Seychelles is the island holiday couples from Ahmedabad choose when they want something rarer than the Maldives and wilder than Mauritius. It is 115 islands in the western Indian Ocean, but a first trip uses only three: Mahé, where the international airport and the capital Victoria are; Praslin, home of the Vallée de Mai palm forest; and La Digue, where people get around by bicycle and the beaches are framed by pink granite boulders. Moving between them by ferry or small plane is part of the experience.

It is also one of the most expensive holidays we plan, and the food is not set up for vegetarians the way it is in Mauritius or Dubai. This page is honest about both. It explains how to fly from SVPI, the Travel Authorisation that Indian travellers must complete before boarding, how to split nights between the islands, indicative prices excluding flights, three itineraries, how vegetarian and Jain travellers manage, and which months suit a Gujarati wedding-season honeymoon or a May vacation.

Seychelles package prices from Ahmedabad (2026)

Seychelles packages start at ₹23,999 per person today, with 7 live on the site. The ranges below are per person on twin sharing excluding international flights, including airport and jetty transfers, ferries between the islands, breakfast and the tours listed.

8 nights, three islands at a slow pace₹1,20,000 – 1,60,000₹2,00,000 – 2,80,000₹3,70,000 – 5,50,000

Flights from Ahmedabad: one-stop return fares usually come to about ₹50,000–85,000 per person in economy when booked two to three months ahead. Via Mumbai is often cheapest; Gulf carriers are competitive and better when you want a stopover. Christmas, New Year and the Diwali weeks push fares to the top of the range.

Why it costs more than Mauritius: almost everything is imported, rooms are fewer, and you pay for ferries or flights between islands. Restaurant meals for two often cost ₹5,000–9,000 a dinner. The Seychellois rupee is worth roughly ₹6. Typically extra: the Vallée de Mai and L'Union Estate entry fees, bicycles on La Digue, snorkelling and boat trips, dinners on a breakfast plan, and the tourism sustainability levy that larger hotels collect per person per night (see the entry section).

Flying to Seychelles from Ahmedabad

Seychelles International Airport (SEZ) is on Mahé, a few kilometres south of Victoria. As of November 2026 there is no non-stop from Ahmedabad; every route has one change.

RoutingAirlinesNotes
Ahmedabad – Mumbai – MahéIndiGo has flown Mumbai – Mahé non-stop since March 2025, a few times a week; Air Seychelles has also served Mumbai in past seasonsAbout 4½ – 5 hours on the Mumbai leg; the shortest total journey when days match
Ahmedabad – Dubai – MahéEmirates, which flies Dubai – Mahé dailyOne airline end to end; easy to add a Dubai stopover
Ahmedabad – Doha – MahéQatar AirwaysDaily connection; useful in Christmas week when Mumbai seats are scarce
Ahmedabad – Abu Dhabi – MahéEtihadSeveral flights a week; combine with the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi
  • Match the days first: the Mumbai non-stop does not fly every day, so we build the island plan around the days it operates, or switch to a Gulf routing.
  • Keep both legs on one booking so baggage is checked through to Mahé and a delayed first flight is the airline's problem, not yours.
  • Time zone: Seychelles is 1½ hours behind India. Most flights from Mumbai and the Gulf land in the afternoon or early morning, and we time the Praslin ferry or flight around that.
  • Schedules change: airlines adjust Indian Ocean routes between seasons. We confirm what is operating for your exact dates before you pay.

Seychelles entry rules for Indian travellers

As of November 2026; rules change – we check before you book. Seychelles does not require a visa from any nationality. A free visitor's permit is issued at the airport. What catches people out is the Travel Authorisation that must be done online before boarding.

  • Travel Authorisation (TA): apply on the official Seychelles Electronic Border System, seychelles.govtas.com, for every traveller including infants. The government fee is EUR 10; with added charges and bank processing it came to about EUR 12 per person in early 2026. Apply at least a few days before travel. Airlines check it at the Mumbai or Gulf check-in counter.
  • Use only the official site. Several look-alike websites charge many times the real fee. We complete the TA with you on the government portal.
  • Documents at immigration: a passport valid for six months beyond the trip, a return ticket, confirmed accommodation for every night, and proof of sufficient funds such as a forex card or bank statement. Travel insurance is strongly advised.
  • Permit length: the visitor's permit is issued for the length of your booked stay, well beyond any normal holiday. Entry is at the immigration officer's discretion; we cannot promise it, but tourists with complete bookings pass through quickly.
  • Tourism sustainability levy: since 1 January 2026, hotels with 25–50 rooms collect SCR 75 and those with more than 50 rooms or island resorts collect SCR 100 per person per night, paid at check-out. Small guesthouses no longer charge it, and children aged 12 and under are exempt.

Mahé, Praslin and La Digue: how to split your nights

IslandWhat it is likeNights we suggestHighlights
MahéThe largest island, mountainous, with Victoria and most restaurants2 (on arrival or before departure)Beau Vallon beach, Morne Seychellois viewpoints, Victoria market, Sainte Anne Marine Park by glass-bottom boat
PraslinSecond island, quieter, resort-led2 – 3Vallée de Mai (UNESCO), Anse Lazio, Anse Georgette, day trips to Curieuse and St Pierre
La DigueSmall, slow, bicycles and few cars1 – 2, or a day trip from PraslinAnse Source d'Argent, Grand Anse, Anse Cocos walk, Veuve nature reserve

Getting between islands: the Cat Cocos fast ferry links Victoria and Praslin in about 1¼ hours; one-way adult fares were roughly EUR 46–57 as of late 2026. Praslin to La Digue is a 15–20 minute hop on the inter-island ferry. Small Air Seychelles planes fly Mahé to Praslin in about 15–20 minutes and suit anyone who gets seasick, but the baggage allowance is tight, so pack light or leave a bag in Mahé.

Seasickness note: the Mahé – Praslin crossing can be rough when the south-east trade winds blow from about June to September. We book the flight in those months for parents and anyone prone to motion sickness.

Three Seychelles itineraries from Ahmedabad

6 nights – honeymoon across three islands

  • Day 1: Fly from SVPI via Mumbai or Dubai; arrive on Mahé and check in near Beau Vallon for a sunset walk.
  • Day 2: Mahé drive: Victoria's clock tower and market, the Sri Navasakthi Vinayagar temple, the tea factory road over the mountains, and Anse Intendance in the south.
  • Day 3: Cat Cocos to Praslin. Afternoon at Anse Lazio.
  • Day 4: Vallée de Mai in the cool morning to see the coco de mer palms and listen for the black parrot; boat trip to Curieuse for giant tortoises and snorkelling at St Pierre.
  • Day 5: Ferry to La Digue. Hire bicycles, ride through L'Union Estate to Anse Source d'Argent at low tide.
  • Day 6: Grand Anse and Petite Anse; a slow evening at the jetty.
  • Day 7: Ferry back to Mahé via Praslin and fly home.

5 nights – shorter leave, two bases

Two nights on Mahé and three on Praslin, with La Digue as a full-day trip by ferry and bicycle. It saves one hotel change and keeps the cost lower, and you still see the three islands. This suits couples with a week of leave including travel days.

9 nights – Dubai stopover, then Seychelles

Fly Emirates to Dubai for three nights – the city, a desert evening with a vegetarian barbecue – and continue on the same ticket to Mahé for six nights on the three-island plan. The UAE visa for the stopover is prepared and submitted by us; approval is the UAE authority's decision. Couples who want both Indian Ocean islands can instead combine Seychelles with Mauritius, linked by flights a few days a week of about 2½ hours; we check which days operate before fixing the order.

Vegetarian and Jain food in Seychelles: the honest picture

Creole cooking in Seychelles is built on fish, octopus and coconut. Vegetarians will not go hungry, but they need a plan, especially on Praslin and La Digue.

  • Indian restaurants: Mahé has a handful, mostly in and around Victoria and Beau Vallon, run by the long-settled Indian community. Praslin has very few and La Digue almost none.
  • Hotel meals: 4- and 5-star resorts prepare vegetarian dishes daily and Jain meals on advance request. We send your requirements with the booking and get them confirmed in writing. Half board is the safest plan for vegetarians, because dinner is then guaranteed.
  • Self-catering villas: many Gujarati families book a villa or apartment with a kitchen on Praslin or La Digue and cook simple dal-rice and theplas. Supermarkets in Victoria and on Praslin stock rice, lentils, vegetables and some Indian spices.
  • Creole dishes that work: lentil curry, breadfruit chips, vegetable rougaille, and fresh tropical fruit from Victoria market. Always ask whether a curry uses fish stock.
  • Carry from home: khakhra, thepla, ready-to-eat dal and spice mixes in sealed packets for day trips, where vegetarian lunches are hard to find.

Best time to visit Seychelles from Ahmedabad

Seychelles lies just south of the equator and outside the main cyclone belt, so it is warm all year, around 26–31°C. What changes is the wind, the sea and the rain.

PeriodConditionsFor travellers from AhmedabadPrice level
April – MayCalm transition, clear water, light windsThe best snorkelling; May vacation trips; post-wedding honeymoonsMedium to high
June – SeptemberSouth-east trade winds, drier, choppier sea; seaweed on some south-east-facing beachesGood value; we pick sheltered north-west beaches and book the Praslin flightLower
October – NovemberSecond calm transition, warm and clearDiwali vacation (about 5–25 November 2026) and wedding-season honeymoonsHigh in Diwali weeks
December – MarchNorth-west monsoon: humid, heavier showers, especially December and JanuaryChristmas and New Year (peak rates); quieter February – March with insurancePeak at year-end, then medium

For Gujarat's wedding season: a honeymoon in late November or the first half of December catches the end of the calm spell before the rains get heavier. Book three to four months ahead, as rooms on La Digue are limited.

Practical tips for Ahmedabad travellers

  • Money: cards work in hotels and most restaurants; carry some euros or US dollars to change into Seychellois rupees for buses, bicycles and small shops. UPI and Indian rupees are not accepted.
  • Power sockets: UK-style three-pin, the same as many Indian hotels use for appliances; a universal adapter is still worth packing.
  • Bicycles on La Digue: roads are short but some are hilly and sandy; seniors can use the island's few electric buggies or taxis instead.
  • Tides decide beaches: Anse Source d'Argent looks its best at low tide, while some coves become unswimmable in strong wind. Your driver or host will suggest the right beach for the day.
  • Reef safety: wear reef shoes, never touch coral, and use reef-safe sunscreen; some beaches have no lifeguards and strong currents.
  • Leave a buffer day: keep the last night on Mahé so that a ferry cancellation in rough weather does not cost you the flight home.

Why plan Seychelles with Vibrant Holidays

  • Paperwork handled: the Travel Authorisation completed on the official portal with you, and any Dubai stopover visa prepared and submitted, with approval left to the authority.
  • Food sorted: vegetarian or Jain meals confirmed in writing, and villas with kitchens suggested where restaurants are scarce.
  • Private and customised: your own transfers and dates, never a group, and a 24×7 WhatsApp line while you travel. IATA-accredited; member of TAAI, TAFI, ADTOI and IATO; recognised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

Seychelles tour from Ahmedabad: FAQs

How much does a Seychelles tour package from Ahmedabad cost?

Our Seychelles packages currently start at ₹23,999 per person for 3 nights. Most of our Seychelles packages fall between ₹26,000 and ₹51,300 per person. The final cost depends on the travel month, hotel category, number of travellers and whether flights from {$from} are added. Open any package below to see exactly what is included, or ask us for a quote with flights.

Is there a direct flight from Ahmedabad to Seychelles?

No. As of November 2026 every routing from Ahmedabad has one change. The quickest is via Mumbai, where IndiGo flies non-stop to Mahé a few days a week in about five hours. Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha and Etihad via Abu Dhabi are the other options, and we keep both legs on one ticket.

Do Indians need a visa for Seychelles?

No visa is needed. A free visitor's permit is issued at the airport to travellers with a valid passport, return ticket, confirmed accommodation and enough funds. However, everyone must complete the paid online Travel Authorisation on the official government portal before flying. Entry remains at the immigration officer's discretion. This is as of November 2026.

How much is the Seychelles Travel Authorisation fee?

The government fee is EUR 10 per traveller, and with additional charges and bank processing it came to about EUR 12 per person in early 2026. Apply only on seychelles.govtas.com, because look-alike sites charge far more. Apply a few days before departure; airlines check the approval at check-in in Mumbai or the Gulf.

How many days are enough for Seychelles?

Six nights split between Mahé, Praslin and La Digue are ideal for a first trip. Five nights work if La Digue is a day trip from Praslin. With fewer than five nights the ferry and flight transfers eat into beach time, so we suggest the Maldives or Mauritius instead for very short holidays.

Is Seychelles more expensive than Mauritius or the Maldives?

Usually more than Mauritius and comparable to a mid-range Maldives trip. Hotels, food and inter-island transfers all cost more because nearly everything is imported. A guesthouse and self-catering plan keeps costs down, while 5-star resorts on Praslin and La Digue sit firmly in the luxury band. We show every cost on the quote.

Is vegetarian and Jain food available in Seychelles?

Vegetarian food is available but needs planning. Mahé has a few Indian restaurants, Praslin very few and La Digue almost none. Resorts cook vegetarian and Jain meals on advance request, which we confirm in writing. Many Gujarati families choose half board or a villa with a kitchen, and carry khakhra and thepla for day trips.

What is the best time to visit Seychelles for a honeymoon?

April to May and October to November, the calm months between the two trade-wind seasons, give clear water and light winds. Late November also suits Gujarat wedding-season honeymoons. June to September is windier with choppier crossings but cheaper, and December to January brings the heaviest rain along with peak year-end prices.

How do we travel between Mahé, Praslin and La Digue?

The Cat Cocos fast ferry takes about 1¼ hours from Victoria to Praslin, and the inter-island ferry reaches La Digue from Praslin in 15–20 minutes. Small Air Seychelles planes also fly Mahé to Praslin in about 15–20 minutes, which is better for seasick travellers but has a strict baggage limit.

Can we combine Seychelles with Dubai or Mauritius?

Yes. Flying Emirates from Ahmedabad lets you stop in Dubai for two or three nights on the same ticket; we prepare and submit the UAE visa, with approval at the authority's discretion. Seychelles and Mauritius are linked by flights of about 2½ hours on some days of the week, so a two-island trip works with ten nights or more.

Is Seychelles suitable for families and senior citizens?

It suits families who enjoy nature and quiet beaches more than activities. For seniors we book the short flight to Praslin instead of the ferry, hotels with flat access, and buggies instead of bicycles on La Digue. Some beaches have strong currents and no lifeguards, so we suggest calm, sheltered coves for children.

Is Seychelles good for the May vacation from Ahmedabad?

Yes. May is one of the calmest months, with clear water for snorkelling and none of the north-west monsoon rain. It is warm, around 29–31°C, but sea breezes make it far more comfortable than Gujarat in May. Book flights by February, as May fares from India rise with the school holidays.
