Overview

Mumbai (formerly called Bombay) is a densely populated city on India’s west coast. A financial center, it's India's largest city. On the Mumbai Harbour waterfront stands the iconic Gateway of India stone arch, built by the British Raj in 1924. Offshore, nearby Elephanta Island holds ancient cave temples dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. The city's also famous as the heart of the Bollywood film industry.

Lonavala is a hill station surrounded by green valleys in western India near Mumbai. The Karla Caves and the Bhaja Caves are ancient Buddhist shrines carved out of the rock. They feature massive pillars and intricate relief sculptures. South of the Bhaja Caves sits the imposing Lohagad Fort, with its 4 gates. West of here is Bhushi Dam, where water overflows onto a set of steps during rainy season.

Mahabaleshwar is a hill station in India's forested Western Ghats range, south of Mumbai. It features several elevated viewing points, such as Arthur’s Seat. West of here is centuries-old Pratapgad Fort, perched atop a mountain spur. East, Lingmala Waterfall tumbles off a sheer cliff. Colorful boats dot Venna Lake, while 5 rivers meet at Panch Ganga Temple to the north.

Alibag, also known as Alibaug, is a coastal town, just south of Mumbai, in western India. It’s known for its beaches like Alibag Beach and Varsoli Beach. Just offshore, 17th-century Kolaba Fort has carvings of tigers and elephants, and temples dedicated to Hindu gods. To the south, Portuguese-built Korlai Fort dates from 1521 and includes a lighthouse. The island fort of Janjira has high walls, turrets and cannons.

On arrival in Mumbai our representative welcome you and transfer to hotel. check in and spend the day at leisure.You can opt to visit the popular markets and nearby attractions like the Govardhan Ecovillage, Sri Sri Radha Gopinath Temple, ISKCON Temple, Bandra-Worli Sea Link, Global Vipassana Pagoda and Nariman Point (leisure activities are not included in the package). Stay overnight at the hotel.

After breakfast visit Gateway of India - a 20th century monument erected during the British rule, in the Indo-Saracenic architectural style. It is an iconic landmark of Mumbai and overlooks the Arabian Sea. The Prince of Wales Museum or The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya is a beautiful heritage structure that houses interesting ancient artefacts of the rich Indian history. Prince Wales laid the foundation to this museum and it is built in the Mughal, Indian and British engineering styles. Also visit the Hanging Gardens (a beautiful terrace garden also known as Pherozeshah Mehta Gardens) and Haji Ali Dargah (a mosque built on an islet). In the evening, head to famous beaches like Chowpatty and Juhu Beach. These beaches are major tourist spots that offer lip-smacking street food, beautiful sunset views and exciting fun activities. Finally, return to your hotel for overnight stay.

On this day, after a good breakfast, take transfer to Lonavala by road via Khandala. En-route, treat your eyes to lush greenery and soak in the cool breeze. Take a short break for capturing pictures and witnessing the awe-inspiring beauty. On reaching Lonavala, check in at your hotel and go on to explore the lakes, waterfalls and caves of this hill town. Walk down the memory lanes of history at Bhaja Caves, which is one of India's oldest caves that dates back to 160 B.C. and comprises 22 other rock cut caves. Also explore Karla Caves (ancient Buddhist cave shrines) and Korigad Fort (ideal for trekking expedition). Stay overnight in Lonavala.

Lonavala to Mahabaleshwar

Also visit Morarji Castle, a beautiful castle built in the British architectural style. Taste the local renditions and explore other major sites. Then stay overnight in Mahabaleshwar.

Also have a wonderful time at Kihim beach and Akshi beach, the two popular beaches of Alibag that offer a pollution-free atmosphere and vast white sands to relax on.
