Overview

Konark is a medium town in the Puri district in the state of Odisha, India. It lies on the coast by the Bay of Bengal, 65 kilometres from the capital of the state, Bhubaneswar. It is the site of the 13th-century Sun Temple, also known as the Black Pagoda, built in black granite during the reign of Narasinghadeva-I.

The city's colonial past is reflected in its architecture. Raj Bhavan, Writers' Building and the Victoria Memorial Hall are just some of the many buildings that hark back to a bygone era. Kolkata is also home to some of the best educational institutes in the country.

Today morning Darshan at Sri Jagannath Temple (Non Hindus are not allowed), Gundicha Temple, Mausima Temple, Bedi Hanuman Temple, then drive to Konark on marine drive, visit Chandrabhaga beach & Ramchandi temple. Then visit The famous Sun Temple called black Pagoda, The 12th century temple richly decorated with stone carving. Evening come back to Puri enjoy at Puri beach. Overnight at Puri.

Day 3

Puri - Chilika Lake ( Satpada ) – Puri drop (10:30 PM train for Kolkata)

After morning breakfast, Depart for Satapada, Chilka. en- route visit Alarnath Temple after reaching Chilika lake Take a boat ( By own cost) meets the Irrawaddy Dolphins in nature and the Hradaya –Sagar Sangam or the sea mouth (the point where the lake meets the sea). Enjoy the day at Chilka Lake (India's biggest inland lake spread over 1,100 square kilometers). Evening return to Puri, free time shopping at Puri local market then drop at Puri railway station train for Kolkata overnight journey by train.

Early morning proceed to Gangasagar, Sagar Island is an island in the Ganges delta, lying on the continental shelf of Bay of Bengal about 100 km south of Kolkata. & quot; Gangasagar & quot; is a place of Hindu pilgrimage. Every year on the day of Makar Sankranti (14 January), hundreds of thousands of Hindus gather to take a holy dip at the confluence of river Ganges and Bay of Bengal and offer prayers (puja) in the Kapil Muni Temple.
