Australia Tour Packages from Ahmedabad
Sydney Harbour, the Great Ocean Road, Phillip Island penguins and the Gold Coast theme parks – a private Australia holiday planned in Ahmedabad, with the visitor visa file prepared by our team.
Australia is a different kind of decision from Thailand or Dubai. The flight is long, the visa needs a proper file, and the country is so large that Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast are linked by domestic flights rather than drives. In return you get a holiday that Gujarati families talk about for years: the Opera House from a harbour ferry, koalas and kangaroos up close, little penguins coming ashore at dusk, theme parks on the Queensland coast, and cities where finding a Gujarati thali is genuinely easy. Many Ahmedabad families also have relatives in Melbourne or Sydney, and a package can be built around a few days with them.
This page sets out what an Australia package from Ahmedabad costs by trip length, how the subclass 600 visitor visa works for Indian passport holders today, which flight connections make sense from SVPI Airport, three day-wise itineraries, the season-by-season picture (Australian seasons are the reverse of ours), and the strict biosecurity rules that catch out travellers carrying homemade snacks. Live packages with current prices appear further down.

Australia package costs from Ahmedabad (2026 bands)
Our Australia packages start at ₹95,000 per person today, with 3 on sale. The table shows realistic per-person bands on twin sharing. They exclude the international flight from Ahmedabad and the visa fee, but include hotels with breakfast, domestic flights between cities, private airport transfers, and the main sightseeing listed in each itinerary.
| Trip | Standard (3-star / 3½-star) | Deluxe (4-star, central) | Premium (5-star, harbour or beachfront) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 7 nights Sydney + Gold Coast | ₹1,10,000 – 1,40,000 | ₹1,40,000 – 1,80,000 | ₹2,10,000 – 2,90,000 |
| 9 nights Sydney + Melbourne + Gold Coast | ₹1,45,000 – 1,85,000 | ₹1,85,000 – 2,35,000 | ₹2,70,000 – 3,70,000 |
| 11 nights adds Cairns and the reef | ₹1,80,000 – 2,30,000 | ₹2,30,000 – 2,95,000 | ₹3,40,000 – 4,60,000 |
| 14 nights east coast with Tasmania or a relatives' break | ₹2,20,000 – 2,90,000 | ₹2,90,000 – 3,70,000 | ₹4,20,000 – 5,80,000 |
What moves the price most: Australian hotels price by room, not by person, so a family of four in one family room costs far less per head than two couples in two rooms. Private day tours are the second big lever. A private car and driver-guide for the Great Ocean Road or Blue Mountains costs several times a shared coach seat, and since all our trips are private we quote that honestly rather than hiding it in a low headline price.
Usually extra: Sydney Harbour Bridge climb, Sydney Tower Eye, Great Barrier Reef helicopter flights, theme-park fast passes, most lunches and dinners, Opal or Myki transport cards for free days, and travel insurance (strongly advised, as medical care is expensive).
International airfare from Ahmedabad: one-stop economy fares usually run about ₹70,000–1,10,000 per person return when booked two to three months ahead, rising over Christmas and the May–June holidays. The visa application charge is separate (see below).
Australian visitor visa (subclass 600) for Indians
Indian passport holders need a visitor visa before travel. For a holiday this is the subclass 600 visa in the Tourist stream, applied for from outside Australia. There is no visa on arrival and no ETA for Indian passports.
- Online application: lodged through an ImmiAccount on the Department of Home Affairs website. We create the application with you, fill the form and upload the documents.
- Fee: the base application charge for the Tourist stream lodged outside Australia is AUD 250 per applicant from 1 July 2026 (it was AUD 200 before that), paid online by card. A small card surcharge applies. The fee is not refunded if the visa is refused.
- Biometrics: after lodging, Home Affairs usually sends a request for fingerprints and a photograph. These are given at the Australia Visa Application Centre run by VFS Global; for Gujarat applicants that typically means the Ahmedabad centre. Children under five are generally exempt from fingerprinting.
- Processing: most tourist applications from India are decided within about three to six weeks of biometrics, but some take longer, especially before Christmas and the May–June holidays. We advise lodging eight to ten weeks before travel and holding refundable bookings until the grant arrives.
- Documents we usually prepare: passport copies, recent photographs, six months of bank statements, income tax returns for two to three years, a leave or business letter, a day-wise itinerary, and an invitation letter if you are staying with relatives. Retired applicants add pension or investment proof.
- Grant: the visa is electronic and linked to your passport. It commonly allows stays of up to three months per visit within a twelve-month validity, though the officer sets the exact conditions.
Visa facts here are as of October 2026; rules change – we check before you book. We prepare and submit your application; approval is at the discretion of the Australian Department of Home Affairs, and nobody can promise a grant.
Flights from Ahmedabad to Sydney and Melbourne
There is no non-stop flight from Ahmedabad to Australia. The practical choice is between a connection inside India onto a non-stop to Australia, or a single South-East Asian airline with a change in its hub.
| Routing | Airlines (typical) | Total time (about) | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ahmedabad – Delhi – Sydney or Melbourne | Air India non-stops from Delhi; Qantas seasonally Delhi–Melbourne | 15–19 hours | Fewest hours over water; one airline on Air India tickets |
| Ahmedabad – Bengaluru or Mumbai – Sydney | Qantas from Bengaluru; Air India and others where scheduled | 16–20 hours | Alternatives when Delhi connections are full |
| Ahmedabad – Singapore – Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Perth | Singapore Airlines | 16–20 hours | Non-stop first leg from SVPI; widest choice of Australian cities |
| Ahmedabad – Kuala Lumpur – Australian cities | Malaysia Airlines | 17–22 hours | Often lower fares |
- Open-jaw tickets: fly into Sydney and out of Melbourne or Brisbane, so you never backtrack. We price the domestic legs within Australia in the package.
- Jet lag: Sydney and Melbourne are 4½ hours ahead of India in our winter (5½ during Australian daylight saving, October to early April). Plan a gentle first day.
- Seniors: request aisle seats and wheelchair assistance at SVPI and the transit airport; we add this to the booking. A longer layover in Singapore with a transit hotel can break the journey.
Routes and schedules change every season, so treat the airline names above as a guide; we check what is operating for your dates.
Three Australia itineraries for Gujarati travellers

- Day 1: Arrive Sydney; private transfer; evening at Circular Quay with the Opera House lit up.
- Day 2: Sydney city with a private guide: Opera House tour, Royal Botanic Garden, Mrs Macquarie's Chair, Bondi Beach. Harbour ferry to Manly in the afternoon.
- Day 3: Blue Mountains by private car: Three Sisters, Scenic World railway and cable car, and a wildlife park for koalas and kangaroos.
- Day 4: Free morning; fly to the Gold Coast (about 1½ hours).
- Day 5–6: Theme parks – Warner Bros. Movie World, Sea World or Dreamworld – and Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
- Day 7: SkyPoint observation deck and an afternoon on the main Gold Coast beachfront.
- Day 8: Fly home from Brisbane or the Gold Coast via a hub.
9 nights – Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast (the classic)
- Day 1–3: Sydney as above, with the Blue Mountains.
- Day 4: Fly to Melbourne. Laneways, Federation Square and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
- Day 5: Great Ocean Road by private car to the Twelve Apostles – a 10–12 hour day, so we start early and stop often.
- Day 6: Puffing Billy steam train in the Dandenong Ranges in the morning; Phillip Island in the evening for the penguin parade.
- Day 7: Fly to the Gold Coast.
- Day 8–9: Two theme parks or one park and a hinterland day at Mount Tamborine.
- Day 10: Fly home.
12 nights – relaxed pace for senior couples, with family time
- Day 1–4: Sydney with a rest afternoon after the flight; harbour lunch cruise instead of a walking tour.
- Day 5–9: Melbourne, including two free days with relatives, a Yarra Valley drive and the penguins.
- Day 10–12: Cairns: Kuranda Scenic Railway and Skyrail, and a reef day on a large stable pontoon where non-swimmers can use the semi-submersible and underwater observatory.
- Day 13: Fly home via Singapore.
Each plan is private and customised: your own dates, private transfers, and a private car with driver-guide on touring days. Adult children who are confident drivers can also self-drive the Great Ocean Road with an International Driving Permit; we advise against it straight after a long-haul flight.
Seasons in Australia and how they fit Gujarat holidays
| Indian holiday | Australian season | Sydney / Melbourne | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diwali (October – November) | Spring | 17–24°C / 13–21°C, flowers in bloom | Excellent – the best overlap for most families |
| Christmas – New Year | Summer | Warm, 20–28°C; Melbourne can spike above 35°C | Good but the costliest; Sydney fireworks sell out hotels |
| February – March | Late summer | Warm and settled | Very good, fewer Indian crowds |
| April | Autumn | Mild, 15–23°C | Very good; Easter holidays in Australia raise prices |
| May – June (school vacation) | Late autumn to winter | Sydney 9–19°C; Melbourne 7–15°C, windy | Fine for cities and the Gold Coast; pack warm layers |
| July – August | Winter | Cold mornings in the south | Best for Cairns and the reef; snow trips possible |
The far north (Cairns) has a wet season from roughly December to March with box jellyfish on beaches; the reef is still visited but we plan around it. Bushfire smoke can affect parts of the south in hot summers, and we watch advisories closer to travel.
Food, biosecurity and practical tips
Vegetarian and Jain food
- Sydney: Harris Park in western Sydney is the best-known Indian food street, with Gujarati thalis, sweets and Jain-friendly cooking. Central Sydney has many Indian and vegan restaurants.
- Melbourne: Dandenong, Footscray and the inner suburbs have Indian vegetarian restaurants; the city is one of the world's easiest for vegan food.
- Gold Coast and Cairns: fewer Indian places, but enough for an evening meal; hotels and theme parks have vegetarian options.
- Jain meals: possible in Harris Park and at some Indian restaurants elsewhere on notice. In smaller towns on touring days we arrange a packed lunch or plan the stop at a suitable place.
Biosecurity: declare your food
Australia has some of the strictest border food rules in the world. Every traveller fills an Incoming Passenger Card and must declare all food, seeds, spices and plant material. Many packed, commercially sealed snacks are allowed after inspection, but homemade items, fresh fruit, dairy and some seeds can be seized. Failing to declare can mean a heavy fine. If you carry thepla, khakhra or masalas, declare them and let the officer decide.
Other tips
- Plugs are type I (angled flat pins); bring an adapter.
- The sun is strong even in spring; hats and sunscreen are essential, especially on the Gold Coast.
- Distances are large: Sydney to Melbourne is about 1½ hours by air but nine hours by road.
- Tipping is not expected, though rounding up is appreciated.
- Travel insurance with good medical cover is strongly recommended for every traveller, and essential for seniors.
Why Gujarati families plan Australia with us
- Visa file built carefully: we go through finances, leave letters and invitation letters with you before lodging, because a weak first file is the most common reason for delays. Approval stays with Home Affairs.
- Relatives' time built in: many clients visit family in Melbourne or Sydney; we plan the package around those free days instead of forcing a fixed tour.
- Honest pricing of private touring: private cars and guides in Australia are expensive, and we show their cost line by line so you can choose where to spend.
- Based in Ahmedabad since 2015: visit us on C G Road, or plan on WhatsApp and phone; itineraries and vouchers arrive as PDF, with a 24×7 WhatsApp line during travel.
- Accredited: IATA-accredited; member of TAAI, TAFI, ADTOI and IATO; recognised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

How much does a Australia tour package from Ahmedabad cost?
Our Australia packages currently start at ₹95,000 per person for 4 nights. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from {$from} are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
How much is the Australian tourist visa fee for Indians?
The base application charge for the visitor visa subclass 600, Tourist stream, lodged outside Australia is AUD 250 per applicant from 1 July 2026, plus a small card surcharge. It is paid online through ImmiAccount and is not refunded if the application is refused. This is as of October 2026; fees are revised each July, so we confirm before lodging.
How long does an Australian visitor visa take from India?
Most tourist applications are decided within about three to six weeks after biometrics are given, though some take longer. Peak periods before Christmas and the Indian summer holidays are slower. We recommend lodging eight to ten weeks before your flight. Approval is at the discretion of the Department of Home Affairs.
Where do I give biometrics for an Australian visa in Gujarat?
After the online application is lodged, Home Affairs normally sends a biometrics request letter. You then book an appointment at the Australia Visa Application Centre run by VFS Global; Gujarat applicants usually use the Ahmedabad centre. Fingerprints and a photo take a short visit. We book the slot and tell you which original documents to carry.
Is there a direct flight from Ahmedabad to Australia?
No. You fly with one stop, either via Delhi, Mumbai or Bengaluru onto a non-stop to Sydney or Melbourne, or via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur. Total time is usually about 15 to 20 hours. The Singapore routing has a non-stop first leg from Ahmedabad and reaches more Australian cities.
How many days are needed for an Australia trip?
Seven nights is the minimum for two cities, usually Sydney and the Gold Coast. Nine to ten nights covers Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast without rushing. With Cairns and the Great Barrier Reef, or time with relatives, plan twelve to fourteen nights. Fewer than seven nights wastes too much of the trip on flying.
Can I carry homemade food like thepla to Australia?
You may carry food, but you must declare every item on the Incoming Passenger Card. Officers inspect it and may allow commercially packed snacks while seizing homemade, fresh, dairy or seed items. Not declaring can lead to a large fine. Carrying sealed packets from known brands is the safest way to bring Gujarati snacks.
Is vegetarian food easy to find in Australia?
Yes, in the big cities. Sydney has Harris Park with Gujarati and Jain-friendly restaurants, and Melbourne has a large Indian community and many vegan places. The Gold Coast and Cairns have fewer choices but enough. Theme parks and hotels offer vegetarian dishes. We plan lunches on long touring days so that options are available.
Which is the best time to visit Australia from Ahmedabad?
Spring, from September to November, lines up with Diwali and has mild weather in Sydney and Melbourne. Autumn, March to May, is also excellent. The May–June school vacation falls in late autumn and early winter, which is cool in Melbourne but fine with warm clothes. Christmas is summer and the most expensive period.
Can I visit my relatives in Australia on a tour package?
Yes. Many Ahmedabad families do exactly that. We book the parts you want – flights, some hotel nights, sightseeing days and domestic flights – and leave free days for your relatives. If you stay with them, an invitation letter strengthens the visa file. Every package is private, so the plan follows your family's timetable.
Is Australia suitable for senior citizens?
Very much, if the pace is gentle. Cities are clean and accessible, with lifts and good public transport. We request wheelchair help at airports, choose central hotels, keep long days like the Great Ocean Road optional, and allow a rest day after arrival. Comprehensive travel insurance with medical cover is essential for older travellers.
Do I need travel insurance for Australia?
It is not a visa requirement for tourists, but we strongly recommend it. Medical treatment in Australia is costly for visitors, and long-haul trips carry a risk of missed connections and baggage delays. Choose a policy with adequate medical cover for every traveller, especially seniors, and carry the policy document on your phone.
