Overview

Guwahati is a sprawling city beside the Brahmaputra River in the northeast Indian state of Assam. It’s known for holy sites like the hilltop Kamakhya Temple, featuring shrines to the Hindu deities Shiva and Vishnu. To the east, 18th-century Navagraha Temple is an astronomical center with planetary shrines. Umananda Temple, dedicated to Shiva and covered with engravings, stands on Peacock Island in the river.

Kaziranga National Park is a protected area in the northeast Indian state of Assam. Spread across the floodplains of the Brahmaputra River, its forests, wetlands and grasslands are home to tigers, elephants and the world’s largest population of Indian one-horned rhinoceroses. Ganges River dolphins swim in the park’s waters. It’s visited by many rare migratory birds, and gray pelicans roost near Kaziranga village.

Shillong is a hill station in northeast India and capital of the state of Meghalaya. It’s known for the manicured gardens at Lady Hydari Park. Nearby, Ward’s Lake is surrounded by walking trails. North, the Don Bosco Centre for Indigenous Cultures features displays on the region’s native people. Waterfalls include the Elephant Falls to the southwest. East of here, forested Shillong Peak offers city views.

On your arrival at Guwahati airport/railway station, you will be greeted by the agent's representative and transferred to the hotel. You will be traditionally welcomed at the hotel by Assamese Gamucha(a piece of honor & love). After having refreshment you can go sightseeing in Guwahati. Visit the Basistha Ashram, Balaji Temple, Sankar Dev Kalakshetra, etc. Return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Guwahati to Shillong

Post a delectable breakfast, pack your bags and get ready to drive to Shillong. Enroute visit the Umiam Lake which is popularly known as Barapani lake. After arrival in Shillong, check-in to your hotel. Relax for a while and then visit Wards Lake, Lady Hydari park, Catholic Church, etc. Return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Post a sumptuous breakfast, gear up to have a daylong trip to the picture perfect Mawlynnong village, the cleanest village in Asia. Mawlynnong has alternatively been known as 'God's own garden' too. Explore the local life of this place. You can visit Balancing Rock, Skywalk, Bangladesh Viewpoint.In the next half of your day, visit living Root Bridge, Dawki & the Crystal River (Umngot river) etc. Umngot river is a must-see location. You will be then check-in to your Cherrapunjee hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After an early wake up, you will be taken to the riding point in the Central Range (Kohora) for an Elephant Ride (direct payment). After the ride return back to the Hotel. After Lunch drive to the Central Range (Kohora) of the park for a jeep safari (direct payment). Evening visit the the Kaziranga Orchid and Biodiversity Park & Tea Garden. Overnight in Kaziranga.
