Overview

Madurai is an energetic, ancient city on the Vaigai River in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Its skyline is dominated by the 14 colorful gopurams (gateway towers) of Meenakshi Amman Temple. Covered in bright carvings of Hindu gods, the Dravidian-style temple is a major pilgrimage site. Millions attend the processions and ceremonies of April's Chithirai Festival celebrating Meenakshi and Lord Vishnu.

Rameswaram is a town on Pamban Island, in the southeast Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It’s known for Ramanathaswamy Temple, a Hindu pilgrimage site with ornate corridors, huge sculpted pillars and sacred water tanks. Devotees bathe in the waters of Agni Theertham, off the beach east of the temple. Gandamadana Parvatham is a hill with island views. A chakra (wheel) here is said to bear an imprint of Lord Rama’s feet.

Kanyakumari is a coastal town in the state of Tamil Nadu on India's southern tip. Jutting into the Laccadive Sea, the town was known as Cape Comorin during British rule and is popular for watching sunrise and sunset over the ocean. It's also a noted pilgrimage site thanks to its Bagavathi Amman Temple, dedicated to a consort of Shiva, and its Our Lady of Ransom Church, a center of Indian Catholicism.

Kovalam is a small coastal town in the southern Indian state of Kerala, south of Thiruvananthapuram. At the southern end of Lighthouse Beach is a striped lighthouse with a viewing platform. Palm-backed beaches also include Hawa Beach and Samudra Beach. Heading south, Vizhinjam Juma Masjid mosque overlooks the busy fishing harbor. Inland, Sagarika Marine Research Aquarium displays technology used in pearl production.

On arrival at Madurai our representative welcome you and Transfer to Hotel. After checking-in, relax for some time and later visit the Meenakshi temple - one of the biggest temple complexes in India. It is an ancient centre of worship as well as an art gallery of vast proportions. Later come back hotel for night stay.

Day 2

Madurai to Rameshwaram

After Breakfast check out from Hotel and Transfer to Rameshwaram. Upon arrival in Rameshwaram, check in to your hotel and later, visit Sri Ramanathaswami temple. This temple has 22 holy springs which are believed to have medicinal properties. After darshan, visit the Ghanthamathana Parvatham. From here, one can get a fine view of the island. Later, visit Dhanushkodi. Later come back hotel for night stay.

Day 3

Rameshwaram to Kanyakumari

After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari has been named after Goddess Parvati, in one of her incarnations as Devi Kanya, who did penance on one of the rocks of this land’s end to obtain the hand of Lord Shiva in marriage. On arrival, check into the hotel, relax for some time and visit Sri Kumari Amman Temple. After darshan, visit the Vivekananda Rock Memorial and Thiruvalluvar statue. You will need to use a boat to visit this beautiful memorial spot. Return back to the hotel in the evening and have a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 4

Kanyakumari to Kovalam

After breakfast, you will be driven to Kovalam via Trivandrum. Trivandrum is the capital city of Kerala. The Padmanabha Swami Temple, Kuthiramalika Palace and the Napier Museum are some of the heritage attractions at Trivandrum. After exploring Trivandrum, drive to Kovalam. Upon arrival in Kovalam, check-in to a hotel. Stay overnight at your hotel in Kovalam.
