Overview

Guwahati is a sprawling city beside the Brahmaputra River in the northeast Indian state of Assam. It’s known for holy sites like the hilltop Kamakhya Temple, featuring shrines to the Hindu deities Shiva and Vishnu. To the east, 18th-century Navagraha Temple is an astronomical center with planetary shrines. Umananda Temple, dedicated to Shiva and covered with engravings, stands on Peacock Island in the river.

Shillong is a hill station in northeast India and capital of the state of Meghalaya. It’s known for the manicured gardens at Lady Hydari Park. Nearby, Ward’s Lake is surrounded by walking trails. North, the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures features displays on the region’s native people. Waterfalls include the Elephant Falls to the southwest. East of here, forested Shillong Peak offers city views.

Cherrapunjee, also known as Sohra, is a high-altitude town in the northeast Indian state of Meghalaya. It's known for its living root bridges, made from rubber trees. To the northeast, Mawkdok Dympep Valley View Point overlooks verdant gorges. In the surrounding hills, the Noh-Kalikai, Dain-Thlen and Kynrem waterfalls plunge from forested clifftops. South of town, Mawsmai Cave is illuminated to show its stalagmites.

Day 1

Arrival in Guwahati

On your arrival at Guwahati airport/railway station, you will be greeted by the agent's representative and transferred to the hotel. You will be traditionally welcomed at the hotel by Assamese Gamucha(a piece of honor & love). After having refreshment you can go sightseeing in Guwahati. Visit the Basistha Ashram, Balaji Temple, Sankar Dev Kalakshetra, etc. Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2

Guwahati to Shillong

Post a delectable breakfast, pack your bags and get ready to drive to Shillong. Enroute visit the Umiam Lake which is popularly known as Barapani lake. After arrival in Shillong, check-in to your hotel. Relax for a while and then visit Wards Lake, Lady Hydari park, Catholic Church, etc. Return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 3

After having your breakfast, head out for sightseeing. Visit the Elephant falls, Airforce Museum and then proceed to Mawsynram and Maflong . Visit the Natural Shivling in Mawsynram and the sacred forest. Spend some time in nature’s lap. Return to the hotel. Overnight night stay at the hotel.

Shillong to Cherrapunjee

Post a sumptuous breakfast, gear up to have a daylong trip to the picture perfect Mawlynnong village, the cleanest village in Asia. Mawlynnong has alternatively been known as 'God's own garden' too. Explore the local life of this place. You can visit Balancing Rock, Skywalk, Bangladesh Viewpoint.In the next half of your day, visit living Root Bridge, Dawki & the Crystal River (Umngot river) etc. Umngot river is a must-see location. You will be then check-in to your Cherrapunjee hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5

Post breakfast, proceed to sightseeing in & around Cherrapunjee. Cherrapunjee is famous for its picturesque view, beautiful waterfall and impressive limestone caves. Visit the Nohkalikai Falls, being the world’s fourth tallest waterfall, Mawsmai Falls, Thangkharang Park and Mawsmai cave which is one of the 100 old limestone caves in Meghalaya. Get back to your Cherrapunjee hotel for overnight stay.

Day 6

Cherrapunjee to Guwahati

Post breakfast, proceed to visit Lait Lum & Canyons and Smith Village. You will be transferred back to Shillong for local sightseeing. Visit popular tourist attractions Golf course, Don Bosco Museum, etc. Proceed o Guwahati and check-in to the hotel for overnight stay.
