Gangtok is the capital of the mountainous northern Indian state of Sikkim. Established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s, the city became capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975. Today, it remains a Tibetan Buddhist center and a base for hikers organizing permits and transport for treks through Sikkim’s Himalayan mountain ranges.
Darjeeling is a town in India's West Bengal state, in the Himalayan foothills. Once a summer resort for the British Raj elite, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Darjeeling Himalayan Railway, or “Toy Train,” completed in 1881. It's famed for the distinctive black tea grown on plantations that dot its surrounding slopes. Its backdrop is Mt. Kanchenjunga, among the world’s highest peaks.
Welcome on arrival at Bagdogra Airport, meet our representative and drive to Gangtok, upon arrival check in at the hotel. In the evening you are free to explore the local area. Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok.
After breakfast, proceed to Tsongmo Lake (12,210 ft.) and Baba Mandir, a 40 km drive which takes 2.5 hrs. This lake is located very close to Nathula Pass, (on direct payment basis) which is the entry point to China termed as the “Silk Route’’' and remains frozen for most parts of the year. The lake is home to the Brahminy ducks and many migratory birds. Nearby is the Sacred Baba Mandir, which is highly acknowledged for its spiritual worth. In the evening you are free for your own activities, Overnight stay at the hotel in Gangtok. Note for Nathula Pass:- • In case of Landslide or any reason, Tsongmo Lake is closed. We will provide alternate sightseeing at Gangtok. • Nathula Pass visit will be on direct payment basis because it depends on availability of permit from the army and subject to weather & Road conditions. • Nathula Pass is closed to visitors on Monday and Tuesday.
Morning after breakfast visit Ganesh Tok, Tashi View Point, Gonzang Monastery, Bakthang Waterfalls, Handicrafts (Handloom) (closed on Sunday), Flower Conservatory (Flower Park), Banjhakri Falls, Do-Drul Chorten Stupa, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday), Ropeway (pay yourself). After sightseeing back to hotel and overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.
Morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Darjeeling – ‘’Queen of Hills’’. On the way you will see amazing mountains, the stream of Tista River, Hills and Greenery Nature. As reach check in to the hotel. In the evening you are free to explore the local area, shopping at Mall road (by yourself). Overnight stay at the hotel in Darjeeling.
Early morning proceeds to Tiger Hill. Being the highest point of Darjeeling, Tiger Hill offers some of the best sights of the Himalayas, which are apt to be visited early in the morning. Imagine yourself standing in front of the mighty Kanchenjunga peak, the snow clad peaks of which are turning golden due to the rising sun. Also visit the incredible and Batasia Loop, one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist Monasteries in Darjeeling. It is also called (Ghoom Monasteries). Drive back to your hotel for a hearty breakfast after breakfast visit Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Tea Garden (outer view), Japanese Peace pagoda, Tibetan Refugee self-help centre, Tenzing rock. Overnight stay at a hotel in Darjeeling. Optional Tour: - Joy Ride (Toy Train) you can book the ticket directly on (irctc.in.) Note: optional tours are not included in the package. The toy train ride is an optional tour. If the guests decide to take this ride, an additional vehicle waiting charge (Rs.800/-) will apply as per the local union policy. However, if they choose not to do the ride, this charge will not be added.
