Hyderabad & Telangana Tour Packages
Charminar, Golconda, a full day at Ramoji Film City and an easy Tirupati add-on – 6 Hyderabad packages, 1 h 45 min from Ahmedabad.
Hyderabad is the short-haul city break Gujarati families overlook. The flight from Ahmedabad is 1 h 45 min non-stop, the city has a 400-year-old old town around the Charminar, one of India's largest forts at Golconda, a world-class museum in the Salar Jung, and the biggest film studio complex on earth at Ramoji Film City – a full day the children talk about for years. Add two nights in Tirupati by overnight train and you have a four-night trip that mixes darshan and sightseeing with very little travel time.
Every package here is live and bookable today. Below the packages you will find the price guide, flight details from Ahmedabad, three itineraries from a 2-night weekend to the Hyderabad–Tirupati combination, a Ramoji Film City day plan, the month-by-month weather, honest advice on vegetarian food in a biryani city, and the questions we answer most often.

Hyderabad and Telangana tour package price guide (2026)
Packages on this page start at ₹9,500 per person. Hyderabad hotels are good value for a metro – a 4-star in Banjara Hills costs what a 3-star costs in Mumbai – and sightseeing is cheap, so the biggest variable is Ramoji Film City and whether Tirupati is added. The bands below are per person on twin sharing, excluding flights, with hotels and breakfast, private AC car with driver, transfers and the listed sightseeing.
| Trip | Standard (3★) | Deluxe (4★) | Premium (5★) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2N/3D Hyderabad city break | ₹7,500 – 10,000 | ₹12,000 – 16,000 | ₹24,000+ |
| 3N/4D Hyderabad with Ramoji Film City | ₹10,000 – 13,000 | ₹16,000 – 21,000 | ₹32,000+ |
| 4N/5D Hyderabad 2N + Tirupati 2N | ₹17,000 – 22,000 | ₹25,000 – 32,000 | ₹45,000+ |
| 5N/6D Hyderabad + Warangal + Ramappa (heritage) | ₹19,000 – 24,000 | ₹28,000 – 36,000 | ₹50,000+ |
Add for flights: Ahmedabad–Hyderabad return fares are usually ₹5,000–9,000 per person when booked 4–6 weeks ahead, with several non-stop flights a day. Usually extra on the ground: Ramoji Film City entry (about ₹1,350–1,750 per adult depending on the package; premium packages with lunch cost more), Golconda sound-and-light show tickets, Salar Jung and Chowmahalla entry, Hussain Sagar boat ride, Falaknuma Palace high tea, lunches and dinners not listed, and Tirupati darshan tickets when added. Every item is a separate line on your quote.
How to reach Hyderabad from Ahmedabad
- By air: Ahmedabad–Hyderabad non-stop flights take about 1 h 45 min and run several times a day, morning and evening, which makes a Friday-evening to Monday-morning city break realistic. Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad is 30–35 km from Banjara Hills and the old city – 45 minutes to an hour by road, included in our packages.
- By train: Ahmedabad–Secunderabad trains take about 22–26 hours; sensible only for groups wanting to save on fares or combine with Mumbai.
- On to Tirupati: a 1 h 15 min flight, an overnight train of 10–12 hours (the comfortable choice for families), or a 550 km, 9–10 hour drive.
- Getting around: private AC car (Dzire or Innova Crysta) with a Hyderabad driver; the Metro is handy for Hitec City and Secunderabad. Every trip is a private, customised itinerary on your own dates; extended families and friend groups travel together as a private group.

Telangana heritage add-on
With two extra nights, drive to Warangal (2½ hours) for the Thousand Pillar temple and Warangal Fort, continue to the UNESCO-listed Ramappa temple and Laknavaram lake with its hanging bridge, and return via Yadadri Lakshmi Narasimha temple, the state's grand new pilgrimage complex. Bhadrachalam's Rama temple is a further 4 hours for those on a dedicated pilgrimage.
Ramoji Film City – how to do it in one day
- Leave the hotel by 8 am; the drive is 30–35 km and the gates open at 9 am. Buy tickets in advance online or through us to skip the counter.
- Start with the guided bus tour of the film sets (about 2 hours), then the live shows – the stunt show and the dance show are the children's favourites – and the Fundustan rides after lunch.
- Vegetarian food is available at several counters inside; Jain meals are not, so carry snacks or take the packaged lunch option.
- Carnival parade at around 5 pm, then return to the city by 7 pm. Comfortable shoes, a cap and water are essential; weekdays are far less crowded than weekends and school holidays.
Best time to visit Hyderabad – month by month
| Months | Weather | Good for | Prices |
|---|---|---|---|
| October – February | Pleasant, 15–30°C, dry and clear | Everyone; Diwali and Christmas departures from Ahmedabad; Golconda and old-city walks | Moderate; Diwali and New Year weeks higher |
| March – April | Warm, 30–36°C; Ugadi and Holi | Short weekends; Ramoji on weekdays | Low to moderate |
| May – June | Hot, 36–42°C until the monsoon arrives in June | Gujarat May vacation – indoor sights (Salar Jung, Snow World, malls) by day, Hussain Sagar in the evening | Low; good hotel deals |
| July – September | Monsoon showers, 25–30°C, green outskirts; Bonalu festival in July–August | Budget trips; Golconda and Warangal look their best | Lowest of the year |
For Gujarati families the Diwali week and the Christmas break are the natural windows and also the best weather. Ramoji Film City is busiest on weekends and during Telangana school holidays; we put it on a weekday wherever the itinerary allows.

Food, hotels and tips for Gujarati travellers
- Vegetarian and Jain food – the honest picture: Hyderabad is famous for biryani and kebabs, and this worries many Gujarati parents. In practice the city has a large Gujarati, Marwari and Jain business community, and pure-vegetarian food is easy to find: Gujarati and Rajasthani thali restaurants in Abids, Koti and Secunderabad, Marwari bhojanalayas around Begum Bazaar, well-known South Indian vegetarian chains everywhere, and famous chaat and Irani-chai cafés that are vegetarian-friendly. Jain thalis without onion and garlic are available at several Marwari restaurants with notice, and hotels prepare Jain meals on request, which we confirm in writing. Inside Ramoji Film City and at Golconda the choice is limited to vegetarian snacks, so we plan lunches accordingly.
- Hotel categories: Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills for 4- and 5-star comfort and restaurants; Abids and Nampally for 3-star hotels close to the old city and the Gujarati eateries; Hitec City if you are combining business with family. For a honeymoon or anniversary, a night or a high tea at the Falaknuma Palace is the splurge.
- Shopping: pearls and bangles at Laad Bazaar and Pathergatti (bargain hard and buy pearls from established shops), Pochampally ikat and Gadwal sarees at government emporia, Karachi Bakery biscuits to carry home.
- Pack and timings: light cottons and a cap; modest dress for Mecca Masjid and Birla Mandir; Salar Jung is closed on Fridays and the Golconda show does not run on Mondays; Ramoji needs a full day and comfortable shoes.
- Money and language: UPI works everywhere; Hindi is widely spoken, which makes Hyderabad one of the easiest southern cities for Gujarati travellers.

Hyderabad and Telangana tour packages – frequently asked questions
How much does a Hyderabad package from Ahmedabad cost?
Hyderabad packages on this page start at ₹9,500 per person. A 3-night trip with Ramoji Film City in 3-star hotels costs ₹10,000–13,000 per person excluding flights; 4-star hotels take it to ₹16,000–21,000. Return flights from Ahmedabad add ₹5,000–9,000, and Ramoji entry (about ₹1,350–1,750 per adult) is extra unless the package names it.
How long is the flight from Ahmedabad to Hyderabad?
About 1 hour 45 minutes non-stop, with several departures a day in the morning and evening. The airport is 45 minutes to an hour from the city centre. The short flight makes a Friday-to-Monday break practical, and it is the easiest gateway from Gujarat to Tirupati, which is a further 1 h 15 min flight or an overnight train away.
How many days are enough for Hyderabad?
Two nights covers the old city, Golconda, Salar Jung and Hussain Sagar. Three nights adds a full day at Ramoji Film City, which families should not skip. Four nights lets you combine Tirupati by overnight train, and five to six nights adds Warangal and the Ramappa temple for heritage lovers.
Is Hyderabad suitable for a pure-vegetarian or Jain family?
Yes. Despite the biryani reputation, Hyderabad has a large Gujarati, Marwari and Jain community, with thali restaurants in Abids, Koti and Secunderabad, Marwari bhojanalayas near Begum Bazaar and vegetarian South Indian chains across the city. Jain meals are available at several restaurants with notice and at hotels on request, which we confirm in writing.
How does a Ramoji Film City day work?
Leave the hotel by 8 am for the 30–35 km drive; gates open at 9 am. The guided bus tour of the sets takes about 2 hours, followed by live stunt and dance shows, the Fundustan rides and the 5 pm carnival parade. Vegetarian counters are available inside but not Jain food. Weekdays are much quieter than weekends; we schedule it accordingly.
Can we combine Hyderabad with Tirupati?
Yes – it is our most popular combination. Two nights in Hyderabad, an overnight train (10–12 hours in AC 2-tier) and two nights in Tirupati fit into a 4-night trip costing ₹17,000–22,000 per person in 3-star hotels excluding flights. We help you book the ₹300 special-entry darshan slot and fly you home from Tirupati or Chennai.
When is the best time to visit Hyderabad?
October to February – dry, 15–30°C and ideal for Golconda and old-city walks, matching Diwali and Christmas holidays from Gujarat. March–April is warm but fine for short trips. May is hot (up to 42°C), so during the Gujarat vacation we plan indoor sights by day and the lake in the evening. The monsoon months are the cheapest.
What is usually not included in the package?
Flights unless added, Ramoji Film City entry, Golconda sound-and-light show, museum and palace entry fees, Hussain Sagar boat tickets, Falaknuma high tea, lunches and dinners not listed, Tirupati darshan tickets when added, personal expenses and 5% GST. Every exclusion is shown as a separate line so you can add what you want.
Is Hyderabad good for a couple or an anniversary trip?
Yes, for a short break. A sunset at Birla Mandir, dinner on Necklace Road, the Qutb Shahi tombs at golden hour and a high tea or a night at the Falaknuma Palace make a relaxed 2–3 night trip. Combine with Tirupati for a darshan, or with a Warangal heritage day for something quieter.
Is the trip suitable for senior citizens?
Yes. Golconda involves a climb, so we schedule it in the cool morning and let parents stop at the lower levels; the Salar Jung, Chowmahalla and Birla Mandir are easy. Hotels have lifts and the car waits at every stop. Ramoji has battery carts for those who need them. For the Tirupati leg we arrange the senior citizen darshan slot where available.
What should we shop for in Hyderabad?
Pearls at Laad Bazaar and Pathergatti (buy from established shops and ask for a certificate), lac bangles, Pochampally ikat and Gadwal sarees from government emporia, Bidri metalwork, and Karachi Bakery fruit biscuits. Allow a free evening in the old city; our driver knows the reliable shops and the ones to avoid.
How far ahead should we book a Hyderabad trip?
Three to four weeks is enough for most dates, as flights are frequent and hotel supply is large. For Diwali and the Christmas–New Year week, book 6 weeks ahead for fares. If Tirupati is included, the special-entry darshan quota opens about a month ahead, so we fix the dates before that and book the slot the day it releases.
