Overview

Shimla is the capital of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, in the Himalayan foothills. Once the summer capital of British India, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Kalka-Shimla Railway, completed in 1903. It’s also known for the handicraft shops that line The Mall, a pedestrian avenue, as well as the Lakkar Bazaar, a market specializing in wooden toys and crafts.

Sangla is a town in the Baspa Valley, also referred to as the Sangla valley, in the Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh, India, close to the Tibetan border.

Kaza, also spelled Kaze, Karze, Karzey, is a town and the subdivisional headquarters of the remote Spiti Valley in the western Himalayas in the Lahaul and Spiti district of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh.

Kalpa is a small village in the Sutlej river valley, above Reckong Peo in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Northern India, in the Indian Himalaya. The region is inhabited by the Kinnauri people and is known for its apple orchards, as apples are a major cash-crop for the region.

Shimla to Sangla: (230 km / 8 – 9 HRS):

After Breakfast check out from hotel and Drive to Sangla through the thick woods of Narkanda and alongside the river Sutlej. If you reach Tapri at lunch time then don’t forget to have food at kangri dhaba. On the way you can enjoy beautiful lake hydro project at karcham dam. In the evening reach and check in hotel. Enjoy the evening in beautiful surroundings in the river valley of Baspa at a height of 9000ft. This is one of the most beautiful valleys in the Himalayas and is often compared to the famous valley of Kashmir. Known for its rich Kinnauri culture and apple orchards, this valley was opened for tourists only in 1993 for its close proximity to the Tibetan border. O/N Hotel.

After B/F, explore the vicinity around including an ancient Kamru Fort & Temple dedicated to the Goddess Kamakhya Devi which was brought from Assam & Nages God. Post Lunch, excursion to Chitkul – a last Village on Old Indo – Tibetan Trade Route. Walk through green orchards & brilliant stream. Return back to Sangla for Dinner & O/N stay.

Day 4

Sangla to Kaza:

After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to kaza, on the way we will visit Khab (Sangam of spiti and satluj river) and then visit nako lake and gue monastery. Evening check in kaza hotel, dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast will do full day excursion to , Kibber, Hikkim, Komic & Langza village. While driving back to Kaza will stop at Kye Monastery. Kye Monastery – The learning centre of Buddhism. Evening return back to Kaza, Dinner & overnight at Kaza.

Kaza -Tabo-Kalpa

After B/F, check-out from the Hotel & drive to Kalpa, On the way today we will visit tabo monastery and then drive to Kalpa. Evening check in hotel and then we will visit roghi village and suicide point in Kalpa. Evening back to hotel, Dinner & O/N stay.
