Mumbai to Dubai is one of the busiest international air routes out of India. On a typical day there are somewhere between 25 and 40 non-stop departures from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, flown by Emirates, flydubai, Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo and SpiceJet. Fares are competitive, the flight is about three hours, and Dubai sits 1½ hours behind Mumbai on the clock. Because flights are so easy to find, the decisions that actually change your holiday are different: whether you take a 3 am, a 10 am or a 10 pm departure, whether you stay in Bur Dubai or the Marina, and whether your dates fall inside the Shopping Festival or the Diwali rush.

This page is for travellers from Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai: costs by hotel class, what each Terminal 2 flight slot does to your first and last day, where the Navi Mumbai airport stands, the visa as of November 2026, itineraries, a 2026–27 holiday calendar and food notes. Your trip is planned by our team in Ahmedabad and booked over WhatsApp or phone; we do not have a Mumbai office, and you will not need one.

24 Dubai packages are live on our site, starting at ₹17,500 per person. The ranges below are per person for two adults in one room, without the air ticket. Each one includes hotel with breakfast, private airport transfers, the 30-day UAE tourist e-visa, a guided half-day city tour, an evening desert safari with barbecue dinner, a dhow dinner cruise and a non-peak Burj Khalifa ticket for levels 124–125.

The air ticket: because so many airlines compete out of Mumbai, a return economy fare to Dubai is often ₹18,000 – 28,000 per person when booked four to eight weeks ahead. Diwali week, the Christmas–New Year fortnight and late May can push it to ₹35,000 – 50,000. A full-service fare on Emirates or Air India usually includes more checked baggage than a low-cost fare, which matters if you plan to shop.

What sits outside these bands: a sunset-slot or level-148 upgrade at Burj Khalifa, theme parks (roughly ₹7,500 – 10,000 per adult each), quad bikes at the camp, lunches and dinners not named in the plan, and the hotel's Tourism Dirham where it is charged. A 2026 Dubai relief package lets registered hotels skip that fee for now, so some properties do not collect it; we confirm on the quote. Hotels also hold a refundable card deposit at check-in.

Note for 2026–27: the Museum of the Future closed on 1 September 2026 for a rebuild and is due back in the first quarter of 2027, and the Burj Al Arab is shut for restoration until about October 2027. Our city tour still stops outside both for photos, but neither can be visited inside this season.

Flying to Dubai from Mumbai: terminal, slots and Navi Mumbai

Schedules below are as of November 2026. Airlines retime flights every season, so we confirm the exact flight number and time on your quote.

Which airport

  • CSMIA Terminal 2 at Sahar handles every international departure from the old airport, so all Mumbai–Dubai non-stops leave from here. From Andheri or Bandra the drive takes 20–45 minutes; from Thane, Borivali or Mulund allow 1–1½ hours in evening traffic; from Colaba or Nariman Point the coastal road has cut the time, but still allow an hour.
  • Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) has a T2 station linked to the terminal by a footbridge – handy from Worli, BKC or south Mumbai on a daytime flight with light bags, not for small-hours departures.
  • Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI) opened for domestic flights on 25 December 2025 and began international service on 15 July 2026 with Air India Express to Abu Dhabi. As of November 2026 we have not found a non-stop from NMI to Dubai International. Airlines have announced phased moves of some Gulf flights to NMI from January 2027 (Air India Express is shifting its Sharjah service), and IndiGo expects to start international flying there in early 2027. For families in Panvel, Kharghar, Vashi or Nerul, an NMI–Abu Dhabi flight plus a road transfer to Dubai is already a workable option; we compare it with T2 on every quote.

UAE visa for Mumbai travellers (as of November 2026)

An Indian passport holder needs a UAE visa before flying, unless he or she qualifies for visa on arrival. We prepare and submit your application through a licensed UAE sponsor; approval is at the discretion of the UAE immigration authority, so no agent can promise it.

  • Fee: the government charge for a 30-day single-entry tourist visa is AED 252 plus VAT (about AED 265, close to ₹6,900 at today's rate of about ₹26 to the dirham). With the sponsor's service charge and insurance, most people pay ₹7,000 – 9,000. It is included in our package prices above.
  • Documents on WhatsApp: colour scans of the passport front and back (valid six months beyond travel), a white-background photo and a PAN copy. Traders with irregular bank credits are sometimes asked for a statement or GST certificate; we warn you in advance if that is likely.
  • Timing: allow three to five working days. For Diwali and Christmas departures, send documents three to four weeks ahead.
  • Visa on arrival: possible for Indians holding a valid US visa or green card, a UK or EU visa or residence permit, or residence in Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand or Canada. Many Mumbai professionals with US B1/B2 visas qualify; we check the passport and visa before you rely on it.
  • Abu Dhabi free-visa pilot: the scheme that covered the visa for Indians booking three hotel nights in Abu Dhabi ran from August to 31 October 2026 and has closed. If it returns, we will apply it to 6-night plans with Abu Dhabi nights.

Visa types, refusal reasons and the visa-on-arrival rules in detail are on our Dubai visa guide for Indians, and a full line-by-line budget is in our Dubai trip cost from India guide.

Three Dubai itineraries built around Mumbai flights

3 nights / 4 days – Christmas long weekend, Friday-night departure

Christmas Day 2026 is a Friday, so many Mumbai offices close from Friday to Sunday. Leave BKC or Lower Parel after work on Thursday 24 December and take a late-evening flight.

  • Thursday night: Land in Dubai around midnight; hotel booked from that date in Downtown or Business Bay.
  • Friday: Late breakfast, Al Fahidi and an abra across the Creek to the souks; Burj Khalifa at a non-peak evening slot, the Fountain, dinner in the Dubai Mall.
  • Saturday: Morning free for the Shopping Festival sales; desert safari from about 3 pm with dune drive and barbecue.
  • Sunday: Palm Jumeirah, the Marina walk and JBR beach; evening flight back, landing in Mumbai after midnight. One day of leave on Monday covers the late arrival.

4 nights / 5 days – family with school-age children, morning departure

  • Day 1: 9–10 am flight from T2, land before lunch. Check in at a 4-star in Al Barsha near the Mall of the Emirates metro; Ski Dubai or the mall in the evening.
  • Day 2: Guided city tour, Dubai Frame, then Dubai Aquarium and the Fountain show.
  • Day 3: Private day in Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the BAPS Hindu Mandir (closed on Mondays) and a theme park on Yas Island if the children are old enough to enjoy it.
  • Day 4: Slow morning; desert safari in the afternoon; Global Village (open from 14 October 2026 to May 2027) on the way back if energy allows.
  • Day 5: Miracle Garden, then an afternoon flight home.

6 nights / 7 days – Gujarati or Jain joint family with grandparents

  • Day 1: Midday flight; Standard or Deluxe hotel in Bur Dubai, walking distance to pure-veg thali restaurants and the temple area.
  • Day 2: Short city tour by private coach; Burj Khalifa in the late afternoon when queues are shorter.
  • Day 3: Rest morning; dhow dinner cruise on the Creek with a Jain meal requested in advance.
  • Day 4: Transfer to Abu Dhabi with a long stop at the BAPS Mandir; one night in Abu Dhabi so nobody does a 3-hour round trip in a day.
  • Day 5: Grand Mosque in the cool morning, return to Dubai; evening free.
  • Day 6: Desert camp transfer without dune bashing, chairs and a veg counter; Gold Souk the next morning for those who want it.
  • Day 7: Meena Bazaar, then the airport; wheelchairs pre-booked at both ends.

Extended families and friend circles travel as a private group on their own dates, with their own coach and guide.

Mumbai holiday calendar for Dubai, 2026–27

  • Diwali vacation: Maharashtra state-board schools are reported to break from 2 to 14 November 2026. Fares from Mumbai are at their autumn peak in this window; Dubai is warm by day (around 30°C) and pleasant after sunset.
  • Dubai Shopping Festival: the 32nd edition runs from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027, with mall sales, raffles and nightly shows. It overlaps the Christmas break of most ICSE, CBSE and IB schools in Mumbai.
  • Two Friday holidays: Christmas (25 December 2026) and New Year's Day (1 January 2027) both fall on a Friday, giving two back-to-back long weekends. Hotels near the Burj Khalifa charge their highest rates of the year for New Year's Eve, so we place New Year families in Business Bay or Al Barsha instead.
  • Summer and monsoon: the May vacation and the June–September rains bring Dubai's lowest hotel prices but 38–44°C heat, and occasional rain delays at T2. These months suit mall-and-indoor-park trips more than a first visit.

Food and practical tips for Mumbai families in Dubai

Eating the way you eat at home

  • Gujarati and Jain: Bur Dubai and Karama have many pure-veg restaurants run by Gujarati and Rajasthani families, with unlimited thalis and Jain dishes without onion, garlic or root vegetables. A Ghatkopar or Borivali family will find these the easiest dinners of the trip. For Jain breakfasts at the hotel we ask in advance and print the request on the voucher.
  • Marathi food: vada pav, sabudana khichdi and poha are on many Indian café menus in Karama, but a proper Maharashtrian thali is harder to find. Carry thepla, khakhra, chivda or ladoo for the first day; packaged home food is allowed in baggage.
  • Seafood: Malvani and Konkan-style fish thalis appear at some Karama restaurants, and Deira's fish market area has simple grills. All meat in the UAE is halal, which suits Bohra, Khoja and other Muslim families from Bhendi Bazaar or Mumbra.
  • Camp and cruise: both serve a vegetarian counter; Jain meals need a request at least a day ahead and are confirmed only by the operator.

Before you leave Mumbai

  • Baggage for shopping: low-cost fares often include 20–30 kg in checked baggage; buy extra kilos online at booking, which costs much less than at the counter on the way back.
  • Gold: the Gold Souk charges the day's rate by weight plus a making charge. Compare with the Zaveri Bazaar rate that morning. The higher customs jewellery allowance is meant for Indians who have lived abroad for over a year, so on a holiday check the current duty-free limit before buying.
  • Money: carry a forex card for most spends and AED 300–500 cash per family for taxis and souks. Card payments are accepted almost everywhere.

Why Mumbai travellers book Dubai with Vibrant Holidays

  • Planned in Ahmedabad, booked on WhatsApp or phone: 11 years in business from C G Road, Ahmedabad. Itinerary, quote, vouchers and invoice come as PDFs; there is no Mumbai office and no need to visit one.
  • Flight slot matched to the hotel: we pick the departure from T2 or Navi Mumbai first and then book the hotel nights around it, so a 4 am landing never means a lobby wait until 3 pm.
  • Every extra on paper: Burj Khalifa time slot, theme park tickets, the Tourism Dirham position of your hotel and the visa all appear as separate lines before you pay.
  • Food confirmed in writing: vegetarian, Jain or halal needs are printed on the hotel and tour vouchers.
  • Support on the trip: a 24×7 WhatsApp line and a ground partner in Dubai for transfers and changes; office open Monday to Saturday. IATA-accredited; member of TAAI, TAFI, ADTOI and IATO; recognised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

Dubai tour from Mumbai: FAQs

How much does a Dubai tour package from Mumbai cost?

Our Dubai packages currently start at ₹17,500 per person for 2 nights. Most of our Dubai packages fall between ₹35,500 and ₹71,500 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from Mumbai are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.

How long is the flight from Mumbai to Dubai?

About three hours gate to gate on a non-stop, a few minutes more on the way back. Dubai is 1½ hours behind India, so a 10 am departure from Mumbai lands around 11.30 am local time. Add check-in time at Terminal 2 and the drive across Mumbai when planning your day.

Which airlines fly non-stop from Mumbai to Dubai?

As of November 2026, Emirates, flydubai, Air India, Air India Express, IndiGo and SpiceJet fly non-stop from CSMIA to Dubai International. Etihad and Akasa Air fly Mumbai to Abu Dhabi, and Air Arabia flies to Sharjah. We compare total cost including baggage and seats before recommending one.

Can I fly to Dubai from Navi Mumbai airport?

Not non-stop as of November 2026. Navi Mumbai International Airport started international flights on 15 July 2026 with Air India Express to Abu Dhabi, which is about 1½ hours by road from Dubai. More Gulf routes are due to move there in phases from January 2027, so we check NMI options on every quote.

What is the best flight time from Mumbai to Dubai for a family?

A morning departure between 8 and 11 am usually works best. You land before lunch, rooms are ready by mid-afternoon, and nobody loses a night of sleep. Pre-dawn and late-night flights are cheaper and give more time on the ground, but they suit couples better than children or grandparents.

How much does a 4-night Dubai trip from Mumbai cost for two?

With a 3-star hotel, the land part with visa, transfers, city tour, safari, cruise and Burj Khalifa is about ₹66,000 – 83,000 for two, and return flights from Mumbai add roughly ₹36,000 – 56,000 outside peak weeks. A 4-star hotel raises the land part to about ₹90,000 – 1,16,000. Meals, shopping and parks are extra.

When is the Dubai Shopping Festival in 2026–27?

The 32nd Dubai Shopping Festival runs from 4 December 2026 to 17 January 2027. It overlaps the Christmas break of many Mumbai schools and the Friday holidays on 25 December and 1 January. Hotels and flights cost more in those weeks, so book by October or early November for those dates.

Do Mumbai travellers need a visa for Dubai?

Yes. Indian passport holders need a UAE visa before flying, usually the 30-day single-entry tourist e-visa costing about ₹7,000 – 9,000 all in as of November 2026. Holders of a valid US, UK or EU visa or residence permit may qualify for visa on arrival. We prepare and submit the application; approval rests with the UAE authorities.

Is Jain food available in Dubai?

Yes. Bur Dubai and Karama have several pure-veg restaurants that cook without onion, garlic or root vegetables, and many serve unlimited Gujarati thalis. Hotels and safari camps can usually prepare a Jain meal with a day or two of notice. We put Jain requirements on every voucher and suggest Bur Dubai hotels for strict families.

Can I do Dubai on a long weekend from Mumbai?

Yes. Take a Thursday or Friday late-night flight, spend three days in Dubai and fly back on Sunday evening, landing in Mumbai after midnight. Christmas Day and New Year's Day 2026–27 both fall on a Friday, and Republic Day 2027 is a Tuesday, so these weekends need little or no leave.

Do you have a Mumbai office for Dubai bookings?

No. Our team works from C G Road in Ahmedabad and plans Mumbai trips over WhatsApp and phone, Monday to Saturday. You receive a written itinerary with hotel names and prices, share visa documents on WhatsApp, pay online against an invoice, and get vouchers, tickets and the e-visa as PDFs before you leave.
