Overview
Kerala, a state on India's tropical Malabar Coast, has nearly 600km of Arabian Sea shoreline. It's known for its palm-lined beaches and backwaters, a network of canals. Start your day by arriving in Trivandrum. You can either fly or take a train or bus to Trivandrum, depending on your preference. After reaching Trivandrum, head straight to Kovalam, which is approximately 16 kilometers away. You can hire a taxi or take a local bus to reach Kovalam. Spend the day exploring the beautiful beaches of Kovalam, such as Lighthouse Beach, Hawah Beach, and Samudra Beach. Enjoy relaxing on the sandy shores, indulging in water sports activities, or taking a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage. In the evening, experience the vibrant nightlife of Kovalam with beachside restaurants, cafes, and live music.

After breakfast, visit the famous Padmanabhaswamy Temple in Trivandrum, which is renowned for its stunning architecture and religious significance. Next, you can explore the Napier Museum and Art Gallery, which houses a rich collection of historical artifacts, ancient sculptures, and artworks. In the afternoon, go on a backwater cruise in Poovar, located near Kovalam. Enjoy the serenity of the backwaters, spotting exotic birds and wildlife. You can also visit the nearby Poovar Island for a relaxing beach experience. Return to Kovalam for an evening stroll and dinner at one of the local restaurants.
Leave Kovalam in the morning and head to Alleppey, which is approximately 160 kilometers away. You can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Alleppey from Kovalam. Upon reaching Alleppey, check-in to a houseboat for a delightful backwater experience. Cruise along the serene backwaters, passing through picturesque landscapes and village life. Enjoy freshly prepared Kerala cuisine on board and spend the night on the houseboat, falling asleep to the gentle sounds of the water.
Wake up to a beautiful sunrise on the houseboat and have a leisurely breakfast on board. Disembark from the houseboat and explore the backwater village life in Alleppey. You can choose to visit the famous Alleppey Beach, the historic Krishnapuram Palace, or even go for a relaxing ayurvedic spa treatment. After exploring Alleppey, head back to Trivandrum, which is approximately 150 kilometers away. You can take a taxi or bus to reach Trivandrum and catch your return journey.
