How to apply
Online only, through an ImmiAccount on the Department of Home Affairs website. Paper visitor visa forms are no longer accepted from applicants outside Australia.

As stated on your visa grant notice. You can check your visa details and conditions online through VEVO.
Passport
A valid passport is needed for the online application and for travel.
Where to apply in India
Online from anywhere in India. A family member or travel agent can fill in the online form for you with your permission.

Documents usually needed

  • Supporting documents asked for in the online form for your situation, such as proof of funds and the purpose of your trip
  • Documents for each family member travelling, if applying together

How to apply

  1. Create an ImmiAccount on the Department of Home Affairs website.
  2. Choose the Visitor visa (subclass 600), Tourist stream, and fill in the online form.
  3. Attach your supporting documents in the application.
  4. Pay the visa application charge online.
  5. Follow any requests from the Department and wait for the decision by email.
  6. Book non-refundable travel only after the visa is granted.

Important to know

The Australian High Commission advises applying well in advance and not finalising travel plans until the visa is granted.
