Good forFamilies, senior citizens, groups
The Char Dham Yatra – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath in the Garhwal Himalaya – is a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage for many families in Gujarat. It is also a demanding journey: long mountain drives, high altitude, weather changes and compulsory registration. A well-planned package makes the difference between a tiring trip and a peaceful darshan.
We plan the yatra from Ahmedabad with transport from Haridwar or Dehradun, hotels close to each dham, vegetarian meals and help with registration. If you have less time, a Do Dham Yatra (Kedarnath and Badrinath) is a shorter alternative.

How to reach the Char Dham from Ahmedabad
- By air: fly from Ahmedabad to Dehradun (Jolly Grant airport), the closest airport to Haridwar and Rishikesh, where the road yatra begins.
- By train: trains run from Ahmedabad to Haridwar and Dehradun. Groups and senior citizens often prefer the train for the extra luggage allowance and a lower cost.
- By helicopter: helicopter services operate to Kedarnath (from the Guptkashi–Phata–Sersi area) and as Char Dham charters from Dehradun. Seats are limited and must be booked well in advance through authorised channels.

When to do the Char Dham Yatra
- Opening: the temples open around Akshaya Tritiya (late April or May); exact dates are announced by the temple committees each year.
- May–June: the busiest weeks, with the most pleasant weather. Book hotels and helicopters early.
- July–August: monsoon – landslides can block roads, so we plan buffer days or advise other months.
- September–October: clear skies and fewer crowds; the temples close for winter around Diwali and Bhai Dooj.
Before you go: registration, health and packing
- Registration: every pilgrim must register with Uttarakhand Tourism before the yatra; we help you complete it with your ID details.
- Health: Kedarnath and Badrinath are above 3,000 m. Senior citizens and anyone with heart, lung or blood-pressure conditions should consult their doctor before booking, and keep regular medicines with them.
- Food: the whole route serves vegetarian food; Jain meals are arranged where hotels can prepare them.
- Pack: warm layers, a rain jacket, trekking shoes, a torch and a small first-aid kit.
