Rajasthan Tour Packages from Ahmedabad
Udaipur is a morning's drive and Mount Abu even closer – Rajasthan holidays that start at your doorstep in Ahmedabad, with your own car and driver and darshan stops on the way.
For most of India a Rajasthan holiday starts with a flight to Jaipur. For Ahmedabad it starts in your own driveway. Udaipur is about 260 km up the highway past Himmatnagar and Shamlaji, Mount Abu about 220 km past Palanpur, and Jodhpur about 450 km, so the car that picks you up at home can stay with you for the whole trip. No airport queues, no baggage limits, and the freedom to stop at Shamlaji, Kesariyaji, Nathdwara or Ambaji on the way.
That changes how a Rajasthan trip should be planned, and it is how we plan them at Vibrant Holidays. This page covers what a Rajasthan package from Ahmedabad costs when the car replaces the flight, a drive-time table to every major stop, train and flight alternatives from Asarwa, Kalupur and SVPI, four itineraries from a two-night weekend to a full desert circuit, the temple and darshan stops Gujarati families ask for, a month-by-month calendar, and practical notes on food, hotels and road travel. Packages listed on this page carry their current live price.

Rajasthan package price guide from Ahmedabad (2026)
Our Rajasthan packages start at ₹6,500 per person, with 24 available today. Because the road replaces the flight, the private vehicle from Ahmedabad is the main transport cost, and it is already inside the figures below. Bands are per person on twin sharing for a family of four in one car, with hotels and breakfast, the car with driver from your home and back, fuel, tolls, parking, interstate tax and the driver's allowance. Monument tickets and safaris are extra.
| Trip from Ahmedabad | Standard (3-star) | Deluxe (4-star / heritage haveli) | Premium (5-star / palace hotel) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 nights: Udaipur weekend with Nathdwara | ₹8,000 – 11,000 | ₹12,500 – 17,500 | ₹26,000 – 45,000 |
| 2 nights: Mount Abu with Ambaji | ₹7,000 – 9,500 | ₹11,000 – 15,500 | ₹20,000 – 32,000 |
| 4 nights: Udaipur, Kumbhalgarh, Ranakpur, Mount Abu loop | ₹14,000 – 18,500 | ₹21,000 – 29,000 | ₹42,000 – 70,000 |
| 6 nights: Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer desert camp | ₹21,000 – 27,500 | ₹31,000 – 42,000 | ₹62,000 – 1,00,000 |
| 8 nights: full circuit to Jaipur, fly home | ₹29,000 – 37,500 | ₹43,000 – 58,000 | ₹88,000 – 1,40,000 |
How group size changes the price: the car costs the same whether two or four people sit in it, so a couple pays more per head than a family of four, and an extended family in a Tempo Traveller pays less. We quote by vehicle as well as per person so you can see the split.
Extra on the ground: palace and fort tickets (City Palace in Udaipur, Mehrangarh, Kumbhalgarh, Amber), Lake Pichola boat ride, light-and-sound shows, the camel or jeep ride at the dunes if not included, Ranthambore safari seats, lunches and dinners outside the meal plan, and 5% GST. If you fly back from Jaipur, Ahmedabad fares are usually ₹3,500 – 6,000 one way when booked early.
Rajasthan by road from Ahmedabad: distances and drive times
Timings assume a private car leaving Ahmedabad around 7 am with one breakfast or tea stop. Night driving on Rajasthan's two-lane roads is not advisable because of cattle and unlit trucks, so long legs are planned to finish by sunset.
| Ahmedabad to | Approx. distance | Drive time | Route and useful stops |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ambaji | about 180 km | 3½ – 4 h | Via Mehsana and Palanpur; easy to pair with Mount Abu |
| Mount Abu | about 220 km | 4 – 4½ h | Via Palanpur and Abu Road, then a 28 km hill road |
| Udaipur | about 260 km | 4½ – 5 h | NH 48 via Himmatnagar, Shamlaji and Kesariyaji (Rishabhdev) |
| Nathdwara | about 305 km | 5½ h | Through Udaipur, 50 km further north |
| Ranakpur | about 320 km | 6 h | Via Abu Road and Sirohi, or from Udaipur through the Aravallis |
| Kumbhalgarh | about 340 km | 6½ h | Via Udaipur; best as an overnight halt |
| Chittorgarh | about 370 km | 6½ – 7 h | Via Udaipur on the highway east |
| Jodhpur | about 450 km | 8 h | Via Palanpur, Abu Road, Sirohi and Pali |
| Jaipur | about 650 km | 10 – 11 h | Via Udaipur, Bhilwara and Ajmer; break it at Pushkar |
| Jaisalmer | 620 – 720 km by route | Two days | Via Jodhpur (with a night there) or via Barmer |
- Which vehicle: a sedan for a couple, an Innova Crysta for a family of four to five, a Tempo Traveller for 8 to 12, or a mini-coach for a larger family function or office group. All start from your home in Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar.
- Interstate paperwork: a Gujarat-registered tourist vehicle pays Rajasthan entry tax at the border; our quotes include it, so there is nothing to settle with the driver.
- Your own car: Udaipur and Mount Abu are easy self-drives. We then quote land-only – hotels and sightseeing – and suggest a local car in Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, where parking in the old cities is hard.
Not driving? Trains and flights from Ahmedabad
- Udaipur by train: since the broad-gauge line through Himmatnagar and Dungarpur opened, trains run from Asarwa station in Ahmedabad to Udaipur City. The Vande Bharat takes a little over four hours; other expresses take about five. We meet you at Udaipur City station with the car.
- Mount Abu by train: the nearest station is Abu Road, roughly three to four hours from Ahmedabad Kalupur or Sabarmati on the Delhi line, followed by a 45-minute drive up the hill.
- Jodhpur and Jaipur by train: overnight trains from Kalupur and Sabarmati reach Jodhpur in about eight to nine hours and Jaipur in about ten to twelve. Senior travellers usually prefer AC two-tier with lower berths, which we request at booking.
- By air: non-stop flights link SVPI Airport with Jaipur in about 1¼ hours, and Ahmedabad–Jodhpur non-stops have operated on some schedules. Udaipur is quicker by road than by any flight from Ahmedabad.
- The hybrid we sell most: drive out through Udaipur, Kumbhalgarh and Jodhpur to Jaisalmer, then take the train or a flight home so nobody faces a twelve-hour return drive.

Fly Jaipur–Ahmedabad. With two more nights, Ranthambore adds a pair of tiger safaris; sightings are never guaranteed.
Every Rajasthan trip we arrange is private: your car and driver, your hotels and your dates. Joint families and friends' circles travel as a private group, often with a Tempo Traveller and a second car.
Darshan and temple stops Gujarati families ask for
- Shrinathji, Nathdwara: the Pushtimarg haveli where darshan opens in short slots through the day, from Mangla in the early morning to Shayan in the evening, with a break in the afternoon. Timings shift with the season and festivals, so we plan the drive around the slot you want.
- Kesariyaji (Rishabhdev): a Jain tirth revered by Hindu and Bhil devotees too, right on the Ahmedabad–Udaipur highway.
- Shamlaji: the Vishnu temple just inside Gujarat, a natural first stop on the Udaipur road.
- Eklingji and Charbhuja: Shiva's temple of the Mewar rulers north of Udaipur, and the Charbhuja Vishnu temple near Kumbhalgarh.
- Ranakpur: the 15th-century Chaumukha Adinath temple; worshippers have the morning, and visitors are generally admitted from around noon.
- Dilwara, Mount Abu: five marble Jain temples with famously fine carving; strict rules on photography, leather and dress.
- Ambaji: the Shakti Peeth on the Gujarat side of the Aravallis, often combined with Mount Abu.
- Nakoda Parshwanath: a major Jain tirth near Balotra, added on the Jodhpur–Jaisalmer leg.
For pilgrimages we keep daily drives short, book hotels with lifts, include bhojanshala meals where they exist and time each stop to the temple's opening hours. Browse our pilgrimage tour packages for set routes.
When to go: Rajasthan through the year from Ahmedabad
| Month | Weather | Best trips from Ahmedabad | Prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | Cold nights, sunny days | Desert circuit; Uttarayan long weekend in Udaipur | High |
| February | Pleasant; Jaisalmer Desert Festival in most years | Full circuit, Jaisalmer | Medium-high |
| March | Warming; Holi | Udaipur, Jodhpur, Ranakpur | Medium |
| April | Hot in the plains | Mount Abu, Udaipur lake hotels | Low-medium |
| May | Very hot, 40°C and above outside the hills | Summer-vacation trips to Mount Abu; Udaipur resorts with pools | Medium at Mount Abu, low elsewhere |
| June | Hot, pre-monsoon | Mount Abu | Low |
| July | Monsoon rain | Mount Abu and Udaipur weekends as the hills turn green | Low |
| August | Lakes filling | 15 August and Janmashtami weekends in Udaipur and Kumbhalgarh; Nathdwara festivities | Low-medium |
| September | Green, humid | Udaipur at its fullest; quiet Mount Abu | Low |
| October | Clear and warm | Post-Navratri and Diwali trips; Jodhpur's Marwar festival in many years | High in Diwali week |
| November | Ideal | Diwali vacation, Pushkar fair around Kartik Purnima | High |
| December | Cold desert nights | Desert camps, Christmas–New Year | Highest in the last fortnight |
The desert half of Rajasthan – Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and the camps – is an October-to-March trip; most camps close in the hot months. The Mewar half – Udaipur, Kumbhalgarh, Mount Abu – works almost all year from Ahmedabad and is at its prettiest after the monsoon. For Diwali and New Year, book hotels and desert camps six to eight weeks ahead.
Food, hotels and road tips for Gujarati travellers
Vegetarian and Jain food
- Rajasthan is one of the easiest states for vegetarians. Thali houses serve dal-baati-churma, gatte ki sabzi, ker sangri and bajra roti, and most will prepare Jain versions on request.
- Udaipur, Mount Abu and Nathdwara have Gujarati thali restaurants, and Ranakpur, Dilwara and Nakoda have bhojanshalas serving Jain meals at fixed times.
- Desert camps cook buffet meals for many guests at once; we send your Jain or pure-veg requirement in writing so a separate plate is prepared.
Choosing hotels
- Udaipur: decide between a lake-view room (worth paying for on a honeymoon) and a hotel in the newer parts of town with parking and lifts (easier for seniors).
- Jodhpur and Jaisalmer: heritage havelis are atmospheric but often have steep stairs and no lifts; we check this before booking for older travellers.
- Mount Abu: stay near Nakki Lake for walking access, or on the quieter roads for space and views.
- Palace stays: one night in a converted palace is the upgrade most couples choose; the rest of the trip can stay in good 4-star hotels.
On the road
- Leave early on long days and finish driving by dusk; carry water, snacks and a few theplas for the highway.
- Agree camel, pony and boat prices before you start; UPI is accepted almost everywhere, but keep cash for small temple offerings and parking.
- Pack a light jacket for Mount Abu evenings and warm layers for desert nights from December to February; sunglasses and a cap in all seasons.
- Forts involve walking on cobbles and ramps; comfortable shoes matter more than you expect.

How much does a Rajasthan tour package from Ahmedabad cost?
Our Rajasthan packages currently start at ₹6,500 per person for 1 nights. Most of our Rajasthan packages fall between ₹25,000 and ₹42,000 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from {$from} are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.
How far is Udaipur from Ahmedabad by road?
About 260 km on NH 48 through Himmatnagar and Shamlaji, which takes four and a half to five hours by car with one stop. Mount Abu is about 220 km, Jodhpur about 450 km and Jaipur about 650 km. Udaipur and Mount Abu are comfortable weekend drives from Ahmedabad.
Which is the best Rajasthan weekend trip from Ahmedabad?
Udaipur is the favourite: lakes, palaces and a sunset boat ride, with Nathdwara darshan on the way back. Mount Abu is closer and cooler in summer, and pairs naturally with Ambaji. Both work well over two nights by car from Ahmedabad, leaving home early on the first day.
Can the package start from our home in Ahmedabad?
Yes. For road trips the car and driver pick you up from your home in Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar and drop you back at the end. Fuel, tolls, parking, Rajasthan entry tax and the driver's allowance are included in the quote, so nothing is settled separately with the driver.
Is there a train from Ahmedabad to Udaipur?
Yes. Trains run from Asarwa station in Ahmedabad to Udaipur City via Himmatnagar and Dungarpur. The Vande Bharat takes a little over four hours and other expresses about five. We can meet you at Udaipur City station with a car for sightseeing and the onward journey.
How many days are needed for Rajasthan from Ahmedabad?
Two nights covers Udaipur or Mount Abu. Four nights covers a Mewar loop with Kumbhalgarh and Ranakpur. Six or seven nights reaches Jodhpur and a Jaisalmer desert camp. Eight or nine nights adds Pushkar and Jaipur, usually flying home from Jaipur instead of driving back.
Can we drive from Ahmedabad to Jaisalmer?
Yes, but split it over two days, ideally with a night in Jodhpur, because the total is 620 to 720 km depending on the route. Most families drive out through Udaipur and Jodhpur, then take an overnight train or a flight home so the long return drive is avoided.
Is Mount Abu a good summer vacation trip from Ahmedabad?
Yes. Mount Abu stays far cooler than the Gujarat plains in April to June, is only about four hours away, and suits children and grandparents. It gets busy in the May vacation and on long weekends, so book hotels near Nakki Lake three to four weeks in advance.
How do you plan around Shrinathji darshan at Nathdwara?
Darshan opens in short slots through the day, with a long afternoon break, and timings change with the season and festivals. We confirm the schedule for your date and time the drive so you reach before the slot you want, usually Mangla or Shringar in the morning.
Is Jain food easy to find in Rajasthan?
Yes. Rajasthan is largely vegetarian, and most thali restaurants and hotels prepare Jain meals on request. Ranakpur, Dilwara and Nakoda have bhojanshalas, and Udaipur, Nathdwara and Mount Abu have Gujarati restaurants. We confirm Jain meals in writing with every hotel and desert camp.
Is a Rajasthan road trip suitable for senior citizens?
Yes, with pacing. We keep drives under five or six hours, avoid night driving, choose hotels with lifts and ground-floor rooms, visit forts early in the morning, and use jeeps instead of camels at the dunes. Mount Abu, Udaipur and Nathdwara make the gentlest trip for older parents.
When do desert camps in Jaisalmer operate?
Most camps at Sam and Khuri run from October to March, with a few opening in September or staying open into April at lower rates. December and January nights are close to freezing, so ask for heated tents. Diwali and Christmas weeks sell out early.
Can we visit Ranthambore on a trip from Ahmedabad?
Yes. The easiest way is to fly from Ahmedabad to Jaipur and drive about three and a half hours to Ranthambore for two nights and two safaris. It also fits at the end of a full road circuit. The core zones close for the monsoon, roughly July to September.
