Solo Trip Packages from Ahmedabad

Travel alone, but never unsupported – private solo itineraries with vetted hotels, your own transfers and a 24×7 Ahmedabad helpline, planned from our C G Road office.

Solo travel from Ahmedabad has grown faster than any other kind of trip we plan in the last three years. Young professionals taking a week off between jobs, women travelling for the first time without family, retired teachers who finally have the time, and newly single people who want a reset – they all walk into our office with the same two questions: where is it safe to go alone, and what will it cost one person?

This page answers both. Below you will find the best solo destinations in India and abroad, honest per-person budgets for one traveller, how a private solo itinerary from Vibrant Holidays actually works (including the single-room question nobody else explains), safety guidance for women, and a planning checklist. Every package listed above can be booked for one person on your own dates, and you can call 1800-313-4262 or WhatsApp us to customise it.

Why solo travel from Ahmedabad is growing

Three things changed. First, SVPI Airport now has non-stop flights to Goa, Kochi, Bengaluru, Delhi, Srinagar, Bagdogra, Bangkok, Dubai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and several other cities, so a solo traveller no longer needs to route via Mumbai. Second, private itineraries became affordable – a car with driver for a day in Kerala or Himachal costs less than most people expect, so you can travel alone without depending on buses and shared taxis. Third, hostels, co-living stays and women-only dorms have arrived in Goa, Rishikesh, Manali, Varkala and Bir, and they are clean and well run.

We see three kinds of solo travellers from Ahmedabad:

  • The first-timer (age 22–35): wants a 4–6 night trip, a budget of ₹15,000–40,000, and the comfort of a hostel with other travellers or a well-reviewed hotel with pick-ups arranged. Goa, Rishikesh, Himachal and Thailand are the usual picks.
  • The experienced traveller (30–50): has done the easy ones and now wants Ladakh, Meghalaya, Vietnam or Europe. Budget ₹40,000–1,80,000, likes private hotel rooms, a planned route and free time built in.
  • The senior solo traveller (55+): often widowed or with a spouse who cannot travel. Wants a gentle pace, a car and driver, hotels with lifts, Gujarati or pure-veg food and no late nights. Kerala, Kashmir, Char Dham, Dubai and Singapore are the destinations we recommend.

Best solo trip destinations in India from Ahmedabad

  • Goa: the easiest first solo trip. A 1 h 20 min non-stop flight, hostels and boutique stays in Anjuna, Vagator and Palolem, scooter rentals, and a crowd of other solo travellers from October to March. South Goa for quiet, North Goa for company.
  • Rishikesh: yoga courses, Ganga aarti, rafting from Shivpuri, cafés full of solo travellers. Reach by flight to Dehradun or overnight train to Haridwar. Best from October to April; rafting closes in the monsoon.
  • Kerala: Varkala and Fort Kochi are the solo-friendly towns; Munnar works well with a car and driver for two days. Ayurveda retreats take single guests comfortably. Non-stop Ahmedabad–Kochi flights make it a weekend-plus trip.
  • Himachal – Manali, Kasol, Bir, Dharamshala: the classic Indian solo circuit. Overnight Volvo buses from Delhi or Chandigarh connect every town; hostels in Old Manali and Bir are social; Bir Billing is also India's paragliding capital.
  • Ladakh: for the experienced traveller. We plan a 6–7 night private Leh itinerary (June–September) with a driver who knows the passes, inner-line permits arranged, and two acclimatisation days in Leh that are non-negotiable.
  • Meghalaya: Shillong, Cherrapunji and the living root bridges at Nongriat. A car with driver is essential because distances are long and public transport is thin. Fly Ahmedabad–Guwahati with one stop.
  • Varanasi: ghats, the evening Ganga aarti, Sarnath, and a boat ride at sunrise. Easy to do alone for 2–3 nights; pair it with Ayodhya or Prayagraj for a spiritual week.
  • Udaipur, Jaisalmer and Jawai: Rajasthan is a drive or overnight train away, hotels are solo-friendly, and Jawai's leopard safaris are run in shared jeeps where you meet other travellers.

Best international solo trips from Ahmedabad

  • Thailand: non-stop Ahmedabad–Bangkok flights of about 4½ hours, visa-free entry for Indians at present, hostels and hotels for every budget, and a very visible solo-traveller scene in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and the islands. Our most-booked international solo trip.
  • Vietnam: cheaper than Thailand on the ground, an easy e-visa, and a north-to-south route (Hanoi – Halong – Da Nang – Hoi An – Ho Chi Minh City) that works well in 7–9 nights. Indian food is easy to find in all major cities.
  • Bali: Ubud and Canggu are built for solo travellers – co-working cafés, yoga, surf lessons and shared day trips to Nusa Penida. Fly via Singapore or Kuala Lumpur; visa on arrival.
  • Dubai: the safest and simplest international city break for a first-time solo traveller, including seniors. About 3 hours non-stop from Ahmedabad; the metro connects everything; Gujarati thali is a short walk away in Bur Dubai and Karama.
  • Singapore: expensive but effortless. Non-stop flights of about 5½ hours, English everywhere, Little India for food, and a city you can cover in 3–4 nights on public transport.
  • Sri Lanka: Kandy, Ella, the hill train and the south-coast beaches. A short flight via Mumbai or Chennai, good value, and a relaxed pace that suits a 6–7 night solo trip with a car and driver.
  • Europe: a private 8–12 night itinerary built around trains – Switzerland, Paris, Italy – with hotels near stations, rail passes booked and Indian restaurants marked on your map. Many of our solo Europe travellers are 45+ and travelling for the first time without family.

Domestic solo packages on this page start well under ₹20,000 when you travel in the shoulder season and skip the single room. Flight fares from Ahmedabad move the total more than anything else: book domestic flights 4–6 weeks out and international flights 8–10 weeks out, and avoid the Diwali and Christmas weeks unless you must travel then.

How a private solo itinerary from Vibrant Holidays works

Every trip we plan is a private, customised itinerary – your own dates, your own hotels, your own car and driver where you need one. For a solo traveller that means:

  • The single-room question, answered honestly: hotels charge the same for a room whether one or two people sleep in it, so a solo traveller pays the full room cost – typically 60–80% of what a couple would pay per person, not 50%. We quote the single-occupancy price upfront. Hostels, dorms and homestays with per-bed pricing bring the cost down, and we are happy to mix a few hostel nights with hotel nights.
  • Vetted hotels: we book properties we have placed clients in before, on main roads or with 24-hour reception, and share the hotel name, its Google rating and our past-client feedback before you pay.
  • Private transfers: airport pick-ups are pre-booked with the driver's name and number sent to you on WhatsApp, so you never negotiate a taxi at midnight.
  • Car and driver by the day: in Kerala, Himachal, Kashmir, Ladakh, Meghalaya, Sri Lanka and Rajasthan a private car with a local driver is the single best investment a solo traveller can make – it is safer, faster and the driver becomes your guide. We price it by the day so you can mix it with public transport.
  • Food: pure-veg and Jain options are confirmed with each hotel, and you receive our tested list of vegetarian and Gujarati restaurants in every city on the route.
  • Free time: we build half-days with no plan so you can follow your own interests – a café, a museum, a spa – and we stay reachable.
  • Join with a friend later: if a friend or family member decides to come along, we convert the itinerary to twin sharing and re-quote within a day.
  • 24×7 support: one Ahmedabad number that is answered at 2 am, plus our ground partner's number in each destination.

Solo travel safety for women from Gujarat

About 40% of our solo bookings are now women, many travelling alone for the first time. Our guidance, destination by destination:

  • Safest first trips: Dubai, Singapore, Kerala (Fort Kochi, Varkala, Munnar with a car and driver), Rishikesh, Udaipur and Thailand's Bangkok–Chiang Mai route. All have good lighting, reliable transport and a visible tourist police presence.
  • Stay choice: we book women-only dorms, hostels with 24-hour reception, or 3-star hotels on main roads, never isolated guesthouses.
  • Transport: pre-booked pick-ups with driver details shared in advance. For Goa and Himachal we recommend day scooter rentals, not night rides. In Kerala and Rajasthan a car with a driver we know is the safest option.
  • Share your itinerary: we give your family a copy of the itinerary with hotel numbers and our 24×7 Ahmedabad line, and you can check in with your consultant on WhatsApp each evening if you wish.
  • Dress and local norms: covered shoulders and knees in temples and in rural Rajasthan, Varanasi and Sri Lanka; no restrictions in Goa, Thailand or Bali beyond common sense.
  • Travel with a friend on the same plan: many women book the itinerary alone and a sister or college friend joins for part of it; we simply convert those nights to twin sharing.

Solo honeymoon, me-time and sabbatical trips

Not every solo trip is backpacking. Three kinds of trips we are asked for more every year:

  • The "me-time" break (3–5 nights): an Ayurveda resort in Kerala, a wellness stay in Rishikesh, a quiet villa in Ubud or a beach resort in Varkala. One hotel, no sightseeing pressure, spa and food included. ₹25,000–60,000 including flights.
  • The solo honeymoon or post-wedding reset: couples sometimes travel separately for work reasons, and newly single people often want a trip that still feels celebratory. Maldives local islands, Bali and Sri Lanka work well, with upgraded rooms and a photoshoot if wanted.
  • The sabbatical (3–6 weeks): Vietnam north to south, a Thailand–Cambodia loop, or a Himachal–Ladakh summer. We handle the flights, the first and last hotels, visa applications and insurance, and leave the middle flexible.

Solo trip planning checklist

  1. Choose by season, not by wish list: Goa and Kerala October–March, Himachal and Ladakh May–September, Meghalaya October–April, Thailand and Vietnam November–February, Dubai November–March, Europe April–June and September–October.
  2. Documents: passport with 6 months validity for international trips; Aadhaar or any photo ID for domestic hotels and flights. Keep digital copies on your phone and email.
  3. Visa: Thailand (visa-free at present), Sri Lanka (free ETA), Bali (visa on arrival), Vietnam (e-visa, 3–5 working days), Dubai (e-visa, 3–5 working days), Singapore (e-visa via authorised agent), Europe (Schengen – start 8 weeks ahead). We prepare and submit the application; approval is at the embassy's discretion.
  4. Insurance: strongly advised for every international trip and for Ladakh and treks; it costs ₹600–1,500 for a week.
  5. Money: UPI works across India; a forex card plus a little cash abroad. Tell your bank you are travelling.
  6. Connectivity: an international roaming pack or local SIM/eSIM for international trips; BSNL/Jio works best in Ladakh and the North East.
  7. Pack light: one cabin bag and a backpack is enough for 7 nights if you plan to use hotel laundry.
  8. Book flights with the package: we hold the package and the flight together so a change in one does not strand the other.

Solo trip packages from Ahmedabad – frequently asked questions

Is it safe to travel solo from Ahmedabad?

Yes, with sensible choices. Goa, Kerala, Rishikesh, Udaipur, Dubai, Singapore and Thailand are the safest starting points. We book hotels on main roads or hostels with 24-hour reception, pre-arrange airport pick-ups with the driver's details on WhatsApp, and share your full itinerary with your family along with our 24×7 Ahmedabad number.

Can a woman travel solo with your packages?

Absolutely – about four in ten of our solo bookings are women. We recommend Dubai, Singapore, Kerala, Rishikesh or Udaipur for a first trip, book women-only dorms or well-reviewed 3-star hotels, arrange a car with a driver we know in Kerala and Rajasthan, and keep a daily WhatsApp check-in if you want one. A friend can join for part of the trip at any time.

Do solo travellers pay extra for a room on their own?

We do not add a hidden surcharge – we simply quote the real single-occupancy price, because a hotel room costs the same for one or two guests. That is usually 60–80% of a couple's per-person price. To bring it down we can mix hostel or homestay nights with hotel nights, and if a friend joins later we re-quote on twin sharing within a day.

What is the cheapest solo trip from Ahmedabad?

Within India: Varanasi, Rishikesh or Goa for 3 nights at ₹11,000–16,000 including flights if you use hostels and travel outside Diwali and December. Internationally: Thailand or Vietnam, where a 5–7 night budget trip costs ₹32,000–52,000 including flights. Shoulder-season travel (February–March, September) saves the most.

Do you help with visas for solo international trips?

Yes. We prepare and submit your application for Dubai, Vietnam and Singapore e-visas, guide you through Bali visa on arrival and the Sri Lanka ETA, and assemble the complete Schengen file for Europe including the VFS appointment in Ahmedabad. Approval is always at the embassy's discretion. Thailand is currently visa-free for Indian tourists; we confirm the latest rule when you book.

Will I meet other travellers if I travel alone?

Yes, if you want to. Hostels in Goa, Rishikesh, Manali, Bir, Bangkok and Ubud are social by design, and shared day trips (Nusa Penida, Phi Phi, Jawai safaris, Halong cruises) put you with other travellers for the day while you keep your own hotel and schedule. If you prefer quiet, we book boutique hotels instead.

How many days should a first solo trip be?

Three to five nights. It is long enough to settle in and short enough that a wrong hotel or a bout of homesickness does not spoil the trip. Goa, Rishikesh, Kerala and Dubai all work in 3–4 nights from Ahmedabad; Thailand and Himachal are best with 5–6 nights.

Can I get pure-vegetarian or Jain food while travelling alone?

Yes. We confirm veg or Jain meals with every hotel we book and share a tested list of vegetarian and Jain restaurants in each city – Bur Dubai and Karama in Dubai, Little India in Singapore, Pratunam and Sukhumvit in Bangkok, Fort Kochi and Munnar town in Kerala – with your vouchers.

Is a solo trip to Ladakh suitable for a first-timer?

Only with a private car and driver and two acclimatisation days in Leh. Our June–September Ladakh itineraries include inner-line permits, an oxygen cylinder in the vehicle and a local doctor's number. If you have never done a Himalayan trip, start with Himachal or Kashmir and do Ladakh the following year.

Can senior citizens travel solo with you?

Yes, and many do. We plan Kerala, Kashmir, Dubai, Singapore or Char Dham with a car and driver, hotels with lifts, Gujarati or pure-veg meals, drives under four hours and no late nights, and we keep a daily check-in with you and your family. Wheelchair assistance at airports is pre-booked when needed.

What is included in a solo trip package?

Hotel or hostel stay with breakfast, airport transfers, sightseeing as listed, and a private car with driver where mentioned. Flights from Ahmedabad are added at live fares. Visa fees, insurance, entry tickets not listed, meals not mentioned and personal expenses are extra, and every quote shows inclusions and exclusions side by side.

How do I book a solo trip with Vibrant Holidays?

Pick a package on this page and send it to us on WhatsApp, call 1800-313-4262, or visit our office on C G Road, Ahmedabad, Monday to Saturday. We confirm hotels and the single-occupancy price, lock flights, and send one consolidated voucher. A 25% advance holds the booking; the balance is due 30 days before departure.
