five weeks before departure.

How many days are enough for Turkey?

Six nights covers Istanbul and Cappadocia comfortably, including a spare morning for the balloon. Eight nights adds Pamukkale and Ephesus. Ten nights lets you finish on the Antalya or Bodrum coast. With senior travellers, plan seven nights for the Istanbul–Cappadocia route so that each day has a rest.

Is vegetarian food available in Turkey for Gujarati families?

Vegetarian food is available: lentil soup, spinach and cheese gözleme, stuffed aubergine, rice-filled vine leaves, salads, yoghurt and big breakfasts. Watch for meat stock and egg in breads. Istanbul has Indian restaurants; Cappadocia has a couple. Jain meals are difficult outside Indian restaurants, so carry dry snacks for some days.

Is the Cappadocia balloon ride safe for children and seniors?

Licensed operators fly only after the morning weather approval, which is what makes cancellations common in winter. Operators usually set a minimum age of about six or seven. Seniors must be able to climb into a waist-high basket and brace for landing. Those who cannot can watch the sunrise balloons from a hotel terrace.

What is the best time to visit Turkey from Ahmedabad?

April to June and September to November. April and October are mild and suit every age group; October usually matches the Diwali vacation. May works for the Gujarat summer break, with warm days. July and August are hot and crowded, while December to March is cold, with snow in Cappadocia and more balloon cancellations.

What is the flight fare from Ahmedabad to Istanbul?

Economy return fares on one-stop routings usually range from about ₹40,000 to ₹65,000 per person when booked six to ten weeks ahead. Budget connections through Sharjah or Dubai are cheapest; full-service airlines cost more but carry more baggage. Diwali, Christmas and May vacation dates cost noticeably more.

Can I combine Turkey with Dubai or Europe?

Yes. A two- or three-night Dubai stopover fits naturally on Emirates or flydubai routings and needs a UAE visa. Turkey also pairs with Greece or another Schengen country; once you hold the Schengen visa, the Turkish e-visa becomes available. We plan open-jaw tickets so you do not backtrack.

Is Turkey safe for Indian families?

The tourist areas of Istanbul, Cappadocia, Pamukkale and the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts are visited safely by large numbers of Indian families each year. Take the usual city precautions with bags and phones in crowded bazaars and on trams. We check travel advisories before you travel and provide 24×7 support during the trip.

Can a Turkey trip from Ahmedabad be arranged for a large family?

Yes. Extended families and friends travel as a private group on their own dates, with a minibus and their own guide in Istanbul and Cappadocia. We choose hotels that can hold all the rooms together, plan Indian meals in Istanbul, and request ground-floor rooms for older members. Visa files are prepared for each person.
