Two semi-crescent shapes that join together resembling the Hindu religious symbol ‘OM’ is the reason behind the name of the beach. Gokarna means Cow's Ear. It is believed that Lord Shiva emerged from the ear of a cow Prithvi, the Mother Earth here. It is also located at the ear-shaped con=uence of two rivers Gangavali and Aghanashini. Seeing idagunji ganpati mandir , Idagunji is a small place in Honnaa taluk, Uttar Kannada district, which has the famous Vinayaka temple. The temple is the main attraction at Idagunji, receiving more than 1 million devotees per year. Idagunji Devasthana is an ancient temple with a history of more than 1500 years overnight stay at Gokarna.

Gokarna to Mangalore for Drop
