Overview

Shimla is the capital of the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh, in the Himalayan foothills. Once the summer capital of British India, it remains the terminus of the narrow-gauge Kalka-Shimla Railway, completed in 1903. It’s also known for the handicraft shops that line The Mall, a pedestrian avenue, as well as the Lakkar Bazaar, a market specializing in wooden toys and crafts. The Mall Road and its bazaar are the town’s focal point, while the Old Manali neighborhood is home to traditional stone buildings, apple orchards and the Hindu Manu Temple. Across the Manaslu River on a forested hilltop is wood-carved Hadimba Devi Temple, built in 1553 and dedicated to a Hindu goddess. The Museum of Himachal Culture and Folk Art preserves local crafts and heritage. In the Tibetan quarter, the Buddhist monastery Gadhan Thekchhokling is recognizable by its yellow, pagoda-style roof. East of the Beas River is Vashisht, a village known for its hot springs.

On arriving at New Delhi Airport / Railway Station, our representative will welcome you and transfer you to Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. A very popular holiday retreat known for its Victorian architecture, which is reflected in certain areas of the Mall Road and The Ridge. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel. Enjoy leisure time in the evening and overnight stay at hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast, proceed for a half-day excursion to Kufri (2,500 mts), famous for its Himalayan views and adventure activities (At Own Cost). Visit Indira Tourist Park and enjoy scenic surroundings. Later visit Jakhoo Temple (Ropeway at Own Cost). Guests will have free time to visit the Himalayan Nature Park (Closed on Monday). In case Monday falls, guests will be taken to Naldera. Later explore the main town of Shimla for photo opportunities and shopping including Christ Church, Scandal Point, Gaiety Theatre and Town Hall. Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 3

Shimla – Manali

After breakfast, proceed to Manali. En route visit Beas-Sutlej Link Project, Pandoh Dam and drive through the scenic Kullu Valley. Lunch shall be en-route on direct payment basis. On arrival, check-in at your hotel and relax. Later enjoy evening at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.

Manali – Solang Valley Excursion

Manali - Delhi
