Goa Tour Packages from Mumbai
An hour in the air from BOM or Navi Mumbai, a day on the Konkan Railway, or a coastal drive down NH66 – private Goa holidays planned around Mumbai weekends and the monsoon.
For many Mumbaikars, Goa is the default escape: close enough for a Friday-to-Sunday break, different enough to feel like a real holiday. The choice is not whether to go but how. There are dozens of non-stop flights a day from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International (BOM), a growing number from the new Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI), several fast trains on the Konkan Railway, and a coastal highway that is improving but still not finished.
This page helps you choose. It sets out what a Goa package costs per person, compares each way of getting there from Mumbai with real journey times as of October 2026, gives three itineraries matched to those options, explains how the Mumbai monsoon and Goa's own seasons line up, and lists practical tips for Mumbai families, couples and friend groups. Every trip is private and planned by our team in Ahmedabad, with booking on WhatsApp or phone. We do not have a Mumbai office.

Transport from Mumbai: what to budget per person, return
- Flight BOM or NMI to Goa: usually ₹5,000 – 11,000 return booked three to five weeks ahead; ₹12,000 – 20,000 around Christmas and New Year.
- Vande Bharat or Tejas (chair car): about ₹2,800 – 4,500 return; executive class roughly double.
- Jan Shatabdi or Konkan Kanya (sleeper/AC): from about ₹1,000 to ₹3,500 return depending on class.
- Private cab Mumbai–Goa one way: an Innova or similar typically costs ₹14,000 – 20,000 for the vehicle, plus tolls, which makes sense for four to six people.
Extra on the ground: water sports at Calangute or Baga, the Mandovi river cruise, the Dudhsagar jeep safari (about ₹600 – 800 per seat plus the forest entry), casino entry, scooter rental, lunches and dinners. New Year's Eve gala dinners at resorts are often compulsory and charged separately; we tell you before you confirm.
Mumbai to Goa: flight, train, road or sea
By air
- From BOM: IndiGo, the Air India group, Akasa and others fly non-stop to both Goa airports – Dabolim (GOI) in the south-centre and Manohar International at Mopa (GOX) in the north. Flying time is about 1 to 1¼ hours.
- From Navi Mumbai (NMI): as of October 2026 IndiGo flies non-stop to Dabolim about twice a day and to Mopa about three times a day. For Panvel, Kharghar, Belapur, Vashi and Thane residents, NMI often saves an hour on the road.
- Which Goa airport: pick Mopa if you are staying at Morjim, Ashwem, Mandrem, Arambol or Vagator; Dabolim if you are staying in Colva, Benaulim, Cavelossim, Palolem or around Panaji. Choosing wrongly can add 1½ hours to the transfer.
By train on the Konkan Railway
| Train (as of October 2026) | From – to | Typical time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vande Bharat Express (22229) | Mumbai CSMT – Madgaon | About 7¾ hours outside monsoon; about 10 hours in monsoon | Early-morning start, chair car and executive class; six days a week; stops include Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Ratnagiri and Thivim |
| Tejas Express (22119) | Mumbai CSMT – Karmali | About 8½–9 hours | Karmali is closest to Panaji and Old Goa |
| Jan Shatabdi (12051) | Dadar – Madgaon | About 9 hours | Early-morning day train; good value |
| Mandovi Express | Mumbai CSMT – Madgaon | About 11–12 hours | Daytime train known for its Konkan scenery |
| Konkan Kanya Express | Mumbai CSMT – Madgaon | About 11–12 hours | Overnight; board after dinner, wake near Goa |
The Konkan Railway runs a slower monsoon timetable every year, usually from about 10 June to 31 October, to allow for safety speed limits in the ghats. Times above can stretch by two hours or more in those months. Thivim station suits North Goa stays; Madgaon suits South Goa. Exact timings change with each timetable, so we confirm them when booking.
By road on NH66
The coastal route via Panvel, Mahad, Chiplun, Ratnagiri and Kudal is about 590 km. Four-laning has been under way for years; much of it is finished, but bypasses at Indapur and Mangaon and a few flyovers were still being built in 2026, with full completion not expected before 2027. Plan on 10 to 13 hours with breaks, longer on festival weekends such as Ganeshotsav when Konkan traffic peaks. Many drivers prefer the alternative via the Mumbai–Pune Expressway, Kolhapur and the Amboli or Chorla ghats – a similar distance on wider roads.
By sea
Cordelia Cruises operates from the Mumbai cruise terminal in the October-to-May season, with short round trips that call at Goa's Mormugao port among their itineraries. These are cruise holidays rather than a way to reach Goa and stay on, so they suit a separate trip. Sailings vary by month, so check dates before planning around them.
Three Goa itineraries matched to Mumbai departures
2 nights – Friday-evening flight, back Sunday night
- Friday: Evening flight from BOM or NMI to Mopa. Transfer to a Candolim, Vagator or Anjuna hotel; late dinner.
- Saturday: Morning at Chapora Fort and Vagator; afternoon at a beach shack; evening at the Arpora Saturday night market (in season).
- Sunday: Fort Aguada, a long lunch, sunset at Sinquerim, then the last flight home.
4 nights – Vande Bharat down, flight back
- Day 1: Early-morning Vande Bharat from CSMT, Dadar or Thane; arrive at Madgaon in the afternoon. Transfer to a South Goa resort in Benaulim or Cavelossim.
- Day 2: South Goa: Colva and Palolem beaches, Cabo de Rama fort, dolphin boat trip.
- Day 3: Old Goa churches – Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral – the Mangueshi temple and Fontainhas in Panaji; move to North Goa.
- Day 4: North Goa beaches, water sports at Calangute, river cruise in the evening.
- Day 5: Fly home from Mopa.
5 nights – family trip by road with Dudhsagar
- Day 1: Private car leaves at 5 am; lunch at Chiplun or Sangameshwar; stay overnight at a Ganpatipule or Ratnagiri beach resort.
- Day 2: Continue to Goa (about 5 hours); check in to a Calangute or Candolim hotel with a pool.
- Day 3: Dudhsagar falls jeep safari (October to May) and a spice plantation lunch near Ponda.
- Day 4: Baga, Calangute and Fort Aguada; evening river cruise with Goan folk dance.
- Day 5: Free day: water park, beach or Panaji's museums.
- Day 6: Drive back via Kolhapur and the Mumbai–Pune Expressway for a change of scenery.
The overnight stop on the Konkan coast turns a long drive into part of the holiday and keeps children and grandparents comfortable. It works equally well on the return.
Monsoon timing and long weekends for Mumbai travellers
Mumbai and Goa share almost the same monsoon, so leaving the city in July will not take you away from the rain. That can be a reason to go rather than a reason to stay: Goa in the rains is green, quiet and roughly 40–60% cheaper, with waterfalls at full flow and the hinterland at its best. Swimming in the sea is unsafe and most beach shacks close from June to September.
- Monsoon Goa (July–August): choose a resort with a pool, add the Netravali or Chorla Ghat drives, and expect slower trains on the Konkan route.
- Ganeshotsav (August–September): the Konkan road and trains are packed with Mumbaikars going home to Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. Fly if you travel that week.
- Diwali: a popular five-night family slot; book by August.
- Christmas to New Year: the busiest and most expensive time of the year in Goa. Sunburn and other music festivals push North Goa rates up sharply; South Goa stays calmer.
- Republic Day, Holi and Good Friday weekends: ideal three-night breaks; flights fill two to three weeks out.
- Maharashtra summer vacation (May): hot and humid, but good value; pick hotels with pools and plan sightseeing in the mornings.

Food and practical tips for Mumbai travellers in Goa
- Food: Goan fish curry-rice, prawn balchão and bebinca are the obvious draws, and seafood lovers will find Malvani-style dishes familiar. Vegetarian travellers eat well at Goan Hindu restaurants serving the Saraswat thali, and Gujarati or Jain food is available in Panaji, Calangute and Margao. We confirm veg or Jain meals in writing where hotels offer them, and say plainly where options are thin, such as smaller South Goa beach villages.
- Getting around: app cabs are limited in Goa because of local taxi rules; Goa Miles and the local taxi counters are the main options. A private car included in your package avoids daily haggling.
- Scooter rental: wear a helmet and carry your driving licence; police checks on the Calangute–Baga belt are frequent.
- Beaches: obey lifeguard flags; red flags mean no swimming, especially in the monsoon and the weeks either side of it.
- Packing: light cottons, a hat, SPF 50, a light rain jacket from June to October, and modest clothing for churches and temples.
- Alcohol rules: drinking on beaches and in public places is fined in Goa; enjoy it at shacks and restaurants instead.
- Train-day tips: on the Vande Bharat and Tejas, meals can be chosen when booking; carry snacks for children on longer trains like the Mandovi Express.

How much does a Goa tour package from Mumbai cost?
Our Goa packages currently start at ₹5,999 per person for 2 nights. Most of our Goa packages fall between ₹11,999 and ₹24,999 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from {$from} are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
What is the fastest way to reach Goa from Mumbai?
Flying is fastest: about an hour to an hour and a quarter in the air from BOM or Navi Mumbai, plus airport time. Door to door, allow four to five hours. The Vande Bharat Express takes about seven and three-quarter hours outside the monsoon and drops you at Madgaon, which is close to many South Goa resorts.
Are there flights from Navi Mumbai airport to Goa?
Yes. As of October 2026 IndiGo flies non-stop from Navi Mumbai International to Dabolim about twice a day and to Mopa about three times a day. Flying time is about an hour. Schedules change by season, so we confirm the current flight when booking your package.
Should I fly into Mopa or Dabolim?
It depends on your hotel. Mopa, in the far north, is best for Morjim, Ashwem, Arambol, Vagator and Anjuna. Dabolim is better for South Goa and Panaji. Calangute and Candolim are roughly equidistant. Picking the airport nearest your hotel can save more than an hour on each transfer.
Is the Mumbai–Goa highway complete in 2026?
Not fully. Most of NH66 has been widened, but bypasses at Indapur and Mangaon and some flyovers were still under construction in 2026, with completion expected around 2027. The drive takes about 10 to 13 hours. Many travellers prefer the route via the Mumbai–Pune Expressway and Kolhapur.
Which train is best from Mumbai to Goa?
The Vande Bharat Express from CSMT to Madgaon is the quickest at about seven and three-quarter hours outside the monsoon. The Tejas Express to Karmali suits Panaji and North Goa stays. The Jan Shatabdi from Dadar is cheaper, and the overnight Konkan Kanya saves a hotel night. All run slower during the monsoon timetable.
Is Goa worth visiting in the monsoon from Mumbai?
Yes, if you want greenery, waterfalls and quiet resorts rather than beach time. Prices drop sharply between June and September, and drives through the hinterland are lovely. The sea is unsafe for swimming and many shacks close, so choose a hotel with a pool and plan indoor options for heavy-rain days.
Can I do a weekend trip to Goa from Mumbai?
Yes. Take a Friday evening flight, spend Saturday and Sunday on the beaches and fly back on Sunday night. Two nights is enough for one area, usually North Goa. With a Monday off, three nights lets you include South Goa or Old Goa. Book flights early for long weekends.
Is there a cruise from Mumbai to Goa?
Cordelia Cruises runs short round trips from Mumbai in the October to May season, and some itineraries call at Goa. They are cruise holidays rather than one-way transport, so they suit a separate trip. Dates vary by month and the operator decides itineraries, so check before planning a holiday around a sailing.
Is Goa good for a family trip with children from Mumbai?
Very good. Pick a hotel with a pool in Candolim, Calangute or South Goa, keep sightseeing to mornings, and include the Dudhsagar jeep safari, a spice farm and a dolphin trip. The short flight or a day train keeps travel time low. Beaches with lifeguards are safer for children.
Is vegetarian and Jain food easy to find in Goa?
Vegetarian food is easy: Goan Hindu thalis, Udupi restaurants and North Indian kitchens are common in towns. Jain food is available in Panaji, Margao and the Calangute belt, and many larger hotels prepare it on request. Smaller beach villages have fewer options. We confirm meal preferences with each hotel in writing.
How do I book a Goa package if you have no office in Mumbai?
Planning and booking happen on WhatsApp or phone with our Ahmedabad team. You get a written itinerary with named hotels, can change it as often as needed, and receive invoices and vouchers as PDFs. Payment is online. While you are in Goa, our 24×7 WhatsApp line handles any change.
