OLD DELHI – A sight-seeing tour of Old Delhi would entail visiting theRaj Ghat – the memorial site where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated;Jama Masjid – the largest mosque in India and the Red Fort – once the most opulent fort and palace of the Moghul Empire. NEW DELHI – An extensive sight-seeing tour of New Delhi would include a visit to the Humayun’s Tomb, the Qutub Minar, India Gate, Red Fourt, a drive along the ceremonial avenue- Rajpath, pastthe imposing India.Night stay in Delhi Hotel.
After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Agra. Arrive Agra and Check in at the Hotel. In the Afternoon, visit the Famous Taj Mahal which is one of the biggest symbol of eternal love built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaj Mahal. It was built in 1632-1653. (Please note that The Taj Mahal is closed on every Friday). Later visit to The Agra Fort. At the end of his life, Shah Jahan was deposed and restrained by his son in this fort. It is rumored that Shah Jahan died in Muasamman Burj, a tower with a marble balcony with a view of the Taj Mahal. Overnight stay at Hotel in Agra.
Post breakfast visit Sikandara. “Sikandara” was built by the Great Mughal Emperor Akbar, It is rich in architecture & constructed mainly from a deep red sandstone, enriched with features in white marble. Later drive back to Agra. Visit Agra fort. Agra fort is originally brick fort held by the Hindu Sikarwar Rajput. (Sikandar Lodi was the first sultan of Delhi who shifted to Agra and lived in the fort. He governed the country from here and Agra assumed the importance of the second capital).Rest of the day at leisure or you can explore the local market, Overnight stay at hotel.
